    I ended up mouth breathing for most of my childhood and sometimes at night I still do, it's hard when you're a child and your parents don't know the damages it can cause which will make you vulnerable.

      Same here. Even if the bone structure can't move very much during adulthood, it's still healthy to strive to practice the proper posture.

      Sorry to hear that. What do you think caused this disassymetry or deformity, as you put it, throughout the family and genes? You think it's that bad you need surgery? How much does that cost even? What will it do for you in specifics?

      Hi, I'm 14 and I have started having braces about a month ago, I have a class 1 teeth condition with some crooked on fronth but it's hard for me to close my mouth while sleeping and even during the day what do I do? I always have to consiously close it and it's quite a bit of a struggle until I just tape it ;-;

    • @subliminalfalllenangel2108

      If you don't mouth breathe like me, you will end up with a very sexy square face, with chiseled jawline and high cheekbones. And being stared all the time isn't really pleasant lol.
      That being said, I get your point though. My father didn't give a shit about me having to breathe through my mouth for years, and kept smoking heavily in our bedroom for years while I was sleeping. I ended up with severe sinutitis for years and it took me the equal amount of time to fix it. To this day, I refuse to breathe through my mouth, even if I catch a cold

    • @subliminalfalllenangel2108
      @subliminalfalllenangel2108 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Cantersoft The facial bones are more flexible that I previouslybthought. It's very, very difficult to fix crooked teeth and maxilla deformities during adulthood without surgery, but not imposible. So even if some people think that it's hard to change, or that it's already too late, change is still possible and very dramatic.

    This is invaluable information that we're just now getting back. I was a mouth breather doe most or my childhood and, at 30, am just getting into mewing. I find that, if you stand up straight with your chest out and your shoulders back, your tongue naturally moves to the top of your mouth. Posture is everything!!

    I really wish we'd focus a lot more on health like this.
    Breastfeed, good diet (avoid grains IMO), posture including tongue position and exercise for function from the moment they are born would help a lot. And then the stuff happening in the womb as well... Heck, even egg and sperm quality. When people are 35, smoking, eating shit and otherwise surrounded by toxins from pollution before procreating, it's almost a miracle there exists such a thing as healthy people anymore.

    Great video. A good tip is filming yourself doing everyday activities. You'll be amazed how often your mouth is open. I film my darts technique and noticed it. It could be when your washing up, shaving, etc. Look after the pennies. If you can close your mouth for any every 5 minutes a day your working your facial muscles and breathing apparatus better.

    And mouth breathing also plays a role in asthma and breathing issues. Not that it is the only thing but it is huge. When I first learned to control my asthma without an inhaler -using breath control (Buteyko method); and learning to stop breathing with my mouth; made a huge difference. I also began to use homeopathy and herbs which changed my life as well. But if I had not stopped mouth breathing, I am not sure the remedies would have worked as well. So this is a very important topic and needs more attention for teeth health as well as many other issues this plays into. This was excellent. Thank you SOOO much for this!

    Mouth breathing is a really sensitive issue for me, due to an accident in my childhood i’ve been mouth breathing my whole life basically after, did septoplasty (didn’t change the shape of the nose only from the inside) to try addressing my nasal breathing issues last year but it did nothing. Blood tests show no allergies to food or anything really, and i try training myself to nose breathe including all sorts of breathing exercises, stretching and body posture, nasal decongestants, mouth taping to name a few.
    In fact even when my mouth is closed I feel like I’m breathing from my throat. I’m really at loss..

    I mouth breathed up until I was 36 - I thought it was normal. Every day I used to scrape gunk off of the inside of my mouth in the morning and thought it was normal. I broke my nose kickboxing and had a septoplasty and turbinate reduction at 36. A year later and I could breathe through my nose - it was like an epiphany. Last year I tried nasal strips and now I know what it's like to breathe through a normal nose and it's lovely. Unfortunately my teeth are still crooked and I bite my own mouth a lot because of this but t's nice to finally have a working nose.

      Posture nowadays is horrific, I guess due to sitting hunched over laptops/keyboards and phones. Wonder if pre-pubescent kids could be taught in school about Mewing, and about Dental Anatomy, also be taught the value of 2nd opinions, and that "Dentists" aren't always right, and can cause iatrogenic harm.
    What's the point in telling kids to brush their teeth, if a dentist or Orthodontist is gonna pull out good Bicuspids later, and ruin the rest of the teeth too....
    No Cures in Dentistry, but Prevention (and Early-Intervention) Treatments and Management rather than actual "Cures"

    I think most important causes are allergy and just dusty homes. Allergies often caused by stress and bad food which ruins the gut.
    And the radiators and computers we use throw around massive amounts of dust around or homes. Add to that that children spent a significant amount of time inside as they grow up, eating all that dust and not getting their vitamin D.
    If you can't help your kids out of the dusty school benches and their noses ARE clogged, I would really recommend mixing a little salt with lukewarm water and then using a syringe (not one with a needle of course) to inject it into the nose while leaning the head sideways. Then you should be able to spit it out. This gets rid of a lot of dust gathered up in the back of your nose.
    Sleep in rooms where there are no (active) radiators or computers also!

    Can you recommend anyone in Australia who will consider working with adults? My partner had an adult tongue tie release and their whole face has changed shape, broadened across, and eased some breathing issues, but not resolved all. They need teeth rounded out and straightened and their jaw realigned, we are working on their mouth breathing and got a decent chiropractor to help shift their posture - it works for adults too....

    Our first child has miss formed craniofacial, has terrible teeth. Narrow, high palate, mouth breather. Horrible nose structure. Second child 6 years later. Improved low sugar mom diet. vastly different nutrition for this one. Child has wide mouth, lower palate, nose breather no problem. At night, during the day. Full teeth spacing, no crooked anything.
    Mom/dads nutrition is clearly at the heart of this problem. It's partially related to breastfeeding, nutrition of the milk. The face structure due to feeding that way. Our first child fed that way for 4 months. The second one did for 1.5 years. The first one said no way, I'm not doing that. The second one couldn't' get enough of it. Is that why. That's definitely part of it. The first one probably wanted the high sugar garbage formula. I'm pretty sure that is the case. Moms milk wasn't sweet enough. Being a fat burner for the mom and kids is very important. To not be diabetic. Gestational diabetic is horrible for both mom and child. We knew of one example. Friend had gestational diabetes. Mom had thyroid cancer a few years later. It is clearly related.
    Be well. Mewing helped me nose breath very well. I still need to mouth tape or i snore horribly. Thanks mike for this video.

    I wish this information was available and promoted to me and my family when I was a young boy. I'm 40 and 6 months ago I had my mandible surgically lengthened by half an inch and my maxilla also moved forward by a quarter of an inch. While the surgery corrected my overbite and moving the maxilla as well allowed me better nasal breathing than I've had pretty much my whole life, my face still is and always will be overly narrow due to excessive mouth breathing and resultant poor cranio-facial development when I was young and growing.
    I'm 6'4", have always been athletic and recently found out I still have very high testosterone naturally. I have an aesthetic upper and midface, and would have had a very aesthetic lower and overall face naturally had I just had it impressed upon me from a young age the importance of tongue posture, mouth and lips closed and nasal breathing when at rest and sleeping. I probably would have ended up being quite modelesque overall.
    I was very cute as a young boy from 5 to 8, but in retrospect after that my dento-facial appearance, bite and occlusion suffered more and more through the rest of my development. I did end up somewhat handsome, but it's still tragic because I could have ended up incredibly handsome with the same genetics if I knew what I know now 30 years ago.
    May your journey sharing this valuable information be blessed, productive and fruitful. And if I ever have kids they will know well how to optimize their breathing and adult facial appearance from a young age.

      @reet-ard1527 ปีที่แล้ว

      Extractions is why you have developed a long face, your upper jaw bone (the maxilla) has receded, causing flat cheekbones, a tired look to the eyes, and long face.
      My maxilla is recessed because of life time mouth breathing, mostly when asleep.
      You can't really fix it completely, but you can seek out a dentist that will perform MSE.
      Alternatively you could also try to chew really hard foods everyday, and see if your upper jae expands that way
