This cottage was really pretty before, and the makeover is also awesome. I love this. I like that this house is wood and not plastic. You did a fantastic job.
I am such a messy painter, I could never paint on that wood table without a drop cloth! The house turned out fantastic... but that family picture!!! Wow. ... what a beautiful family. Your husband has incredible eyes and your son is absolutely adorable .
You need to give yourself more credit. I’m sure you would do a fine job. Edit: Watch the movie “Door To Door (William H. Macy, Kyra Sedgwick, etc.). It’s based on a true story. The words his mom puts on his sandwiches also apply to you!
Honestly, you have the patience of a saint. I don't know how you managed to work with that difficult vinyl to make those great windows! And the pencil sharpener rocking chairs are WICKED cool!
Those windows were well worth the effort! The house looks fantastic, very creepy; the kind you would pass by if you were a kid trick-or treating! The brass furniture is perfect, you have a good eye for finding just the right things.
From the peak of the roof to the furnishings….you did this little house so proud! It seems the only thing missing is a crow! Thank you so much for sharing this process!
What a Perfect dollhouse to turn Spooky. You outdid yourself on this Incredible Adventure. I can't imagine what the inside will look like when you finish. You definently need to let the Anderson Sisters move in...
This definitely takes me back to my visit to Salem, MA. I have such a thing for black houses. You did a beautiful job. The lighting is awesome! Well done!
I think that is very nearly the exact same dollhouse kit I bought and assembled many years ago. I added another panel so the house would have all four walls. That is because I used it at my wedding reception for gift envelopes. I saved extra roof shingles so I could cover the "mail slot" I cut out of the roof. I had no intention of wasting all that effort for just one evening. I planned ahead to use that dollhouse as a dust cover for my sewing machine. Before purchase, I made sure the house was large enough. And before assembly, I made a cutout in the ground floor. I framed the cutout with strips of wood so the house would not be wobbly. I cut an extra panel to use as a temporary floor. The dollhouse served very well for both purposes. I remember sanding, painting, and gluing all those little bits of wood. I would not want to do that twice.
So clever and creative. The windows are perfect. Also, thank you for the tip about the moss. I had not even looked for it at Joann's. Good to know. Cannot wait to see what you do next.
What a labor of love! Truly amazing. I really like that you didn't paint the shingle roof. I'll be on the lookout for a dollhouse that would suit! Thanks for sharing.
Wow, I love the way this turned out! I am one of those people who finds painting therapeutic and now I have an urge to paint. I have a very similar old doll house that I thrifted several years ago. It has been sitting in the attic just waiting for a makeover. Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, this was just too short. I could watch this all day. My spooky, crafty self needs to find a great dollhouse, like this one. I would love to do a creepy redo. Yours looks fantastic! I used to have a couple of those pencil sharpeners. My sister and I both got them from our grandmother, in the 70s. I think I had that gramophone, and maybe a cash register. They were all antiquey.
As an alternative to prying off stuck items like those hearts, consider covering them with some other object. An alternative to the door windows could be a faux stained glass.
Finishing touches. Bats - each stuck to one end of a thin rigid wire so they can flutter about the roof. A cauldron suspended from the legs of a tripod. A witches familiar (cat, toad, etc). An herb garden. A creepy looking being peering out of a window. Gargoyles if are lucky enough to find them. A black witch hat and a pair of red and white striped hose. Crows.
I love this! I recently found my own dollhouse from my childhood. I probably won't make it Halloween themed, but this was a wonderful inspiration. You have so many great ideas!
The Halloween version of your dollhouse is definitely an improvement! I like it when you can find stuff at garage sales, and the dollar store! Save money where you can, eh? Love all the little creepy touches you used, too! ~Janet in Canada
BRAVO, my dear 👏!!! Love your spooky awesome witch's cottage!! ♥️ You did an amazing job on this ! So realistic , vintage, & scary !! Next time you're trying to remove something, using a hair dryer/ heat gun warm the item up which will activate the old glue under it, then scrape/ pry it off ! Much easier , no damage & works every time!! Happy Halloween!! Take care and TFS my friend!! 🌙
Thank you so much Connie!! The heat thing did cross my mind at one point but I didn’t try it, so I appreciate you telling me that, I will do that in the future because it was a pain!! 😆 Happy Halloween to you as well friend!! 🖤✨
First I LOVE my cricut!!! I love this project!! So amazing!!!! I love all the fun pieces you got and fb market place is sooo awesome for that!! Recently moved into my dream home and got sooo much wall art from fb market place!!!
Great! You were so meticulous and all the details showed it. I always wanted to do this. I even had a house I could have used...I wonder what happened to it. I love it, please show us when you decide to do the inside too. I'll be watching for it.
Well, your talents are endless! Thank you for sharing this enchanted cottage. Have you ever watched DIY channel? A lady, I believe Russian, creates such charming houses, interiors and landscapes. 🙋♀️
This turned out really amazing 😍. And to think about the details on the Windows...maybe one detail is to let the roof look more weathered. That gives to the old spooky factor.👻 I have a grandfather Clock sharpener
What a fantastic find in Marketplace for those brass trinkets! Fits the aesthetic so well. Would love to see how you do the inside of the house 💜🤍🧡🖤
Points for painting this on what looks like your dining room table and not spilling any paint! I absolutely love your brass finds!! So so beautiful.
This cottage was really pretty before, and the makeover is also awesome. I love this. I like that this house is wood and not plastic. You did a fantastic job.

I’m not a messy painter, but I still would NEVER do this over that table….guess I’m old and weird🤷♀️
You need to give yourself more credit. I’m sure you would do a fine job.
Edit: Watch the movie “Door To Door (William H. Macy, Kyra Sedgwick, etc.). It’s based on a true story. The words his mom puts on his sandwiches also apply to you!
Being a witch house the broom should be upside down. I love it! Beautiful work.
I love that you made it cozy looking, not all dark and dirty.
This is brilliant and it turned out perfect I can't wait to find an old doll house!
Yesss, it was so much fun and honestly I found the process pretty relaxing!
Same girl, same!🙌🏻
Did anyone else get anxious when she was painting without table protection?!
Same
You definitely don't want to see my wooden kitchen table then without a tablecloth. ;-)
Hahahaha I came here to say that! Where's the cardboard for underneath???
No. Cheap craft paint will wash right off.
Oh my gosh I thought it was just me!!😂 I’m like what is she doing?!
you are brave painting on that lovely table....
Painting is my therapy. Definitely my happy place.
I feel like most craft projects can be soothing
Love how your house turned out. I can imagine ravens landing on the roof and a spooky face peeking out the window. What a fun project.🎃🎃
Can't wait to see what you'll do with the inside this year! This is amazing
I love the house!! One day Ill get one and make it a haunted house, gothic and creepy. Those old trinkets are a great find!
Honestly, you have the patience of a saint. I don't know how you managed to work with that difficult vinyl to make those great windows! And the pencil sharpener rocking chairs are WICKED cool!
I love that you put a wreath on the door of the haunted house. I guess even witches like to craft. Nice job.
& put up fairy lights it appears..
Paint the door a shade of purple 💜
I love this! Can't wait till you decorate the inside next year.
good call on changing the window mullions from white to black. they look amazing!

One of my cats absolutely loved this video 😅
Tip: use a heat gun on the hearts to melt the hot glue and they should be easier to remove
So clever and creative. The windows are perfect. Also, thank you for the tip about the moss. I had not even looked for it at Joann's. Good to know. Cannot wait to see what you do next.

Wow what a fantastic job. Looks wonderful.
I'm right there with you; I definitely enjoy painting the day away!
I built this exact house model when I was 15 yrs old!! This made me feel super nostalgic! Obviously yours turned out looking way better than mine lol.
I was wondering how old it was, it's beautiful
It's amazing ❤ a little tiny pieces of moss in the roof and on the sides of the house where water would pool would look cool!

I can’t wait to see what you do with the interior!😃
Nice work though, I like what you did with the windows.
What a find! I think it needs a small brass bead for the door handle. Great work!
Such an adorable witch cottage! It turned out fabulous! I too enjoy painting but only smaller projects, big paint projects stress me out.
Oh, Salem!! My hometown! I think I recognize your inspiration…well done!! 🙂

Love it! Maybe some spooky silhouettes in the windows?
Love this! Could add a free standing witch silhouette inside house in front of windows. So much potential here for more to grow.
Love it! Saw a sneak peak of this on a "short" of yours I think. I am now on the hunt for an old dollhouse! 🤣.
