I have to admit, such a mind as Huxley is meant to be listened as he flows rather than to be read *especially* in an intoxicated state of mind. (Come on youtube algorithm, give me my late but very well deserved like so I feel lilke commenting more.)
Once my mom and I tried peyote we try small piece that we found right there in the desert near real de catorce Mexico (my mom was born there) ,it was a very different experience from Marijuana or hashish.. To put Huxley's book in context, think not The Doors of Perception but The Door of Perceptions and the icon of that door is The Impossible Trident Solution, which identifies the matrix facility of transcendental object visions.
It is not the greatest audio, but I’m glad it’s on here cause I don’t think I would have read it myself, I don’t think so better to listen than nothing at all. Didn’t this guy write a brave new world too or no?
1:51:40 DMT might be just what he described. It's produced by our own bodies, can be sinthesized, is very potent at a relatively low dosage, has a short time span and is probably the most powerful of psychedelics.
Or maybe you can't focus on his choice of vocabulary and in turn should blame your own inferior comprehension. The topic he's speaking on is in fact all over the place. His discussions on profoundly deep topics of the world around us can't be explained in perfect order.

I liked the first 2 parts but I can’t believe the author said that we should abandon language and talk less and draw more. This makes no sense, especially given his occupation! I don’t believe he said it and find most authors words are taken out of context and butchered
After finally listening to this after so long I can’t believe how overrated it is. It’s a good description of a particular type of person’s experience. The fixations that Huxley has arent very relatable. I liked the part when he basically admitted art is trash because reality is already the best representation.
The experience he relates in this book is hidden beneath a veneer of cheap erudition, which is highly ironic given the insights he claims to have learned.
Pity about the bad sound and voice, couldn't listen to it.Every version has same dude.Totally gutted. This is un listenable and disrespectful to the author of this genius.
somegirl5rock the voice in the video is that of Rudolph Schirmer, who’s website states this about the audiobook’s publications. “24 editions published between 1982 and 2015” therefore, this was not recorded in 1954, plus the audio quality is too good for technology from that time.

embodied experience is our reason for existing, if you need one. you are valuable. you exist so that all else might exist. own your power.
There is no better way to put a trip to words.
LSD allowed me to hear the angels singing(1970). On the negative side, I hated to see the walls breathing.
How!! Wall breathing?
you would rather they died?
Hated? That’s a weird thing to hate. You might not have enjoyed it but hate? Sounds like psychedelics aren’t for you
