- Welcome back to my Virgin Voyages Valiant Lady SOLO cruise vlog! In this episode I am combining our last port day in St John's, Antigua, as well as our final day on this cruise, which we spend at sea heading back to San Juan, where this trip started only 7 days ago. I have SO much bar tab left, $400 in fact, and I have no idea how to spend it all! In this video I'll show you a couple of options, and take you along with me on our last two days on this amazing 7-day Caribbean Cruise! At the end of the video I wrap things up by giving you my final thoughts on this cruise, my overall thoughts on Virgin Voyages as a cruise line and the product they offer, and whether or not I plan to be back cruising with Virgin in the future. Awesome series! This itinerary was canceled on Brilliant lady for my March sailing and I did NCL for the 1st time on the Viva as a replacement. It was great. I like the almost all inclusiveness of VV and have 4 MNVV to use. I agree that i might struggle using those since you have to book a sea terrace or higher. I was hoping to hear more than adding a 2nd hammock as the only design change on the Brilliant Lady for their big May 1 announcement.
I was also originally booked on Brilliant and then got cancelled, so with the discount they gave me on rebooking plus all the credits, the cruise ended up being a great deal, but the prices for their cruises have gone up by thousands, I can’t justify spending that much for an itinerary I’ve already done, as much as I love Virgin’s product!
Another great series of videos. Do you use the same camera for the underwater shots as the rest of your vlogging?
Thank you! Not always, I recently got the DJI Pocket 3 that I use for most footage now, as well as my iPhone, and I occasionally also use a Sony vlogging camera!

I enjoyed watching your vlogs covering the Southern Caribbean sailing. That basic itinerary has been my go to for the majority of the cruises I've been on.
One thing I've never done is the self disembark for an early flight. I couldn't believe you were still in your stateroom with a little packing and breakfast yet to do at 7:30 with a 11 am flight. You're a cool customer....not like me. I'd have been a nervous wreck. 🙂
So, I hope you'll tell me how that all worked out for you. I'm guessing your disembark was probably fairly fast. Was the airport not yet congested that early, so that check in was quick?
I'm excited that Princess is finally returning to San Juan sailings....and with a ship on which I've always wanted to sail (Grand Princess).

Disembarkation was super quick, and I took a shuttle to the airport (they had them lined up right outside the pier) which was maybe a 10-min drive, plus I have TSA pre-check and did carry-on only, so no bags to check, I was at my gate by 9:45 with plenty of time to spare before the flight!

I have two cats! 😸 and I use a housesitting service when I travel so they are always in good company ☺️
Hello, Mer...I just found your channel and I've so enjoyed watching your videos about your most recent VV cruise out of San Juan. Actually, I enjoyed it so much I am probably going to book a January cruise out of SJ on the Resilient Lady. So thank you for that. 🙂 Question: I am new to cruising, having only done one (Valiant Lady last month, where I fell in love with VV!). I will be doing future cruises alone so I am watching your channel with interest. As you mentioned in this video, VV is getting very expensive. With flights/hotel I am looking at over 3k for a 10 day Insider Solo in January. Are there other cruise lines you recommend for solos which might not be as expensive as VV? I'm not fond of loud kids so that's what I love about Virgin. But if cruising VV is going to be cost prohibitive for me, what other cruise lines would you recommend as a solo cruiser? Thanks so much for any information you can provide. Again, I loved your VV series and I look forward to more solo cruising videos from you. 🙂
Thanks so much, Rhonda! I really love NCL for solo cruising because they have lots of solo cabins with solo pricing that tends to be pretty good in comparison to the other cruise lines. If you choose a longer itinerary (and a smaller ship) there are much fewer kids! Hope that’s helpful, and so glad you have enjoyed my videos, I think you will love the San Juan cruise!! 😊
