Redwall was my favorite series as a kid, I devoured those books. Now I can really only enjoy books and stories if I get to talk about them and discuss them, glad to see someone in a similar boat!

Definitely! Getting to talk about what I’m reading is a huge plus for me. The community is what it’s all about.

Dude… Redwall what a blast from the past! I read the books and watched the show when I was a kid.

They were soo good! So formative for my childhood. I never watched the show, I may have to search it out and binge it😂

Great video! I love the channel! I'm reading NOS4A2 by Joe Hill, and, again, The Razor's Edge by Maugham.

"too many books that I'm not reading currently but that I will read.. eventually.. maybe.. hopefully!" pretty much sums up the life of booklovers in a nutshell.

I have a different opinion about "DNFing" books. I don't DNF books, usually. For a long time, I wasn't reading many books because I would quit them within the first few chapters. I had to completely change how I read books. I gave up the "to-be-read" book collection, and now I focus on reading one to three books at a time. I like to have a physical book for day reading and something on my Kindle app for reading before I go to sleep. I don't think about what I may read later.
I make sure to look at the review rating on Goodreads before going into a book, and I generally won't touch books that are rated below 3.9. Occasionally, I'll skim one-star reviews on Amazon if I think the book has some red flags, and if I read something like "the first half of the book is really hard to get through" I won't read it. I really try to make sure a book will not be a major disappointment before devoting my time to it. Committing to finishing books has helped me like reading more because even if I don't end up loving the book, the majority of books that I read have satisfying endings, and I do learn something from them.

I think we’re probably getting the same result, which is great! You do more up-front work to make sure a book is going to be something you enjoy. The majority of folks won’t do that, and then are afraid to not finish something they don’t enjoy.
Reading should always be enjoyable. Great job finding a process that works for you!
