It's apparent that you do have personality of a philosopher by appreciating reflection on yourself. So I couldn't just pass by this pin and haven't got my little remark wich may though be seem rather nonsencical but anyways.. You point on that reflection helps to recognize mistakes in order to find ways to fix them - my take is that the reflection "JUST helps you to RECOGNIZE" considering the meaning of this term

I highly recommend Epictetus and Seneca over Marcus Aurelius, for the serious Stoic. Marcus sort of killed the Stoic movement, partially because he grew very far from its original roots in the teachings of Zeno and Chrysippus who were a lot closer to their Cynic forefathers. ETA: Not to dissuade anyone from reading Marcus Aurelius. There's some wisdom to be found in his writings.

Especially for new readers because he writes from his own experience, his own thoughts, struggles, feelings etc. This makes the book very relatable to readers, especially new readers, and helps them understand the philosophy of Stoicism on a deeper maybe even more personal level.
