Very interesting. People usual mistake PEI questions with casual speaking (like tell me about your profile). It takes a lot of preparation and diving into details in order to convince the interviewer that the story supports a specific skill. I like Michael’s approach to fine tune the story to eliminate any potential misunderstanding with the interviewer. I’m enjoying a lot the videos you are posting.
His remarks definitely reminds me of my ex boss, who was a McK partner at Indian office. The way both of them chose the perspectives to tailor/show just to serve the ends of selling -- then I realized I have long way to go. Thanks, it's a GREAT video.
A guy walks into an Mckinsey interview and tells the interviewers he was able maximize marijuana sales in college by following the strategy Mckinsey used to maximize Oxycontin sales in the US, he was immediately hired. True story.

She's so refined ! Michael really has a higher expectation when it comes to PEI question.
Lol, what do you expect from a former MBB Partner? I also agree with you here: she speaks well!

Doesnt mckinsey only ask about the time you were in a leadership position, entrepreneurial drive, personal impact?
