- While visiting Paris I highly recommend taking a day to explore outside of the big city and visit the 2nd mast visited tourist attraction in all of Normandy. Monet's Gardens are peaceful, beautiful, and inspiring. There were also a few surprises about Monet himself I never knew. This was truly a sight to see and a wonderful day trip outside of Paris.

Much more your old sweet, happy self Ash. Nice to see. Thanks for this. My wife and I visited the garden in 2009 and it seems not to have changed. It is a lovely spot! I am a Welshman, born and raised in Cardiff although latterly I lived in West Wales. Please don't forget us.

I was there some years ago, very early in the morning and I had to wait outside for an hour. Many japanese were there too
Memories, memories... My wife is from the nearby town of Vernon (where your train arrived). We were able to arrange with the museum to have our wedding pictures made in the Monet Gardens then - that was in May 30 years ago, and still happily married. With a free entrance for our little group of six persons and our photographer! We still have on a chest at home a photo of the two of us bride and groom on the Japanese bridge over the pond. For the anecdote: though relatively early in the morning, there were two groups of American and Japanese tourists there, that asked for permission to make pictures of us - a French bride in a 1900 style dress in Giverny! So I guess there are still photos of us young in a few photo albums on both sides of the Pacific Ocean 😉.
The grounds were gorgeous 😍 The tip about buying the tickets ahead totally makes sense as a time saver. Thanks for taking us with you Ash.
It’s a great way to skip the line.:) Just gotta think ahead. It’s a good tip for most European tourist sites. Most have online tickets available.
This was absolutely lovely. I have a bit of education in art and are absolutely a crazy garden. So obviously that place is on my bucketlist. :D Simply lovely. Thank you Ash.

I was in Paris a few weeks ago and we did a day trip to Giverny. I loved it, the gardens and surrounding village were so beautiful. It was a nice day and not too hot or cold plus we didn’t really have any long lines the day I went. Will definitely go again next time. I can see why Monet preferred that type of garden as opposed to Versailles type.

This vlog was lovely, not just the garden but showing us the town too. I’ve been to France, especially Paris, several times but somehow have never had the time to get to Giverney. I’m hoping to be in France next year so this will be on my must do list.
It was well over 100 when we visited there. The crowds were horrific (we were on a river cruise). Although beautiful... the heat wilted EVERYTHING, including us! Only thing resembling a/c was in the gift store! And, since they don't believe in ice in France... ugh! But I have gorgeous photos! :) Glad you enjoyed it!

Hope when you get here you don't have to deal with the Train Strike that's here for the week and my be longer 😱 I'd phone the ticket office to find out if the minimum train activity is for where you want to go, Wales and Scotland is no go areas except the capital cities, and they are only a few trains, 🙄

I DO! I would have loved to have seen Wales in the summer. I got to see all the seasons but summer. I would have really like to have done more hikes, camping, exploring… I’m sad I had to leave.

I don't actually remember but there is a great website I like to use called ROME 2 RIO and it helps with all the information you are looking for. I use it ALL the time when planning my itinerary. -Ash
