- Chinese president Xi Jinping heads home today after a whirlwind tour to Europe, his first in five years.
President Xi has been in Hungary for the final stop of his five-day trip. He met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in Budapest and said the two nations would begin a 'golden voyage' in bilateral relations. Xi and his wife also visited Serbia and France. In Paris, President Emmanuel Macron and EU Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen pressed Xi to use his influence on Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

That reporter is so wrapped up in his own bias that he is not facing realities when he said Xi was not given a warm welcome in France. The welcoming procession with horses, guards, etc was the highest honors and most elaborate that France has given to any Head of States.

Well… Chinese goods are cheap, and that’s make Europeans able to become more materialistic wealthy. Their Purchase Power increasing through China’s communist party limiting the Purchase Power of their own citizens. Although Europes economy would be fine if Europeans stop buying Chinese stuff. Actually, that would benefit Europes economy when EU made products will be consumed instead. Although theirmPurchace Power would decrease.
So no… Europe can survive without China. But if Europeans would opt to stop consuming Chinese products, it is obvious what would happen to the Chinese economy. The Purchase Power of the ordinary good and decent hard working Chinese citizen would possibly get a negative value.
25 years ago there were very few chinese products in Europe. And we were just fine back then. Everyone can be replaced.

It is more likely that Xi aims at deepening their relationship to Russia not out of friendship but because they want arctic ports in Siberia. You can guess how they will achieve it. (By any means.) A weakened Russia aligns with their goals so they won't stop the war in Ukraine but encourage it, let Russia grind their economy and future away for immediate gains so later on Russia is more pliable to be made into a submissive ally or a client state.
