Most people can be rehabilitated. They need to know they are worthy of love, safe and given some guidance. Good people end up in bad circumstances due to irresponsible adults.
This is heartbreaking in a way. To be so young and have your mom say she didn’t want you. I don’t think there are any sadder words. In spite of all the jail time and the other problems I’m glad he found a place that would surround him with love, hope, trust and peace. God can take our ashes and turn them into beauty. (Isaiah 61:3) It looks like Dan is well on his way to receiving his beauty. May he keep his hands extended both to give and to receive!

Dude this shook me hard this past year me and my wife took in our 17 yr old nephew his mom is mentally unstable and addicted to fent and meth his dad doesnt give a fuck hell hes been shunned by the whole family for shit he didnt do for shit his sister framed him for he was going down a bad path murder rap thinking hes a gangbanger getting in trouble it was all because he felt abandoned hes honestly better than i was as a kid you dont have to tell him to do anything he just does chores on his own he trys to find work on his own he even cooks dinner ocasionaly and is amazing with my 6 yr old daughter like a brother honestly i for the life of me cant find what they shunned him for sure he stands up for himself and can be argumentative about certain things like school but what 17yr old boy with a stutter and dyslexia likes school no ones ever given him the assistance needed till us no ones even stepped in to stop other kids from bullying him over his dissabilities its atrocious how the world just leaves folks in the dust once thier parrents give up

I hope the good folks from the church have explained the need for salvation and that he can be free from his sinful past and walk in newness of life. Just being a member of the church isn’t enough.

Yeah it wouldn’t have killed get to be a little happy for him, I think maybe the job has hardened her and if I was her I would seriously think about doing another line of work if it’s possible.
I guess this is one time religion has done only good. Nice to know religion CAN do good things. It's a welcome relief from religion being responsible for all the worst human behavior. Nice story.
