Really tired of all the negative things people post. If it doesn't sound good to you, don't make it and stop making comments about it until you have tasted it. I love it and it tastes like the mole I had in Mexico. Delicious! Thanks for another great recipe, Jeff.
Mole sauce varies by region and even by someone’s family recipe. This is “Jeffrey’s Mole Sauce”. I can’t remember how many Mexican restaurants I’ve been to where the menu says that what Americans think of as chocolate is not what goes into an authentic mole sauce. But really, who cares? If it tastes good, that’s what matters. But I wouldn’t expect many Mexicans would taste this recipe and say, “That’s just like grandma used to make.”
today being sunday have the chicken mole started... it going to be good... the smells of the spices are awesome ... its cooking can not wait to finish so we can eat...
Interesting take on mole my friend, I made the recipe tonight and the family loved it. Thank you so much for sharing! I substituted white wine for the water and used boneless chicken thighs. Came out great!!!
Am I the first person to view this video? Awesome! Jeffrey, I like the way you deliver the flavors. I cooked mole once. It's not hard. You just throw in a gazillion ingredients in a pot. Your recipe looks so inviting! Thanks, as always.
The cinnamon makes it a Oaxacan mole. That's what sets Oaxacan chocolate apart is the liberal cinnamon within. My wife talked a grandmother in Oaxaca into showing her how to make the family mole (no idea how she managed to do that). It's amazing mole. Good job using an instant pot to do it.
I think you have great recipes, and a nice disposition, and your willingness to share all your dishes is very unselfish and hopefully rewarding. When I need to make something a bit different, I just scroll thru your video list, simple as that. TH-cam should honor you for your giving nature.
That looks beautiful and yummilicious. Gave me ideas of how to do my mom's mole in the InstaPot. We use pumpkin seeds rather than peanut butter or peanuts. The sauce makes all the difference. Thank you!!
Looks good! If I want to use Cocoa instead of the semi-sweet chocolate, how much cocoa and how much sugar? (I already have the cocoa.) I really enjoy your videos and your humor.
Mole (from Nahuatl molli or mulli) refers to various types of MEXICAN" (not from Spain, for that of Olé!) sauces made primarily from chili peppers and spices.
I love all of your recipes and I'm sure this one is delicious, but this is not the mole that I grew up with. That one used turkey not chicken and pumpkin seeds, unsweetened chocolate and chiles, etc. It's smooth and dark. I imagine this is tasty and after all, what is cooking if not fluid, but you should look up a traditional mole. Thanks for all your work on these - Love the InstaPot and you've been a huge inspiration!
Thanks for your comment and lovely words! But I do want to be clear I never claimed this was a traditional mole, just my version. Just like no two Jewish briskets are the exact same in Jewish households, the same goes with mole in Mexican households and restaurants. No two moles are ever made the exact same way. But if the if end result TASTES like the dish should taste, that’s all that matters.
Can’t wait to try this. You are my favorite InstantPot Go-To uTuber. I subscribe to lots of channels, and eventually InstantPot recipe questions always arise. And I always recommend your channel. Keep the great recipes coming please!
That looks delicious. I might drag out my instant pot and try it. My friends have made it and I love it! You can buy the sauce in a jar too. It's very hot here now, too hot to turn on the oven (mine has cobwebs in it 😊), but not too hot for the instant pot. Can you use the snap finger thing to wash dishes?
Wow 8 min to cook the chicken? Looks so good, Jeffrey... I'm going to make this keto by using Lily's Choco chips and xantham gum as thickener... Thanks, Jeff!
Looks really good. Been searching for more Instant Pot chicken recipes that weren’t made with Indian or Oriental seasonings and this one looks perfect. Thanks! 👍🙂
I think this mole is more American than Mexican, because the only ingredients that were right were the chocolate and sesame seeds. But either way I’m going to try it to see if it better than Mexican mole
I am sure this is good but it is not Mexican chicken mole. The same mistakes here are the same used in many north of the border Mexican recipes. Here are some clues: Mole means sauce and there are other types of mole. NO tomatoes or garlic, please. We are old school. And, 1/2 Tbsp. of chile powder? When I am in a hurry and because we are old, I use mild chile powder (about 6 Tbsp. to 6 cups of broth, but dried chiles are best but a lot of work.) Some states you can get mild chile powder at your grocery store or online. There is no sham in using chile powder. Or, look for Maria brand mole online. It is very authentic. and easy to make. No tomato products of any kind are used in any Mexican cooking except for salsa or pico de gallo. Not all Mexicans like spicy hot food either. Also, every family has their own version, some with 23 or more ingredients like peanut butter (but, you can leave it out because some are allergic of course) and pepitas and Abuela chocolate like my husband's mom. Hubby doesn't like his too sweet but I like a little agave in mine and he like thighs and I like breasts. You can use as few as 10 ingredients for the mole and it will still be good. BTW, "Chile" is the pepper and "chili" is a colorado (red) stew.
Made this tonight, very good! All the negative comments are a little silly and somewhat self righteous. Anyways, I want to make this again but want more heat. Any suggestions on the best way to do that with this dish without changing the flavor profile?
aylmers has tomatoes with chili seasoning, closest thing to rotel in Canada. aylmeraccents.conagrafoods.ca/products/aylmer-accents-diced-stewed-tomatoes-with-chili-seasonings/
You can make your own version of Ro-Tel if you can find a can of diced tomatoes and a can of green chilies. Usually the green chilies are in small cans ...so you might want to add two cans of green chilies to one can of diced tomatoes.
Do u ever do meet and greets ... Do u ever do meet and greets where u serve them some eats .. well we're coming to New York at the end of this month and me and my husband would love to have a nice dinner .. some french onion chicken soup perhaps lol let me know .. where cool peeps
OK, so I've heard of this but never watched anyone make it. Yet another one I think I might have to give a shot. Hmmm..... the chocolate scares me a little but I think I have to try it.
I made this tonight. O. M. Gosh. It is insanely good. The only thing I did differently was to use my little bit of left over bone broth in place of the broth you used and I used breasts. This is hands down the BEST. Mole sauce ever. Thank you! I REALLY enjoy your channel!!
man I love, no ADORE you and I swear to GOD I am not a hater, but that is nothing like Mexican mole .could you maybe change the name to An Americanized Mole, or My Take on Mole or something?
Pedro Arellano ha! I appreciate the love and feedback. But do me a favor and give this a shot. I guarantee you’ll think it’s similar in flavor and delish!
I have to admit that I'm curious about this. Chocolate and peanut butter in a sauce? I live in Texas so I've had my fair share of Tex-Mex and I've heard of Mole, but I've never tired it. And I definitely think you're funny!
Can I use Breasts? If so, how long to cook under pressure? And where are the lovely chilis outside the hotel? Oh well if I can make this with breasts I will try!
Don't mean to sound rude, but that is not mole. You might want to try hanging out with some Mexicans that know how to make mole. You didn't even use any dried peppers such as guajillo. It was actually quite funny to watch this. It might taste good to you, but don't call that mole. Sorry bud. Not even close.
This is so not Molé. LOL how in the world did he come up with this “recipe”. First time I’ve ever seen anyone use rotel tomatoes or consider it “like a curry”. WAY OFF!!
This isnt mole. Call it something els please so you wont confuse people. Mole doesnt have tomatos amd onion and your missing so many ingridients. Thanks for the video though. I want to learn how to cook in a pressure cooker. Thats why i saw the hole video.
Need to wash the chicken before cooking ppl... And please dont tell me you did.....then happen to put it back in the original pkg....did you wash that too...lol!
Although raw chicken and turkey can carry bacteria on their surfaces, research has shown that washing raw poultry under running water in yourkitchen sink is a bad idea. ... The heat from the cooking process will kill any bacteria that are present.
Really tired of all the negative things people post. If it doesn't sound good to you, don't make it and stop making comments about it until you have tasted it. I love it and it tastes like the mole I had in Mexico. Delicious! Thanks for another great recipe, Jeff.
Toasting the sesame seeds in a dry skillet or spread out on a baking sheet in an oven.... makes them taste so much better and improves their flavor.
Just made this today. It's delicious. Thank you for making my Instant Pot not quite so scary and much more user friendly! Keep the recipes coming

Hi Jeff
Made your mole SUCcESS! I’m from Vancouver and we don’t get to tell went fully fresh tomatoes Serrano and chopped garlic . Was HEAVEN
I love mole! This looks delicious! Thanks for sharing.

I only try regular Mexican mole ,im puertorican i think i will love this one your awesome
Really enjoy your channel, humor and your recipes, you remind me of my family we are Italian, Chow!
I think you have great recipes, and a nice disposition, and your willingness to share all your dishes is very unselfish and hopefully rewarding. When I need to make something a bit different, I just scroll thru your video list, simple as that. TH-cam should honor you for your giving nature.
I feel the same way Pete - "Cheffrey" is an all around delicious person !
That looks beautiful and yummilicious. Gave me ideas of how to do my mom's mole in the InstaPot. We use pumpkin seeds rather than peanut butter or peanuts. The sauce makes all the difference. Thank you!!
This is not mole. Mole is made with different kind of dry chillis and no tomato sauces.
Janeth Pastore jjajaajaj your right! Jajajajja
truth be told. But now I want to try to make the instant mole in an instapot.
LOL. This is not molé
@@flashygrillz doesn't matter. it's really good.
Looks good! If I want to use Cocoa instead of the semi-sweet chocolate, how much cocoa and how much sugar? (I already have the cocoa.)
I really enjoy your videos and your humor.
I made this today and it is AH-mazing!
What? No skin? That adds flavor.
Lol where are the chiles? That’s like pretty much a main ingredients
Great video, I’m planning on trying it tonight!

I just cooked but used Costco tri tip steak. Black beans, Very nice
Thanks!!! ... wow! Chicken Mole' ... a favorite of mine. I can't wait to try your take on it, and the Instant Pot is a great way to do it.
Can’t wait to try this. You are my favorite InstantPot Go-To uTuber. I subscribe to lots of channels, and eventually InstantPot recipe questions always arise. And I always recommend your channel. Keep the great recipes coming please!
This is not traditional mole. A totally different take on mole. But to each their own right?
That looks delicious. I might drag out my instant pot and try it. My friends have made it and I love it! You can buy the sauce in a jar too. I'm actually tempted to try your version of mole. lol I'm just so curious to what the flavor comes out to be.
Going to tweak this and add some soaked and blended Mexican chiles. Not mole to me without the chiles.
Ok...its pretty awesome!
Wow 8 min to cook the chicken? Looks so good, Jeffrey... I'm going to make this keto by using Lily's Choco chips and xantham gum as thickener... Thanks, Jeff!

You go with the mole!Great job.
Thanks for making this so accessible! I will try it for sure!
This looks really good. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing it.
I'm loving my Instant Pot! I really enjoy your channel also.
Jeffrey, made your Mole for dinner. I would dub it ”Morracan Mole”. It was outstanding !!
Holy Mole - I have to make this!
To all of those that say this is not mole, than you make a video and show us how mike is made!!!!!!!!!
hmmmm! interesting. looks good
The next recipe I will try! I love our instant pot.
Sounds good. I'll try this. I'll probably use a stick blender to smooth it out at the end, though.
Looks Delicious! Question, Is there something I can substitute for the peanut butter?
jeanette221 traditional mole uses pumpkin seeds (pepitas) instead of peanut butter, try that?
Thank you so much, appreciate it!
Would cacao powder and peanut butter powder work? Seem like that would be closer...
Any substitutes for peanut butter ? My son has a peanut allergy? Or can you leave it out
Donna M traditional mole uses pumpkin seeds (pepitas) instead of Peanut butter so I would try that!
What can you substitute for the Rotel? I can't get it in Canada.
aylmers has tomatoes with chili seasoning, closest thing to rotel in Canada.
aylmeraccents.conagrafoods.ca/products/aylmer-accents-diced-stewed-tomatoes-with-chili-seasonings/
Can you order it from Amazon?
Donna M I can order it from Amazon but it's expensive. Looking for a cheaper alternative.
Great job, keep it going
I have to try this.... just because you added chocolate chips and peanut butter!! LOL!!
AWESOME!
The best mole ever bro. 5 dedos up ☝
Irak Pen LoL
OK, so I've heard of this but never watched anyone make it. Yet another one I think I might have to give a shot. Hmmm..... the chocolate scares me a little but I think I have to try it.
I like the real mole thats in a glass container....
Yummy!
This looks great! On my list for next month(I shop once a month), I will use chicken breast though. BTW I think you are very funny.
I made this tonight. O. M. Gosh. It is insanely good. The only thing I did differently was to use my little bit of left over bone broth in place of the broth you used and I used breasts. This is hands down the BEST. Mole sauce ever. Thank you! I REALLY enjoy your channel!!

Pedro Arellano ha! I appreciate the love and feedback. But do me a favor and give this a shot. I guarantee you’ll think it’s similar in flavor and delish!
Pedro Arellano maybe he should call it Amole. American Mole
It tastes so much like the mole I had in Mexico last year. Love it!
Hey from Australia
This is definitely not mole, but still looks like a tasty tomato sauce.
I have to admit that I'm curious about this. Chocolate and peanut butter in a sauce? I live in Texas so I've had my fair share of Tex-Mex and I've heard of Mole, but I've never tired it.
And I definitely think you're funny!
You live in Texas, and never had mole?!
I live in Texas and love mole ! This looks delicious, but isn't mole.
Is this dish spicy?
Use the MILD CHILI Powder spice. You'll find the Mole has just a slight touch of heat... but not objectionable.
i am going to try this chicken mole.... if it taste good then it is mole good for me... its not how you get there its how it taste...
This is so far from Mole it's laughable. Damn I really needed a good insta pot mole recipe too. Bummer
You look like Him from the Office.
Jim
Bone in chicken is always more flavorful, so they say.
Of course it calls for a Spanish onion...it's a Mexican dish.
Yeah I love your videos, but this one is off the mark bro. Mole shouldn't be chunky. But that's just me.
That’s a lot of tomato!
Sorry thats not mole, is good but you shuld reserch mole poblano if you want to lear the real mole
Can I use Breasts? If so, how long to cook under pressure? And where are the lovely chilis outside the hotel? Oh well if I can make this with breasts I will try!
When I go out to eat, mole is usually dark meat. But it came with a breast one time.
I've seen people cut the breast in two, for even cooking.
We don’t get ROTEL
Don't mean to sound rude, but that is not mole. You might want to try hanging out with some Mexicans that know how to make mole. You didn't even use any dried peppers such as guajillo. It was actually quite funny to watch this. It might taste good to you, but don't call that mole. Sorry bud. Not even close.
You don't have bitterness because you used morsels, not Mexican chocolate. Have you tried this with Mexican chocolate?? I can find it at ShopRite.
TACO BELL, MOLE. 🤢🤢🤢
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤭that's not Mole
guacala
This is so not Molé. LOL how in the world did he come up with this “recipe”. First time I’ve ever seen anyone use rotel tomatoes or consider it “like a curry”. WAY OFF!!
Joan calm down
Skinless? Such a waste!
This isnt mole. Call it something els please so you wont confuse people. Mole doesnt have tomatos amd onion and your missing so many ingridients. Thanks for the video though. I want to learn how to cook in a pressure cooker. Thats why i saw the hole video.
