Not sure if anyone here has mentioned it but for "Melted", adult and ice have similar pronunciation in korean. So they are referring to both ice and adult as cold (why are adults so cold). This is the first song they produced after their win in the kpop star variety show so some old time fans thought they were referring to the harsh adults around them when preparing for this song (if they are warmer, a warmer song may come out).
While the brother was off in the military Lee Suhyun had her own solo career for awhile. There's some stunning music from her out there, especially the 'Beginagain' mini concert series.
This is a pretty intense introduction to AKMU! They also have a bunch of more upbeat bops like How People Move and 200%. I personally really love Re-bye and Play Ugly too.

As an old AKMU fan I welcome you to the family by recommending my top AKMU songs. (I love all of their songs without exception) AKMU started as two siblings who participated in Kpop Star program and they made it to the finals and were signed under YG entertainment (the same company as BlackPink, 2NE1, BigBang, IKON, and Winner...) I loved how they got the best conditions in their contract) Suhyun have the best vocals and Chanhyuk is the genius producer and songwriter. They write produce and compose their own songs and they are so good at doing it. No one can not love their music. Anyway I recommend yoi watch their first two mv's they have a storyy board so you should watch them as required first "200%" second "Give Love" And I recommend you react to their MV "How can I love the Heartbreak, You're the one I love" And I really very highly recommend you react to all of their songs. Dinosaur is ingenious. I loved it on the first listen - just because of Suhyun's voice and the awesome hook - even without context and meaning. Finding out what the songs actually means, made it all the more special. I always find myself choked up in tears when the bridge comes on and Suhyun sings "Shout louder than you".

I would recommend listening to their music in order of release date. It's really interesting to hear their sound progress and mature as they age(they debuted as teens). Their 3rd album Sailing is one of my top favorite albums of all time. Chanhyuk even wrote a book to go along with it, Fish Meets Water, that became a #1 best seller. People always talk about Suhyun's amazing voice but I think his creative artistry needs more aknowledgement too.
Wow you managed to sample 3 of their songs on the darker side. MELTED never failed to break my heart, both MV & the song lyrics. DINOSAUR always give me chills esp. the bridge part. Though it has happier vibes with its sounds, the whole song, and even mv, was still dark. And HAPPENING of course os towards the past that just passed and you'd rather not hold on into. She was able to perform alongside Lee Hi, Henry, etc. in Portugal, Hungary and Italia. As well as all over South Korea due to Covid. That's not the kind of show that's bound to be wrapped up in just a couple of days, especially since she did do 3 seasons. She also did a lot of other projects, like hosting radio shows, performing live, etc. She did a lot, and just because you don't live in Korea and aren't aware of it doesn't mean she's not promoted, quite the opposite. AKMU are incredibly popular and well loved amongst everybody in Korea. They're artists, not idols, and we shouldn't expect them to be promoted like simple 'idols'. They're not a kpop group, their success won't be ephemeral, they're here to stay.

I was lucky enough to get a hold of all their albums. People complain about YG and how they sit on the artists, but they usually put out beautiful, complete and well made albums. If you get the chance, they made a short film for their Winter album. They sample most of the songs from that album. Great fun to watch their journey and listen to amazing music.

Ohhh you dived into in to YGE self composed artists..like LEGIT ARTISTS in AKMU and WINNER. Both groups may not be as extremely popular as their fellow kpop artists internationally, BUT in SKOREA/ASIA they are well known and super popular in the domestic market. Which is just as IMPORTANT cuz they live there and actively promote their music in SKOREA. Now, would it be wonderful if AKMU and WINNER is super popular INTERNATIONALLY? OF COURSE! that’s an added bonus, but it’s not AKMU or WINNER’s target audience you know? They don’t expect to blow up internationally and they don’t usually go with the NORM or mainstream at times. AKMU or WINNER isn’t aiming or focusing on becoming internationally popular. They just compose music and make music that inspires them and hopefully their music will give comfort or motivate their listeners too. For me AKMU and WINNER had been groups in YG that didn’t fit the typical YG image, which at the time of their debut AKMU in April 6, 2014 and WINNER in August 17, 2014. AKMU had the whole singer/musician/composer mixed with a folk type/contemporary music, but they can also be bright and upbeat. WINNER had that same image of mellow/contemporary/rock pop/ballad, but they were put in that kind of box. They were so much more versatile than that tbh and the same for AKMU. SERIOUSLY AKMU DISCOGRAPHY and WINNER DISCOGRAPHY IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Suhyun has one of my most favorite vocals in this generation of KPOP. It’s just so angelic and smooth as well as comforting af. She’s so young and will continue to get better with age and it’s INSANEEEE. I LOVE HER TO PIECES! The sweetest and also the most wisest young lady. Chanhyuk.. this guy is IMMENSELY talented and A MUSIC GENIUS!!! He’s also just so wise and the way composes such thought provoking music is so unique. I recommend the ark the light. Not only is it good song the dance is good as well. The MV is quiet sad. The group consist of 5/6 girls there's only one song and they are underrated, so they couldnt have actually disbandment. But two of the girls came out in Khan I'll be your girl but they also had a disbandment after one song even though they were known locally. But I do recommend these two videos because they kinda relate to people's problems. Not everyone's problems but problems that are realistic.
Because you keep saying Suhyun is cute, i really want to recommend you their even earlier MVs (if not their first MVs, I've been listening to them even since their in KPOP STAR program so I'm not quite remember their debut track). Ohhh you dived into in to YGE self composed artists..like LEGIT ARTISTS in AKMU and WINNER. Both groups may not be as extremely popular as their fellow kpop artists internationally, BUT in SKOREA/ASIA they are well known and super popular in the domestic market. Which is just as IMPORTANT cuz they live there and actively promote their music in SKOREA. Now, would it be wonderful if AKMU and WINNER is super popular INTERNATIONALLY? OF COURSE! that’s an added bonus, but it’s not AKMU or WINNER’s target audience you know? They don’t expect to blow up internationally and they don’t usually go with the NORM or mainstream at times. AKMU or WINNER isn’t aiming or focusing on becoming internationally popular. They just compose music and make music that inspires them and hopefully their music will give comfort or motivate their listeners too.
For me AKMU and WINNER had been groups in YG that didn’t fit the typical YG image, which at the time of their debut AKMU in April 6, 2014 and WINNER in August 17, 2014. AKMU had the whole singer/musician/composer mixed with a folk type/contemporary music, but they can also be bright and upbeat. WINNER had that same image of mellow/contemporary/rock pop/ballad, but they were put in that kind of box. They were so much more versatile than that tbh and the same for AKMU. SERIOUSLY AKMU DISCOGRAPHY and WINNER DISCOGRAPHY IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Suhyun has one of my most favorite vocals in this generation of KPOP. It’s just so angelic and smooth as well as comforting af. She’s so young and will continue to get better with age and it’s INSANEEEE. I LOVE HER TO PIECES! The sweetest and also the most wisest young lady.
Chanhyuk.. this guy is IMMENSELY talented and A MUSIC GENIUS!!! He’s also just so wise and the way composes such thought provoking music is so unique. The stories and messages that he wants to convey really does hits you deep down into your soul. He’s also still so young too and he’s just THIS AMAZING. Yep be prepared!! You’ll fall more in love with AKMU after diving into their music and reacting to their MVs. Such a LEGENDARY SIBLING DUO!!

I recommend the ark the light. Not only is it good song the dance is good as well. The MV is quiet sad.
The group consist of 5/6 girls there's only one song and they are underrated, so they couldnt have actually disbandment. But two of the girls came out in Khan I'll be your girl but they also had a disbandment after one song even though they were known locally. But I do recommend these two videos because they kinda relate to people's problems. Not everyone's problems but problems that are realistic.

Because you keep saying Suhyun is cute, i really want to recommend you their even earlier MVs (if not their first MVs, I've been listening to them even since their in KPOP STAR program so I'm not quite remember their debut track). It's "200%" and "Give Love" they're quite a sequel so it would be great if you react to both 🙂🙂
