So with a quick Google search you'll find that out, with Sean's professional MMA career he has had 35 fights, with 6 losses (83% win rate) and 14 of those wins was by 'decision' that means Sean has a 48% finish rate. Another nice fact is that he has a 42% striking accuracy. Now lets compare that to Dricus professional MMA career where he has had 24 fights, with 2 loses (92% win rate) and only 2 fights that he has won has gone to 'decision' that gives him a 92% finish rate as well. Although it seems like he miss a lot its because he exerts a lot of force into his punches (hence the high finish rate) and follows through so the miss is blatantly obvious but he actually has a 49% striking accuracy which is 1% higher then Izzy and a whole 7% higher then Sean. Now lets not forget Dricus professional kickboxing career where he has competed in 33 fights and won 33 fights (100% win rate), and 30 of them were by knockout. That 91% finish rate!!!! Then again, looking at Seans P4P ranking, you'll see he's 13th, and Dricus is ranked 6th! Take away American fanboy opinion and Sean's big mouth on social media and focus on the facts, and you'll find that Dricus is on a whole other level. They aren't even in the same class. Strickland was ready, big muscular costa ran away for a full 25 minutes. I just watched the fight in a Timelapse and it’s literally just Sean coming forward and costa running and circling

Strickland came forward, but still didn't want to take a risk and extend on an opponent who was waiting for him to do so. Its the right thing to do, but lets not pretend you want wars. the fact that sean immediately after his loss to Pereira then went on to train with him and become good friends/sparring partners imo is why sean is a top contender still (and arguably (sh/c)ould be champ still). most fighters would be too proud to accept the offer to train with alex after getting ko'ed by him (izzy), and that pride stifles their ability to grow/get better. intelligent move by sean to not make that same mistake.
Apparently if you want a title shot in the UFC, you can either cry for a title shot and refuse to fight even if you weren't a long standing champ (Strickland), KO Matt Schnell and become the 10th ranked guy in the division (Erceg), weigh in as a back-up and refuse other fights (Colby), beat a washed vet a year ago and fail a drug test (Rountree), or do absolutely nothing (Stipe). Alternatively, you can run through divisions and get an impressive win streak (Leon Edwards, Belal Muhammad, Ankalaev), or win and defend an interim title (Aspinall) and still not get a title shot when its deserved.

Strickland came forward, but still didn't want to take a risk and extend on an opponent who was waiting for him to do so. Its the right thing to do, but lets not pretend you want wars.
