After a long wait , I have finally managed to catch hold of our deck cadet @aldrinclouds onboard Emma Maersk .
He is going to be showing you his life onboard & what all he has to do in a day. ( HIS SCHEDULE )
I will take the role of a teacher to guide him through his journey & teach him whatever I know .
He will also be assisting me with my routine jobs & you will see how a good cadet is of so much help to the officers .
Sit back , relax & I know many of the young aspirants currently studying are curious to know what it would be like to join merchant navy .

Maersk is nice company. In most of small companies cadet is used as a tool and given so much of deck work
Maersk is indeed very good
For cadets are they really that good after enrolling on such a huge scale and later on they recklessly remove them . Yah in words they are but not in real.

@@sailorxyz5000 if there is no job security why the people are coming up with such fascinating videos to encourage people to come up and become a part of it. Obviously who are we to think about others till we are satisfied with our comfort and things to reach our comfort .
@@WardhanAbhigyan brother when I was a cadet, I had so much of hardships in the company i was working. When I saw this video of cadet on Emma Maersk his work is comparatively easy and intresting. This is why I said Maersk treats it employee well at least when they are onboard.
I think I'm not the one jealous of him how blessed he has to have a officer like you. Every cadet's dream like me is to get onboard on a big ship like Emma Maersk and to have a great officer like you, sir. Please continue inspiring Cadets and all Seafarers and keep safe always. Thank you

I'm a Deck Cadet on board a ship on Motor Tanker "UGALE". 2nd contract. Sealife is not easy, but it pays off with the time. My Cadet life is also doing Deck/Rough and other loogbooks, steering the ship/mooring etc. And most of it I do because I want to learn, not that I have to. Have a good one Deck Officer!!👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you for this video. I just signed my Cadet contract with Maersk and I'm very curious of the exact type of work and work load you are doing on the ships. It varies alot plus you learn a lot in school but as you show in the beginning, it's not all that's still useful. I'm looking forward to be your colleague, and maybe one cross paths

In this video a DCP extinguisher has been discharged overboard which is in violation of Marpol V
The extinguisher powder is to be discharge into an empty drum and landed ashore... also as this a planned discharge it would be better to do it wearing RPE so as to avoid inhalation in secluded area.. and not in such a location which will allow the DCP powder into the accommodation or near it.

Please keep practicing stellar navigation so that it becomes second nature, please do not rest on GPS only.
I started as a seaman and then up. I would say now that as I have left the sea so long ago I would have difficulty
in remembering how to work out PZX, but for fun get the Apprentice onto solar amplitudes using ABC tables or
cheat by using sun declination - latitude this will help on confidence. I know through experience.
