  • Campobello is a Canadian island just across the border from Maine. It's home to Roosevelt-Campobello International Park, and loaded with great birding and fantastic scenery, but few people know about it. Campobello is famous for tidal currents so strong, the largest whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere is right around the corner. Whales and seabirds come from all over the Atlantic to feast in the turbulent waters.

Love all the tree talk and general trivia. Nothing better than opening TH-cam and seeing that a new Bob Duchesne video has dropped.

Campobello's nature looks kinda similar to scandinavia!🌲, it's so cool, and the bird species too🐦🪶

My envy is palpable! How I miss that area....the whales, the Old Sow, havent been on Campobello in a dogs age! The last time I was there was probably with you, at least in part, more than a decade ago. Thanks for the vid!

I’ve been to Campobello, but never to bird. I had no idea how much I missed. Thanks.

Wonderful informative video! Great scenery, history & love the birds. Btw, Dale Calder, a native Campobello Islander, has a very nice YT channel. His content is more domestic- good recipes, gardening, chickens, staying in his small cabin on his property, walks with his lab. Highly recommend.

For a rollicking good bird adventure, try the Down East Spring Birding Festival. It spans both sides of the border.

The funny thing is, it really IS easy, yet few people know about it.

I think I'll wait until after all the hurricanes pass. That said, I'm overdue to get back up to the hawk watch and out on Bar Harbor Whale Watch. Both could really use a northwest wind for a change.

Hi Bob! Could you tell me what kind of video recorder and camera you use to get such great footage and photos?

A year ago, I bought a Canon Vixia HF G50, which is now my primary camera. Some panoramic and closeup scenes are shot with my other favorite - a DJI Osmo Pocket Plus 2.
