Is your Input Image size not printing the size you intended it to be??

- You spend all that time editing and sizing an image to 12" x 18" to print inside a 13" x 19" so it will print with a 1/2" border all around!
Except it printer more like an 8" x 10" situated on the upper corner of the paper.
After much hair pulling you give up and consider calling tech support!
Well here is the answer to this perplexing problem!

Thanks for covering this Jose! I don't know why Epson changed their drivers some years ago to "lead" people into this pothole but I see it all the time. What I see most often is that people will set both the paper size and output paper to the exact same size (Super A3 for example) thinking that makes sense but in fact, that still leads to a reduction unless you are printing borderless. The reason is that it's trying to "convert" the printable area (paper minus margins which is smaller than 13x19) into an area that is a full (borderless 13x19) page. So it's not enough to set them to the exact same size: as your video correctly points out, it MUST always be set to "Same as paper size". If not, the driver is going to modify the size and you're going to get an "off size" print.

I recently viewed your TH-cam video on printer error regarding paper size and final print size.I noticed your examples were using P/S. Which as you astutely pointed out, have that output box. I had the same error occur with L/R as well. I was using the paper size 11x17 and got a 7.5x12 print. When I looked back on the setting on page layout and printer, I noticed that size paper comes with two dimensions. That is 17x11 AND 11x17. You'd think (I'm a novice and didn't notice the difference) it wouldn't matter. Wrong, it did. When I switched from 17x11 to 11x17, I got the proper size print. I figured it out by noticing that the standard paper sizes are listed horizontal side first, and longitudinal size second.

I have a question .? I watched the video you have of printing problems. I have a epson et 15000 I do sublimation I can't se to get the printing right. As example, I want to print a graphic the size of 11×15 but and my paper is 11×17. How do I set that up in the printer. Please help ive wasted so much ink and paper. Ty in advance

I want to enlarge a pdf to be 21 inches long how do you calculate what percentage to put into the printer?
I realize this video is old but I’m desperate!! I have a 7120 that is printing all of my items about 1/8” too small! If I need something 6x6 I’ll size in photoshop or another program and send it to my epson and the image will come out 5.875”x 5.875. I don’t know of anything that has changed since it was printing correctly. I have checked my monitor display, scale, and “fit” but they are all at 100%. I have the proper paper size chosen.
Any ideas? PS I’m using a MAC.

I ended up here because my AutoCad drawing was just slightly off scale (10.2" was measuring 10.0" on the print) and what ended up working for me was to install the latest Epson driver file. Apparently the Microsoft driver that was in use by default on my Windows 10 PC wirelessly linked to the printer is close enough for people who are not trying to print out a device cutout template, but not close enough for me!

I have a small hp 2300 series printer , whenerver I go to print a full a4 papaer I have to select scale to fit option though I already took a4 paper and adjusted the image , if I print it without scaling my oicture will be cut off some portion and if I select scale to fit my Image gets 2 borderlike blank space any to direction(to and right). In control panel I dont have those page layout option.
I have a question. I have the epson 2720, for sublimation. But I will bring my image in, size it to how big I need, 9.3x8.2 for a 20 oz tumbler. But when I get my printed image... it's all messed up. It will be measured at 7.5x8.5 😭 I've tried for months to find a video to help, asking online anywhere I can, and someone can seem to help me. I've done all my printer settings like this, it's in landscape. But it's just not printing out right. PLEASE HELP me.
Create a 8.5x11 document in PS. Create your art to 9.3x8.2 and center it VERTICALLY not LANDSCAPE. Print it at 100%

I have a Et Epson 4760 printer. I am trying to print a jpg 8.5 x 8.5 and my only options on my computer is 8x10. Or full page 8.5 x 11” picture. How do I print 8.5 X 8.5 jog?
thanks man this worked. I finally got the full page of a Bob Marley pic from the web, I blew it up and fixed it using Paint and added peace and love Bob and made a cool countour also. now it's full page so thanks again. love youtube. on the net this was not well explained. waaayyyy better with a video ;)
I have a Epson L3110 and I can't figure out why the paper margins are not the same size as I set them them in the document.
I already set up exactly how you show in the video but it just doesn't seem to work and it prints with margins slightly different and I can easily notice the difference even without measuring.

I got a Epson 8550 printer for sublimation. I carefully re size it and when it prints the width get cut a few inch off. But, I got another black and white print and that one prints the images perfectly fine. It's true maybe there's a setting on the Epson 8550 which is messing up everything. I will check them again and go with your suggestions from video.
I have the same issue for my Ecotank 2803 that I use for sublimation.
The letters on my EPSON 4700 come out very small, is there a way to make them more normal.

Yes. Remember there is PAGE SIZE and OUTPUT SIZE. The two MUST match.
Well this didnt work for me u have any other fixes?
My canon 5100 printer cuts off the last part underneath the photo. Im clueless why it does that. Also it zooms in pictures at print in contrary to what I see in the preview. Anyone know why this is?

I have an espon 15000, I can’t print large images. When I go to printers preferences or printer properties I don’t get the advanced settings. The biggest size I see is letter. Please help
OS? Mac or Windows? If Mac you may have installed the generic Air Print driver.
I have the Epson ET15000 and I am using Inkscape to print a 13 x 19 image. However, after following your tutorial, I still cannot get it to print a full page. The print preview shows a smaller print.
Don't know what you are trying to achieve. Do you want to fill the whole 13x19 sheet or what exactly?
Slightly smaller, but the preview only shows a portion of the desired size

I have that problem but on my HP m255dw and I tried your suggestion but didn't work. Do you have any suggestions for me? It's so annoying waiting for a full-page image only get a small image on an 8x11 page.
No familiar with HP print drivers so unfortunately can not give you specifics. Your print preview should show you what something will look like on the final paper size.

I have a question for you my girl wants to buy a new printer she has a XP7100 but she wants one that has better picture quality cuz a lot of time the pictures come out with lines and them are at the top of the paper a 4 by 6 on a regular piece of photo paper but it was at the top of it
Not sure what you're getting at when you say on top of regular paper. Positioning is a layout process. You control it. The lines are due to nozzles being clogged
She would need to run a cleaning cycle and follow that with a nozzle check. Any blocked or clogged nozzles will manifest themselves as lines on the prints. Clogged nozzles occur when one doesn't print enough. And they will occur regardless of the printer brand or model.

Maybe but maybe not. Different drivers. And HP drivers are not really made specifically for Image Printing any longer.
I'm having trouble with my Epson ET 7750. I was able to print 12"x16" artwork on matching paper size, but the settings changed somehow. Now the artwork is not in the right scale or position on the paper. I've changed the settings in a dozen different ways and it's still not working. What should I do?
12x16 paper is not standard. Did you create a custom paper size?
Inkscape will not print the size i tell it to infact Say my image is 10 inches wide in the print preview its BLOWN UP and cut off on a 11x17 page setup. I HAVE DONE what ur video suggest countless times i have waisted so much paper HELP PLEASE
I would assume you would have to set it so it does NOT enlarge it to fit it to the media.

I have a ET4770 printer I size in Canva and when I print it comes out too high and wide I have checked all my printer settings that input and output are same. It’s 10.25 by 6.15 print and it comes out 10.75 and 6.5. Please can you help me
In you driver make sure to not have fit to paper or anything like that checked.
