About Archie Bunker's Place: Archie and his partner, Murray buy the neighborhood bar and rechristen it “Archie's Place.” The Bunkers adopt their niece, Stephanie, but during the show's second season, Edith dies, leaving Archie to raise Stephanie, and, soon, another niece, with the help of a black housekeeper. Most of the action is set at the restaurant, with a cast of new characters including Anne Meara as the cook and Jason Wingreen as the bartender.

This show was never the same without Edith. When she was killed off I actually cried. It was very touching to watch Archie cry

I agree with you. There are 3 people missing from the show: Edith,Gloria,and Michael. I know I said 3. I meant 4. And Joey.
I agree, but it also allowed us to see another side of Archie. It forced him to step up with Stephanie. He didn't have Edith to keep him in check. He had to play mom and dad.
Nobody could replace Edith,she was one of a kind.

I think Carroll O'Connor liked "All in the Family" so much,he wanted to keep going..but the other actors were tired..so Archie's Place came up for 4 years,and did well..can't blame Carroll for missing all the good times,since AITF started in 1971..

I can understand why Stephanie would be jealous (seperation anxiety), of Archie's relationship, she was afraid of losing him. Remember, Stephanie's mother left her to go with some guy and then her father (he was a piece if ****), left her too.

I thought it was strange Stephanie would be so jealous of Katherine here when the prior season she was greatly amused when Uncle Archie went on a date with her choir teacher.
That's cause she was a ROCKSTAR! 🤘🤘🏿🤘
That was only because Stephanie had been turned down to sing in the choir, and this was a strategy to get the teacher to change her mind. It turned out to be only one date, and Stephanie would probably have gotten jealous if it had turned into a relationship.
From what I've seen in comparison with past shows of her roll in character, yeah, jealous, overprotective and a bit feisty.

I never saw these shows after Edith. Carol O’Connor is a really great actor. I like how his character grew and evolved, softening to the world around him. Really sweet.

Archie B.'s Place was interesting show. It seemed like they rebooted the show each of its 4 Seasons with new characters in search of a winning formula. They dumped Katherine after this season with no mention of what happened to her. Maybe she went to the same town that Murray, Veronica, her nephew and Mrs. Camby moved to.
They didn't really reboot it. What did happen with Murray, for example, was that Martin Balsam didn't want to keep playing the role and do the show, so he left after season 2 and to fill his place, you had Gary and Billie come in. I don't know why Katherine didn't return for season 4. Maybe she wasn't interested in coming back.
All these people leaving and no explanation ever
I get it Stephanie thinks Kathrine is trying to replace her Aunt Edith Ive seen it before a child thinking a Parent is trying to replace the dead Parent with somebody else she wants to protect Archie and thinks hes gonna use Katherine to do it There was an episode of Full House where DJ thinks Danny was trying to replace his Dead Wife with somebody else But Danny tells the kids he could never do that and said he remembers her everyday when he looks at them Too Bad Archie never did a Heart to Heart talk with his Niece but he was never good at talking about his feelings
It is interesting seeing Katherine & Stefanie talking in the Bunker Kitchen.
And how Katherine tagged Stephanie with the apron! Surprised it wasn't 15:45 edited out!

Unfortunately lovely Danielle Brisebois was being eased out of the show by this point. This is one of only three episodes in the entire 2nd half of season three she had more than a bit part in. And her role would shrink even more in the 4th and final campaign.
The character of Billie more or less edged out Stephanie. This is what often happens when child actors and actresses get a bit older and lose their cuteness.
I never enjoyed this spin off to All in The Family. Too many characters. I loved Edith, Gloria, and Mike " The Meathead ". I did enjoy Stephanie! Danielle was so attractive. She's actually the same age I am.

When Stephanie got out of bed in her nightgown, wow. She definitely was no longer the tiny little girl deadbeat father Floyd Mills dumped on the Bunker's doorstep.
She had started to grow up into a teen. Had they done another season, there probably would've been more teen issues with her character.
