    I used to go with my dad in the truck. Same area. Hauling cotton. The drivers would get the paperwork and have to mark their bales. So they would pay me to do it. He will love the memories.

      You can tell that he’s a hard working man who knows what he’s doing. I took two years of Spanish in high school (over 40 years ago!) and I could pick up certain words like “primero” “semana” “troque” and “dinero” (💵💴💰) so I got the “jist” of what he said. If you’re not too careful, your little boy will end up being a truck driver like the rest of us. In my 28 years of driving (I’ve been an owner operator since 2004), I can’t tell you how many drivers I met who got into trucking by riding with their dads, uncles, grandfathers, etc. It gets in your blood that way. I’m the ONLY driver in my family though. I got into it entirely on my own.

    It’s rare to see someone wait while you make a turn especially in California I live thirty minutes from Visalia very bad drivers out here. People who hate on you are bringing bad energy to you I’ll pray for you brother

      Yea it’s very rare, I also live 30 minutes from Visalia and I can agree that we have bad drivers around here but I love this guys content. I also wonna do trucking because you can travel but when you have a family that sucks the most. When I heard him say Visalia I got so surprised, I hope I can meet him one day.

    You are learning from a very knowledgeable man about your career and it shows the way he explains it to you. You can also see the bond you have with your uncle. Great man to look up to and teaching you not only the trucking business, but as well as being a father figure to you. Keep those videos coming brother.. quick question though, you like the automatic or manual transmissions?

  • @Dropping_Mags0_O
    @Dropping_Mags0_O 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    As my dad was a dispatcher/safety director of fed-ex and a part owner of a company (trucking) it was hard and it depends a lot of your a partnership or a whole owner. If you can make it work, and have great employees then you will make it. My dad indeed left the industry and now works for a multi million dollar company that specializes in concerts and big events here in Las Vegas.
    I’m glad you see the value in learning from your uncle, my father says take care of your employees and pay them well and everything will follow, it always starts from the top!

    Another advice I can give new truckers is when good money starts to come in dont go and finance a new Mercedes Bens or a Canam because having a lot of expenses can prevent truckers from saving money and at the end of the year you wont have money to pay your taxes. The only debt you want to have is when financing new equipment because you can put it as a tax write off and it can eventually make you money to pay off itself.

    Does your uncle have he’s own authority then ? For my understanding I was told that when you get your own first truck to start under someone’s authority, but with your own truck do the work. Is that the best first move or open your own authority do you know which one would be better at first ?
    Sorry about the question , it’s just I should be getting my own truck this year but I’m leaning to been under someone’s authority with my truck so that’s why I’m asking lol.

      He has his own authority!! But if you have to it doesn’t hurt to start under someone else just to open up your doors to more opportunities.

    It’s my dream job to go trucking. But I get seizures sometimes. It’s not the bad pass out kind. It’s more like muscle twitches. It drains ya makes ya tired. But not able to sleep. So what would happen is these would keep me up for about a week and then I ride the waves slowly getting my sleep back. First few waves are day dreams. And then that slowly goes into normal broken sleep. And then a while of doing that I get my sleep back and I’m normal again. Nothing to bad. Just a big annoyance. With a headache. Sometimes my yawns won’t be catchable. So I would be sitting there sucking in a bunch of air trying to catch a yawn. I usually get one in. But when I have to yawn again it starts over to where I can’t catch it. I’ve had these for as long as I can remember. I would try to go to the hospital about it but they always make me wait forever so I’ll be sitting in the waiting room dying until they call me. When they call me it’s the bill lady first. Like how am I suppose to tell her anything ? Even if I have someone that can tell her I’m still waiting. And when and if I get a room I’m still waiting in there. At least there’s a bed in there. It’s up on Google that I have to go ten years without one to be considered but what’s the point in that ? I can’t put my life on hold for ten years to be considered to truck. Still currently without a job. Who wants to hire me anyway ? I’m like broken. I can be good for a while till it starts up again.
