    For what it's worth, I've always enjoyed your painting tutorials. My current shelved project was to finish a Tau army, doing as much as possible in airbrush. But constraints got in the way; I lost the desire to play halfway through the assembly and priming stage. At this point it's just a collection of things and a reminder to go back and paint some of them up as diorama pieces.

    Gluing painted pieces together without clearing the connecting surfaces to plastic first essentially gives you connections with the integrity of the paint layer. The plastic isn't bonded at all and will fall apart in a few months of use.

    Thanks Jaro. Superb as usual. Any tips for when Vallejo gold yellow (unthinned straight from bottle) is too thin? I was planning on leaving the bottle open for a day...I'm getting nasty orange peel effects psi from 10 to 25.

    • @Buypainted
      @Buypainted  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Angus Allott it is not too thin. yellow pigment has a very low covering ratio. The solution is - apply multiple layers on a white or pale grey or light brown base.

    • @aaronf4845
      @aaronf4845 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ryan .Tepper Jaro has a separate video on using oil washes that will help get started with it, typically you use a swab or cotton bud dampened(not wet or dripping) with white spirit or odorless turpentine and carefully wipe away the highpoints.

    • @williamowens5144

      A more useful response is to test your masking tape on something first and see if it pulls up the paint. If so, or if you want to be cautious, put down a layer of varnish first and/or do something to reduce the strength the tape adhesion like sticking it to the back of your hand first.

      Revel Contacta Professional. Should be able to get this in USA if I can in Oz. Try Walthers if your local hobby shop doesn't have it (then ask why not). The metal needle can clog up. Just run a flame across it (cigarette lighter or candle) to clear.

      Crystal Quimby He used a brush on masque. It basically protects the clear from any primer / paint getting on it, then just peeled it off. He talks about using something wood or plastic to remove it as well so you don't scratch the window. I believe he used a putty to cover the bottom while he hit it with black primer, as well.
