What's with the trailer music volume set to three times louder than the clip? Not good when you're wearing headphones and have to set the volume to max to hear the dialogue!
Q: Why has Edward Woodward got 4 ds in his name? A: Because if he hadn't, he'd be called Ewar Woowar! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress.
He'd do the same to Spacey that he did to Darth Vader... One punch to the stomach.. with a chop to the neck just to be sure, (but it was the stomach punch which did the death bl;ow.. and it terrified The Greek)
Dear @@Erekose2023 It was a 3 strike combination during a moment of Red Mist Rage. The 1st punch was a right handed, straight power shot to the solar plexus which would have hurt like hell and shocked the heart. The 2nd punch was also a right handed straight power punch to the Adams Apple of the throat which would have interrupted breathing. As the character played by big David Prowse bent over in pain Callan used his right hand on David's shoulder to bend him forward until he was lying face down on the kitchen table in front of Callan. That's when Callan delivered a single right handed chop to the back of Prowse's neck. It was one hell of a scene and they'd not be allowed to show something like that on TV these days as it was just too damned realistic.
The character of “McCall” is technically the spiritual successor of the character “Callan” from the 70’s - or even the same character who changed his name 😃👍

The Equalizer was a distinctly different series thanks to Edward Woodward and really sophisticated writing. Much better than the recent movies though Denzil is really good. But the writing makes his character appear out of character.
I enjoyed both. Because you see, the movie version worked because it was more action oriented for a movie, while the series version worked because it was more about detective nuances for a series.
What REEEEEELY annoys me, is how the character of Robert McCall was 'hijacked' to make commercially successful movies starring Denzil Washington! I have no issues with Denzil Washington - but 'Robert McCall' was - and should always be - the late Edward Woodward's character!...
I don't mind another actor playing the character, after all, lots of different people have portrayed James Bond over the years. The problem is that the guy in the movies (played by Denzel Washington) is not Robert McCall. He is somebody else entirely. Robert McCall was a British government agent, not a United States Marine.
I love and adore Denzel Washington. BUT I definitely hate it, when degenerated language is used. Especially those totally unnecessary f- words. There is this slaughterhouse scene and never in my life I heard so many f- words. What kind of writers do that and what kind of movie producers/directors allow that? It's a shame that viewers nowadays seem to like f- words very much. I definitely go with John Travolta and his campaign against f- words. Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against swearing but everything against f- words. Especially if additionally used for describing even positive things. By the way: What the heck happened to the good old 💩? Why are nowadays only f- words used?

Spacey is a great 👍 actor 🎬 (personal behaviour excluded). Woodward took the scene over the moment he appeared and kept it 👏 👌 💯 👍. Bravo, sir. Denzil's "Equaliser" is a different character. Woodward played men who intimated (scared the ####! out of) you. He rarely used violence. ❤️
Would that detective be so cocky if he knew the man who he was talking to, took out Darth Vader with a single punch ? oops sorry... mixing characters/stories etc :)
Thing is, McCall wasn’t as physical as Callan. He could take someone out easily, but most of the physically demanding work was done by Mickey. McCall could intimidate people just with the sheer tone in his voice
Your missing the whole point of the show 🙈 the point is he doesn't look dangerous as people think he's some old guy ...but he is a killer and very very dangerous it's proven in many episodes he is highly trained both in firearms and hand to hand just because you are older doesn't mean your any less deadly besides he was only mid 50's. One episode he kills about 4 terrorists first he rams the metal spike from toilet roll holder into a guys neck then he strangle the next!
