You need to add 2 stitches from your pattern, one for right edge, one for left edge. Prep. row: slip purlwise with yarn in front, yo, your pattern, k1. THE ROW: slip purlwise with yarn in front, yo, your pattern, k2tog the yo & slip stitches. Repeat this row. It is very simple yet perfect & neat!
Brilliant, love your video just quietly seeing your tutorial… Love it No loud music!!! AND such a easy stitch, making a lovely neat edge… Thank You so much 😊👍 Just what I have been looking for…
Sooo simple! I currently use a "slip one purlwise with yarn in back" at the beginning and knit the last stitch, but it gets wonky sometimes. I'll have to seek how this turns out. Thank you for sharing with us!
Can you perhaps show video of how to do this for stocking stitch. I am uncertain about pearl side? Do you knit last 2,or pearl if on pearl side? (yo & stitch)
preciso ver umas 100 vezes mais. LINDO. Estou tentando fazer pra minha neta um sueter bem simples, mas elegante. É assim que quero. Vou tentar. Obrigada.
This is a really great idea for garter stitch. Do you have instructions that create the same edge for a stocking stitch? I was trying to figure it out but i can't seem to get it to work.
Fine for blankets etc but not items like jumpers where you have to sew the seams together, just slip your first stitch on every row for that. I like this finish and will use it. Thank you.
That's a really lovely edging idea. Thank you for sharing it with us! I wonder what it would look like for those of us who knit "English" style, aka "throwing."
@@sfcucci You are probably missing the YarnOver. First row: Slip the first stitch purlwise with the yarn in front. Then do a YarnOver. Then knit your pattern to the end. Second Row: Slip the first stitch purlwise w/YIF. Then YO. Then knit til there's only two stitches on your left needle -- the YO and the slipped stitch from the beginning of the first row. Knit the YO & the slipped stitch TOGETHER (k2tog). That's it!! Then just keep repeating the instructions for the second row (Slip 1 w/YIF, YO, K til 2 sts left, K2TOG).
The way I do it is I grab the two stitches like you did here and start knitting. When I get to the end of the row I don't grab the last two stitches like you did and finish the row but my end result is the same as yours. That's weird

for prep row, you have to end on a K1 at the end?
@@mikifubuki yup,

Can you please show from the beginning after putting on the stitches on needles

Genius, thank you. To those who struggle with the speed: go to the little wheel top right off your screen and slow down the play back speed.
Thank you for the tip. It helps a lot
No talking short video just the technique I need to learn..brilliant👍❤
Can you show how ta start this from the beginning of the work ?
The first row knitting :)

Does this edge stitch work with stockinette stitch also? …or just garter stitch?
Love your video. Can you use this method for seaming in stockinette stitch?
It's wonderful 💖
I get the idea but there is no sound - should there be?

Slip first stitch purlwise, then YO, knit etc… K2tog the last two stitches.
Bonjour merci beaucoup pour ce tuto ❤ belle journée
Thank you so much
So,beautiful
Doesnt it decrease when you knit two together at end of row. Confused
It does, but then you sort of add a stitch the following row when you yarn over and knit,
How does the very first row start?
I tried it and my rows keep decreasing #confused

Unusual way of knitting, Are you left handed?
it's called continental knitting, it's easier and faster, especially for left handed people, but even right handed people can do it

Mine ends up curling really bad at the edges

Unfortunately, for a beginner knitter, this was not helpful. 😩
really confusing
No sound no instructions and fast speed on video.
This video is to fast
Go to the settings icon (cog wheel) and click on the 'Playback Speed', and change to -1.75. The video will then play super slowly.
