It's funny how everything changes over time. Back during the GameCube and Wii eras, everyone was saying that Nintendo had too few JRPGs and wouldn't stand a chance against Sony. Now, the Switch has sparked a revival of the genre and has led to the release of many remasters, while Sony has only a few titles from other publishers, with the most notable being Tales of Arise and Final Fantasy. It's interesting to see how the gaming landscape shifts!
I had quite the experience with Legend of Dragoon growing up. My disc 2 got scratched in such a way that using Dart's Dragoon spells had about a 5 percent chance to cause the game to crash, but sometimes in a tough battle I needed all the damage I could get so taking that risk was necessary. I can't describe how happy I was when I finally beat disc 2 and got to play the rest of the game normally.
I'd love to see a Legends of the Dragoon remaster or remake, but I'd like them to fix the battle system, let you carry more item, and make turning into a Dragoon actually worth it instead being a death sentence because you can't heal. Thirty years later and I'm still made about it.
Wild Arms fun fact. I learned fairly recently that the Wild Arms series is kind of a spiritual sequel to the first two Tenshi no UTA games for the TurboGrafx-CD! Most of the people that worked on Tenshi no Uta 1 and 2(but not the SNES game, that was a different team) left Nihon Telenet and started with Wild Arms. They carried over some of the main character designs from Tenshi no Uta 2, as well as various enemies & bosses. If I'm remembering right they also carried over the name of the currency. And I believe various bits of lore also were transferred over to the Wild Arms series. Several months ago, somebody showed me an entire laundry list of everything that was carried over, it blew my mind! Unfortunately at this time, there's still no translation for the first two games in the Tenshi no Uta series. They did recently re-release it in Japan on the Switch as a collection but there's no indication of it coming out west likely due to a variety of religious reasons, as those games really get into deep religious stuff and they're probably afraid of people being offended. There is a fan translation for the SNES game, but my understanding is that it really doesn't connect to the first two games.
The soundtrack of Legend of Legaia was something I've never seen another JRPG come even close to replication. Such a unique and fascinatingly fun game. Thank you for mentioning it.
I feel like that title was made just for me lol. I'd be stoked to get a sequel or prequel to LoD! A new Rogue Galaxy/Dark Cloud game would be pretty sweet too, or even just a remaster of them!
What adds to the idea Wild Arms might be coming back is Armed Fantasia which is a kickstarter made by the same team who made Wild Arms is suppose to come out this year. I supported it so I get the news letters and from what I am reading they seem to be on track. Its hard for me to say but it seems like an end of the year game based on what I am reading. So if they revive Wild Arms they can use Armed Fantasia release as a boost for that series.
Gosh, Sony actually supporting their RPGs would be a dream come true. A part of me secretly hopes that Dragoon and Wild ARMs being on PS4 and PS5 is a trial run to see if there's a fan base. And if we could get anything for Legaia, I would throw an entire party LOL
What about games like White Knight Chronicles, Heavenly Sword, Rogue Galaxy, or Vagrant Story? There are obvious Games that Sony could do either a HD-2D Remake with, or just have a Contracted Studio with the Quality of Blue Point make the Remake. They could even look into Studios that Closed down and buy their Old IPs to Revive them, even ones that worked with Nintendo in the past as long as Nintendo doesnt own the IP still.
I am super excited for all those amazing RPGs remakes that I still own. Side note, I bought Legend of Dragoon from Blockbuster back in the day with my 10 years old birthday money lol. I am so happy that you mentioned Rogue Galaxy because it was definitely an underdog top-tier fantastic game.
Hooray!!! I love The Legend of Dragoon so much that I went crazy making my own enemy list. I would fail different attack combos on purpose so I could find out the exact HP of the normal enemies, and also listed how the enemy's attack pattern changes when they reach 1/2 HP. That seems unique, even now.
One of my school projects back in the day was a how to beat legend of Lagaia. It was just me going to the final boss and smashing it because I was max level, but I really like that game. I hope it gets some love.
Would love to see more revivals similar to what they did with Star ocean 2. I loved that remake and it really captured the nostalgia for me while also being super refined for modern times with more user friendly improvements and beautiful graphics.
If we get a complete remake of the first Legend of Legaia game then I am set for the rest of my life. That game is the sole reason I love JRPG's to this day. God I love that game.
If they brought back the Dark Cloud series I would actually cry. One of the most nostalgic games from my childhood and I have like 90% of the soundtrack on my phone
I wish they would revive the Vandal Hearts Series. If you have played all 3 games you could have seen how much this Series evolved with every entry and i was very excited to see where it could have gone after flames of judgement.. every character was able to specialize in something and also everything thanks to the progressive level-up and statgrowth system. Those Games were pure SRPG-love!
Is that the series where you'd attack someone and there'd be just a fountain of blood? Despite that it looked like a cool game and always wanted to play it but could never find a copy.
@@zedgathegreat9122 i remember that the first game was very bloody, but that was not the mainpoint. The first game had an overall dark and dangerous atmosphere, a very nice class System and a rewarding hidden sidequest. The 2nd Game tried to merge tactical gameplay with elements of active movement within the turn based phases.
They actually ported Legend of Dragoon over to psn just a couple years ago, so that may have been to guage interest for a possible remake. It isn't out of the question.
I would die for a Soul Sacrifice refresh, remake whatever. It would tie in nicely with their fetish for live services too, since the game was structured around online multiplayer.
I would love to have remakes made of Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legia, Wild Arms, Arc of the Lad, Suikoden 3, Chrono Cross. I am talking remakes not remasters of all these games, I would pay full price for all of them.
I love Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms. Would love a remake or (even better) a brand new game in either franchise. The original creator of Wild Arms is currently working on a spiritual successor he Kickstarted called Armed Fantasia. Will probably be a few more years before it's released though.
I was surprised when they made a new Star Ocean so anything's possible. Personally I think Wild Arms, Legend of Legaia, Legend of Dragoon have far more revival chance than the two I could only dream about, Suikoden 6 and Radiata Stories 2
I played Joan D'ark and Rogue Galaxy. I can definitely vouch for those two as being fun games. I'd love for them to come back in some form. Wild Arms would be good too.
Legend of Dragoon, Lunar Silver Star Story, Joan D'arc, IMAGINEEEEE JRPG lovers are eating good in the next year or two. Let's hope we get some more Breath of Fire and Tales games soon.

I would do anything for a Dark Cloud 3 or a remake of the first 2. omg please Sony.
I would go crazy for a new Wild Arms game.
I actually loved Dark Cloud. I would personally love to see that remade as well as Legend of Legaia. and Wild Arms.
Legend of Legaia would be a great updated game. Was gonna mention it in a previous comment section
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤ Wild arms is such a good memory for me ❤❤
I feel like that title was made just for me lol. I'd be stoked to get a sequel or prequel to LoD! A new Rogue Galaxy/Dark Cloud game would be pretty sweet too, or even just a remaster of them!
Would love to see Dragoon and wild arms get some love
Doesn't work with Vagrant Story, because it's a Square Enix IP.
Rogue Galaxy may very well be the most underrated RPG of all time.
How do you put the search link in the comment?
Loved the first two Wild Arms games back in the day.!!! Hopefully we'll get a collection of the first two❤
One of my school projects back in the day was a how to beat legend of Lagaia. It was just me going to the final boss and smashing it because I was max level, but I really like that game. I hope it gets some love.
Wild arms love!!!!! Legend of legaia would be nice to. Especially the super moves from legaia 2
A proper english translation and touch up of Wild Arms 2, like speed up battle system etc, would be great.
Wild Arms 2 is my favorite. I would kill for this to happen.
Would love to see more revivals similar to what they did with Star ocean 2. I loved that remake and it really captured the nostalgia for me while also being super refined for modern times with more user friendly improvements and beautiful graphics.
It was such a great remake, I'm hoping it happens!
Great colour on that tee, dude! Have a happy New Year, Dave!
I would love a legend of Legaia remake. But i will take a wild arms in a pinch.
Legend Of Dragoon will make life so much cray cray again
Wild Arms opening is just perfect.... that song! I never skipped the intro... not once
Hi David! Saw the title of the video, and was super stoked. Two of my favorite rpgs getting some love. Have a blessed day!
I know, right?! Those are some classics!
If they remake any wild arms, I hope it's 3. 3 is the one where the wild west dying planet vibe was at it's absolute best
DON'T YOU DARE GIVE ME HOPE, MAN!!!
I'll sit and wait but glad to hear about this!
Thank you for mentioning Rogue Galaxy, I had almost thought I hallucinated that game since it's so lost to time.
I would love to see them do a prequel going over the dragon campaign and possibly dive into the black monsters journey.
I would love to have remakes made of Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legia, Wild Arms, Arc of the Lad, Suikoden 3, Chrono Cross. I am talking remakes not remasters of all these games, I would pay full price for all of them.
Arc the lad collection is an absolute dream
I love Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms. Would love a remake or (even better) a brand new game in either franchise. The original creator of Wild Arms is currently working on a spiritual successor he Kickstarted called Armed Fantasia. Will probably be a few more years before it's released though.
I want to believe they’re going to revive dormant JRPG series but in all likelihood it will be probably be something like Ape Escape
I'm with you on White Knight Chronicles. There was no need to design the cities at a realistic scale.
I really enjoyed Legaia way back when! Excited to see what they do with it.
A full LoD remake would be amazing, but continuing the Dark Cloud franchise or even adding to the Rogue Galaxy IP would be easy successes.
I was surprised when they made a new Star Ocean so anything's possible. Personally I think Wild Arms, Legend of Legaia, Legend of Dragoon have far more revival chance than the two I could only dream about, Suikoden 6 and Radiata Stories 2
I LOVEEEE LEGEND OF LEGAIA❤️❤️❤️No remake, just needs a remaster😍🥰😍🥰
I played Joan D'ark and Rogue Galaxy. I can definitely vouch for those two as being fun games. I'd love for them to come back in some form. Wild Arms would be good too.
Legend of Dragoon being remade for the modern era would be amazing. Though, hopefully it gets a pc release in tandem.
They did technically remake the first Wild Arms. It’s called Wild Arms Alter code
This is great news. I'd settle for re-releases of the rest of the Wild ARMs series on PS5, personally
Legend Legaia with the FF7R battle system would be amazing. Loved how the Seiryu grew and evolved on the character models as you grew more powerful
Legend of Dragoon, Lunar Silver Star Story, Joan D'arc, IMAGINEEEEE JRPG lovers are eating good in the next year or two. Let's hope we get some more Breath of Fire and Tales games soon.
