Amen sis good word! I have a question though, didn’t Jesus say adultery is another way the marriage can end if the person chooses to end it because of the adultery? Some spouses stay with their spouse even after they cheat but many others divorce them after the cheating / adultery act, but I’m almost certain Jesus said adultery also can end the marriage if the person decides to, just asking?
Great question. In Matthew 19:9, the only exemption for divorce is fornication and this is prior to the consumation of marriage. This exemption is during the bethrotal period which is similar to modern day engagement. You'll find this scenario in Matthew 1 where Joseph and Mary were bethroted to each other. More to come upon your follow up question. 😊
@ thank you for responding and yes I think it also states that adultery while married is a reason a person can divorce and look forward to your follow up answer ☺️
@benjaminsmith1137 The later version of the Bible changed the verbiage from fornication to sexual immorality and thus mislead people to remarriage adultery.
@benjaminsmith1137 The Word says: 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 KJV [10] And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: [11] but and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. bible.com/bible/1/1co.7.10-11.KJV
