Wonder if pre-pubescent kids could be taught in school about Mewing, and about Dental Anatomy, also be taught the value of 2nd opinions, and that "Dentists" aren't always right, and can cause iatrogenic harm. What's the point in telling kids to brush their teeth, if a dentist or Orthodontist is gonna pull out good Bicuspids later, and ruin the rest of the teeth too.... No Cures in Dentistry, but Prevention (and Early-Intervention) Treatments and Management rather than actual "Cures"
No time they’re too busy teaching them about transgender, climate change and critical race theory. Kids health and well-being (and taking ownership/sovereignty of one’s own health and well-being) has no place on the modern day curriculum.
What is in or near contact? 2mm? 3mm? No more than 5mm? My dentist tells me teeth should not touch when in rest. My mouth is always closed, lips together, tongue against palate, but teeth about 3 to 5 mm apart i estimate......
Mouth breathing causes a big nose too. I always have been instinctively repulsed by big noses. I always felt there is something sickly about them. I must trust my body more. This instinct within.
I think most important causes are allergy and just dusty homes. Allergies often caused by stress and bad food which ruins the gut. And the radiators and computers we use throw around massive amounts of dust around or homes. Add to that that children spent a significant amount of time inside as they grow up, eating all that dust and not getting their vitamin D. If you can't help your kids out of the dusty school benches and their noses ARE clogged, I would really recommend mixing a little salt with lukewarm water and then using a syringe (not one with a needle of course) to inject it into the nose while leaning the head sideways. Then you should be able to spit it out. This gets rid of a lot of dust gathered up in the back of your nose. Sleep in rooms where there are no (active) radiators or computers also!
Great points, indoor air quality is ignored in many aspects. Hepa filters. Am be Great as well as eating species appropriate foods, getting sunlight and avoiding toxic grains.
In my childhold i have generally breathed through my nose. I didnt keep much mind on how my mouth was positioned, so i probably kept open oral posture. I was breasf fed, a started mewing a few years ago (coincidently). I have good facial structure, however mt teeth are crooked, my bottom 2 teeh are formed funny, mostly because i couldn't bare pulling them out, so i damaged the formation. I would say other then my bottom 2 teeth, the others are still slightly off (slightly) but not top bad either. I've always thought of getting braces but don't want the social ridicule for having them.
Thank you for bringing this to light to provide me some hope beyond surgery to lengthen my jaw. My palette has gotten wider however as my wisdom teeth set in I have experienced more crowding. Advice? Thank you for considering
I had nasal block and allergy for dust. Hence from birth i used mouth breathing. nobody knew that affects the facial structure. Damage done though. I am 30 now.
I didnt realize it has tremendous effect on my face, i started mouthbreating because of my habits in sports, one of it is swimming and playing football, i use to also mouthbreath when i attempt a racebike, all that accumulate to habit of me doing mouthbreath in my childhood. bcs of it i have simpson face now haha
Not only Brits, Aussie kids are sent to orthodontist for their teeth being pulled out very early. When I started to observe people to see the general occurrence of mouthbreathers I didn't have to wait long to notice how many people - young and old - do it unconsciously. Keep up your good work, guys! 💕
Can you recommend anyone in Australia who will consider working with adults? My partner had an adult tongue tie release and their whole face has changed shape, broadened across, and eased some breathing issues, but not resolved all. They need teeth rounded out and straightened and their jaw realigned, we are working on their mouth breathing and got a decent chiropractor to help shift their posture - it works for adults too....
I remember early on (at 6 or 7) my mother used to shout at me when she would catch me breathing with my mouth open. She would get really mad. So having my mouth shut and tongue against the roof of my mouth became 2nd nature. I wonder if she knew about this.
I am currently in my late 16s, and I'm dealing with a few issues. Firstly, I have a slight overjet problem, and secondly, my lower jaw is set back compared to my upper jaw. I'm wondering if practicing mewing for an extended period of time can help me achieve a more symmetrical face
Our first child has miss formed craniofacial, has terrible teeth. Narrow, high palate, mouth breather. Horrible nose structure. Second child 6 years later. Improved low sugar mom diet. vastly different nutrition for this one. Child has wide mouth, lower palate, nose breather no problem. At night, during the day. Full teeth spacing, no crooked anything. Mom/dads nutrition is clearly at the heart of this problem. It's partially related to breastfeeding, nutrition of the milk. The face structure due to feeding that way. Our first child fed that way for 4 months. The second one did for 1.5 years. The first one said no way, I'm not doing that. The second one couldn't' get enough of it. Is that why. That's definitely part of it. The first one probably wanted the high sugar garbage formula. I'm pretty sure that is the case. Moms milk wasn't sweet enough. Being a fat burner for the mom and kids is very important. To not be diabetic. Gestational diabetic is horrible for both mom and child. We knew of one example. Friend had gestational diabetes. Mom had thyroid cancer a few years later. It is clearly related. Be well. Mewing helped me nose breath very well. I still need to mouth tape or i snore horribly. Thanks mike for this video.
not sure i agree.. as i begin to move i star breathing more or les trough my mouth depending on how much air i need.. but this is with full jaw suport, and i do feel in this situation if i close my nose here my jaw will be forsed dow... the reason for all 'these' problem seem on what i find that the limfatic systen is overloaded, joint pain, excreting stuf through skin and nose.. to much acid forming foods

I don't know whether people have come up with this experience. I have slight midline discrepancy and a small deepbite. I've been doing mewing occasionally for years. When ever I push my tongue against the palatte and spread the chewing gum for 10 minutes and put my mouth idle and when I try to chew something after that, I'm getting clicks and pops from my jaw. Is doing mewing with Deep bite and midline discrepancy cause a disaster
Have you tried to listen to Dr Berg or Dr. Mark Hyman here in YT they will tell you how to fix your allergies or any auto immune response? You could fix your gut first and then your bite, vit D is key.
@@bookgt8344 taking supplements is just one part of how to fix your gut, that comes later and it takes a lot longer to fix it depending in your detoxification ability and metabolism. IT really you have to watch what you eat but if you really want to see quick results you should be fasting and learn how to rebuild your NEW GUT, which is where your main immune system is and keeps your body healthy which means you will have to learn what to eat and not eat and WHEN to eat and how many times. I wish this information was available and promoted to me and my family when I was a young boy. I'm 40 and 6 months ago I had my mandible surgically lengthened by half an inch and my maxilla also moved forward by a quarter of an inch. While the surgery corrected my overbite and moving the maxilla as well allowed me better nasal breathing than I've had pretty much my whole life, my face still is and always will be overly narrow due to excessive mouth breathing and resultant poor cranio-facial development when I was young and growing. I'm 6'4", have always been athletic and recently found out I still have very high testosterone naturally. I have an aesthetic upper and midface, and would have had a very aesthetic lower and overall face naturally had I just had it impressed upon me from a young age the importance of tongue posture, mouth and lips closed and nasal breathing when at rest and sleeping. I probably would have ended up being quite modelesque overall. I was very cute as a young boy from 5 to 8, but in retrospect after that my dento-facial appearance, bite and occlusion suffered more and more through the rest of my development. I did end up somewhat handsome, but it's still tragic because I could have ended up incredibly handsome with the same genetics if I knew what I know now 30 years ago. May your journey sharing this valuable information be blessed, productive and fruitful. And if I ever have kids they will know well how to optimize their breathing and adult facial appearance from a young age.
What you describe is very similar to myself. I'm also 40. But it is not late for us. Sometimes we need to believe and work very hard for it with a leap of fate. I want to expand my palate surgically and then mew, work on my posture and do my best in this, I believe and want to believe that functional and aesthetic changes will appear if I do so
nah you probably wouldnt be modelesque. its all genetics. good growth does not mean people look like models. since most of the people do not mouth breath and have normal tongue posture (roof of the mouth) and still very very very very few people have the model look.
@@DrSamE what makes you think most people have normal tongue posture? John Mew has observed that only a small percentage of people have correct tongue posture
Where is the evidence that opened mouths cause these issues? Can this be substantiated in any principled way, or is it simply associated by correlation?
same I was partial mouth breather i had ok jaw projection and some crooked teeth but now I had tmj and more breathing probs cuz they retracted my upper jaw and have no definition now
I really don't remember when i began to breathe through my mouth, I always had some kind of breathing problems, asthma, then a weird cough for a few years and after that allergies, I sneeze around 30 times every day and always need to have a handkerchief with me. It's hell.
A lot of children breathe through their mouths because they have a runny nose. Frequently they have a runny nose due to an allergy to pasteurized dairy, or to wheat products or sugar sweeteners or caffeine. I'd start by cutting out the dairy.
@@ministryofanti-feminism1493 i workout and drink and eat _ALOT_ of dairy products. They dont cause runny nose. Sometimes if i eat "cheat" meal like shit tons of calories say hamburger and fries i might feel bit runny for a while, nothing major.
Is this because of the tongue, tongue tie....??? Can getting rid of the tongue tie make things better.. my son had a tonsillectomy after years of ENT issues as a toddler ..how to educate a child to have a good tongue position while they r sleeping
I don't know about tongue tie cases but basically, if he develops a good tongue posture when he is awake in the day and eats correctly then automatically subconsciously, he would do it at night.
I hope so eventually because for now his mouth is always closed int he morning but still manages to open it at night. He has a slight tongue tie though which was dismissed by paediatricians but i read too much into it i believe it is the cause of all mouthbreathers.... I hope someone can give me an insight.

Hey doc does mewing work for me i am 17 and half year old 4 more month for 18th birthday I am taping my mouth at night for prevent mouthbreathing i had allergic issues doc said there is no cure for allergy i had braces with extractions Does mewing + chewing make my face better Please reply i have lost my self esteem I have a receded chin not much receded and i need to add more width to my face Is it possible Doc please reply 🙏
Extractions is why you have developed a long face, your upper jaw bone (the maxilla) has receded, causing flat cheekbones, a tired look to the eyes, and long face. My maxilla is recessed because of life time mouth breathing, mostly when asleep. You can't really fix it completely, but you can seek out a dentist that will perform MSE. Alternatively you could also try to chew really hard foods everyday, and see if your upper jae expands that way
Don't give up. I have followed Dr. Mew for several years and there are many older patients that have had positive results. He has some very good videos on breathing through your nose, keeping tongue on the roof of your mouth (including the back of the tongue), and teeth lightly together. I would not recommend surgery.
If you work with a functional medicine doctor such as a naturopath, you can start to eliminate the root causes of your allergies. This was incredibly effective for me.

These guys have hella chemistry lol this is great
Parents need to parent - correct poor posture and mouth breathing in your kids (and get appropriate medical/dental treatment if necessary) - yes they won’t like it, but my goodness theyll thank you in later life.
I grew up in a society where mouth breathing is considered as rude and just very unpleasant to be around with😅
I have a long mouth breather face and my face is shut a minimum of 80 percent of the day.
It is the night that where most mouth breathers don't nasal breath
I cant believe this isnt mainstream yet, literally life saving info that is just shrugged off. If i had known abt this 10 yrs ago shoot even 5 years ago i couldve been saved 😢. My big contributer was being overweight and getting sleep apnea. Be in shape and pls get your sleep checked out, if you are snoring, waking up with drool everywhere and dry mouth then pls do it. If you dont you will end up looking like a troll, even if you have a decent face when you turn your head 🤮, you look like a deformed monster literally. Even tho im already too old and will have to live with a busted face forever i will tell everyone abt this to save more lives.
Am 15 and I have a mouth breather face already am mewing now but the problem is how to keep my mouth closed in the night
Most people "Mew"
What is in or near contact? 2mm? 3mm? No more than 5mm? My dentist tells me teeth should not touch when in rest. My mouth is always closed, lips together, tongue against palate, but teeth about 3 to 5 mm apart i estimate......
Mouth breathing causes a big nose too. I always have been instinctively repulsed by big noses. I always felt there is something sickly about them. I must trust my body more. This instinct within.
There at the end.
Mike, "Your brother has better facial form" . 😂😂😂
i'm something of a scientist myself
the thumbnail is crazy!
Help them by not skipping ads 🎉
That ending was hilarious! Haha
Mike Mew for prime minister
Laughing and baby sucking on teat is the best ending for the first video
Phenomenal video
Joe Rogan is crying under a desk right now
I had nasal block and allergy for dust. Hence from birth i used mouth breathing. nobody knew that affects the facial structure. Damage done though. I am 30 now.
Sad 😢
Years ago my friend noticed what he called "no-chin-ians" everywhere. Where did the chins go?!
I loved this.
Awesome
Love love love
Bro you saved my face fr
Looks great nice jawline
25 years old
Croocked teeth
Is there hope to see results by mewing??
same for me, my brother has got a better facial structure; apparently it makes more of a competition; me, living abroad while he is still in town
X1.75 speed really helps
I didnt realize it has tremendous effect on my face, i started mouthbreating because of my habits in sports, one of it is swimming and playing football, i use to also mouthbreath when i attempt a racebike, all that accumulate to habit of me doing mouthbreath in my childhood. bcs of it i have simpson face now haha
"why are so many children are growing up with crooked teeth?"
it's only the brits 😂
Not only Brits, Aussie kids are sent to orthodontist for their teeth being pulled out very early. When I started to observe people to see the general occurrence of mouthbreathers I didn't have to wait long to notice how many people - young and old - do it unconsciously. Keep up your good work, guys! 💕
Man this Is happening in 90% of world not just leading countries
Can you recommend anyone in Australia who will consider working with adults? My partner had an adult tongue tie release and their whole face has changed shape, broadened across, and eased some breathing issues, but not resolved all. They need teeth rounded out and straightened and their jaw realigned, we are working on their mouth breathing and got a decent chiropractor to help shift their posture - it works for adults too....
Please make a video for receding chin exercise.
I'm wondering if practicing mewing for an extended period of time can help me achieve a more symmetrical face
yes it can just make sure posture is correct and that youre mewing evenly
Very informative, thank you! But how do you get your child to keep his/her mouth closed (other than constantly telling them to, which I am doing)?
for sleep tape their mouth and tell them that a fly is gonna enter ur mouth if u don't close it ( just to scare them )
not sure i agree.. as i begin to move i star breathing more or les trough my mouth depending on how much air i need.. but this is with full jaw suport, and i do feel in this situation if i close my nose here my jaw will be forsed dow... the reason for all 'these' problem seem on what i find that the limfatic systen is overloaded, joint pain, excreting stuf through skin and nose.. to much acid forming foods
I knew it. I was Brad Pitt this whole time
I've been mewing for three and a half years now from age 15 , I'm turning 19 next month
Every time i go to sleep my upper and lower jaw is not in contact although I'm breathing from nose all the time
Will it make my face downswing or recess , please put your opinion im concerned.
But your brother has better facial for, he doesn't have my charming and witty loved it🤣😂
I have a question. When breathing through nose, should one clench his teeth?
Hello, what if I got bite fillings due to braces, is it possible to do mewing in this case or what do you recommend
You should really get a Tiktok account to spread your ideas
Can anyone tell once mouth breathing effects you so whats the solution to become effective
sadly people with allergy cant do about mouth breathing at all like me if i try to breath throught my nose thats impossible sometimes
Have you tried to listen to Dr Berg or Dr. Mark Hyman here in YT they will tell you how to fix your allergies or any auto immune response? You could fix your gut first and then your bite, vit D is key.
@@crwonshe yeah i used vitamin d for 8 week it was really low now is increased but did nothing to my allergy
Basically every thing we been told about how to nurture our bodies has been tough wrong.

Should teeth be touching when mewing?
Please sir talk about Empty Nose Syndrome

Is not khechri mudra better then mewing?
I think tyler durden was doing meewing
I want to expand my palate surgically and then mew, work on my posture and do my best in this, I believe and want to believe that functional and aesthetic changes will appear if I do so
It sounds like you are fussing a bit over nothing...perhaps go and help and talk to people who are less fortunate and get things in perspective
nah you probably wouldnt be modelesque. its all genetics. good growth does not mean people look like models. since most of the people do not mouth breath and have normal tongue posture (roof of the mouth) and still very very very very few people have the model look.
@@DrSamE what makes you think most people have normal tongue posture? John Mew has observed that only a small percentage of people have correct tongue posture
@@thegreatape5774 lol, most people do. i've rarely see irl any mouthbreathers either. let it be class or somewhere else
that's one small ass table.
Where is the evidence that opened mouths cause these issues?
Can this be substantiated in any principled way, or is it simply associated by correlation?
I got braces and I thought it'd help but my mouth breathing side profile got worse LMAOOO
yes if u wanna know why their channel has n ans
same I was partial mouth breather i had ok jaw projection and some crooked teeth but now I had tmj and more breathing probs cuz they retracted my upper jaw and have no definition now
I really don't remember when i began to breathe through my mouth, I always had some kind of breathing problems, asthma, then a weird cough for a few years and after that allergies, I sneeze around 30 times every day and always need to have a handkerchief with me. It's hell.
A lot of children breathe through their mouths because they have a runny nose. Frequently they have a runny nose due to an allergy to pasteurized dairy, or to wheat products or sugar sweeteners or caffeine. I'd start by cutting out the dairy.
@@ministryofanti-feminism1493 Or hayfeaver which is one that will cause crooked teeth due to not being able to breath through their nose.
@@Ghost572 Which is generally triggered by an allergy to wheat. I cured both hayfever and asthma by cutting wheat products from my diet.

Hey doc does mewing work for me i am 17 and half year old 4 more month for 18th birthday
I am taping my mouth at night for prevent mouthbreathing i had allergic issues doc said there is no cure for allergy i had braces with extractions
Does mewing + chewing make my face better
Please reply i have lost my self esteem
I have a receded chin not much receded and i need to add more width to my face
Is it possible
Doc please reply 🙏
Surgery is best for that.
Alternatively you could also try to chew really hard foods everyday, and see if your upper jae expands that way
Are the effects of mouth breathing reversible?
No
Yes, but only upto a certain age after adulthood
I believe it's possible at any age with surgery, mewing mostly only works while you're still developing
Yes I would also like to know. If it is please say how
Don't give up. I have followed Dr. Mew for several years and there are many older patients that have had positive results.
He has some very good videos on breathing through your nose, keeping tongue on the roof of your mouth (including the back of the tongue), and teeth lightly together.
I would not recommend surgery.
my nose is extremely blocked, so many allergies, any tips for stopping this so I can nasal breathe?
neti pot
If you work with a functional medicine doctor such as a naturopath, you can start to eliminate the root causes of your allergies. This was incredibly effective for me.
Stop ingesting cows milk.
Is it possible to fix underbite without surgery?
I got underbite by mewing wrongly.
I don't know the solution but how did you mew?
@@coffiesmh4552 I was too desperate and ended only mewing with 1st half of my tongue. Now it's getting better as I have started circle chewing (you can check it on Mike mew's YTchannel) and sleeping on my back without a pillow which made my posture really good without any specific exercise for posture correction.
@@coffiesmh4552 also by learning the correct way to swallow (also on Mike mew's channel)
