    Gorgeous and inspiring. I’ll get an outdoor aviary going again someday. I’m always working on the indoor bird room dedicated to my Goffin and Galah cockatoos. Have you noticed the flooring used for hookbills? I’ve been curious about using a more attractive bark, gravel, or…? for their bird room. Did the hookbills have any interesting landscape plants too?

    • @TropicalAviaryBirds
      @TropicalAviaryBirds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much 😊
      I have seen many different flooring for different parrots. As long as it does not harm the birds. For some parrots grass and grasses work as well - and bark as you mention can be used for playing also. But make sure it is “clean”. Especially galahs love to spend much time on the ground. A way to make it more interesting but still easy is to have a form of tray you can change some times a week with dirt/grass, leafs, etc from the garden or forrest. But, most live plants will be destroyed in a normal setting.
      Also, some large tree stumps on the floor can be fun to destroy for hours 😊

    Denmark is truly a haven for people interested in aviculture. I hope the gentleman is able to find someone able to carry on his commitment to the birds. This is a concern of all of us who keep and breed birds as we get older. Unfortunately immigration to Denmark is extremely difficult and is discouraged as the country has a relatively small population and has experienced problems in the past with immigrants not successfully integrating into the national culture, which has resulted in increased restrictions. It is a beautiful country, and as a lifelong aviculturist, I would love to retire there, but it is not possible.
