It has been a while since you posted any new videos, Brittany. I was eagerly waiting for your next update. I am glad to see that you have finally uploaded your Wellington vlog. It is a splendid piece of work, as usual. You have captured the beauty and charm of the city in a captivating way. You have also given some useful tips and insights for anyone who wants to visit Wellington. Your narration is clear and engaging, and your editing is flawless. You have shown your professionalism and talent in this vlog. I hope you will continue to share your amazing travel experiences with us.
Thank you so much again!! I think maybe you have missed some of my recent videos! I upload 3 times every week, 2 long form videos and 1 short 😄. Thank you so much for your continued support & comments! ❤❤
@dr.kalyanpokuri1079 something strange is going on with TH-cam & some of your comments! I have gotten a few notifications of your comments but then they are not there when I try and reply 😔 are you having the same issue?? Maybe this has something to do with you not being able to see my other recent videos? How strange!
Love you videos Brittany.❤ Thank you for this informative video guide. U are amazing. I am saving it for our future, dream visit to NZ. Lots of love💖💖💖
Another thing with the public transport is day explorer ticket (after 9am) which has different prices for the fare zones covered. ie 1-3, 1-7, 1-10, 1-14 and is for all Metlink buses & trains (but not the cable car or East-West ferry)
As a Wellingtonian, I think you've covered all the best bits! Yes, the weather is mercurial and windy, and nobody lives here for that! But for a very small city in worldwide terms, it packs a lot into a small space. Btw... my partner's Canadian and we met here, then lived in Calgary for a year, then in Vancouver for four years. Love Canada...and that prairie winter was something else! :)
@@brittanymorgan09 Yes, Vancouver is expensive, but we've found Wellington is just as expensive since we returned in late 2021. I think you're in Christchurch, which is probably a bit cheaper...and I think a better climate...but maybe less diverse, culturally
@@tims7793 we're in Nelson! It's a bit dull honestly but beautiful!! I would love to live in Welly too but yeah, so expensive! I think it'd be worth it though.
You mentioned the Wellington Museum (formerly the Museum of City & Sea) which is very good with its Wahine Disaster exhibition, but you probably didnt realise at 7.36 in the video its yellow mast - which was recovered from the wreck is now a monument to the people who died in the sinking.
I did not know that, very cool!! Thank you for the info. We didn't have much time to explore that museum on our last trip but would love to give it the time it deserves.
I can also recommend the Eastern walkway as well as a stop at breaker bay (but beyond the big rock is generally clothes optional, heads up!) Scorchorama at schorching bay is also a wellington must! Beach Babylon by oriental is also fantastic for a brunch stop! Quite busy on a weekend though so might be a decent line up.
Agree about Lord of the Fries....not nice. Zealandia and the zoo are great. You can get great views up the top of Brooklyn at the wind turbine. If you have a car a drive around the bays is lovely. You can take the East by West Ferry to Days Bay. Once again, if you have a car you can head up the Kapiti Coast or over to the Wairarapa. Personally, I think you're better off staying in the CBD. You can easily catch a bus to the zoo.
If you do the Days Bay ferry in future, and you get it on a nice day, definitely stop off at Sommes Island and then carry on to Days Bay with the next ferry. Just beautiful 😊
Totally agree about staying in the CBD/Cuba St and taking the bus to the zoo. My cousin used to live in Newtown, and had to wear earplugs to sleep because of the noise from the zoo at night 😅
You have a gift for storytelling, and your voice is a delight to listen to. You should consider pursuing a career as an audiobook narrator, as you have the skills and talent to bring any text to life. Your voice is enchanting, Brittany, and I'm sure many listeners would appreciate your work.
Wellington definitely looks like it's my type of place, it has a little bit of everything and the vibe seems really chill there too, btw whats the story on that fries place? 👀😄
It's super chill, great vibes and atmosphere! Such a welcoming city. We popped into Lord of Fries without checking Google reviews and it was so bad. Like stale, dry fries. Wasn't cheap either. I think we picked the worst place to eat on Cuba Street lmao 🤣
@@brittanymorgan09 LMAO! Man okay thanks for the heads up I'll make sure and give them a miss, but yeah Wellington looks lovely can't wait to go there.
For short stays Newtown probably wouldn’t be my recommendation, unless you had a car and were hoping to save money on parking by staying at a motel. Getting to the zoo from the central city is real easy, there’s a bus route that goes right to it, with stops right outside. And I think one of the Karori bus routes goes right past the Zealandia entrance too now I think about it.
@@brittanymorgan09 Don't get me wrong, its been coming up half a decade since I lived in Wellington so things might have changed, and I love Newtown, I just think most of the motels exist more for a place to stay if you have a loved one in the hospital :) It was traditionally a more working class area of Wellington, and the shopping centre rents were way cheaper than the middle of town. But it had some of the best or most interesting small shops and cafes/restaurants because of it and has a super fun annual festival with music, street food, stalls, markets and whatnot, its a rad suburb.
Oh no! Sorry to hear Lord of the Fries isn't good in Wellington, the one in Auckland is great for vegans Edit: Zealandia is absolutely top notch, highly recommend
