This show is so underrated for just how sadistic it truly was. On its surface it’s a soap opera, but really it might be more sadistic than shows like dexter and American horror story. The faking of deaths, the real deaths, the insanity level it takes for A to do what she does is just amazing

I know it's been confirmed that she really is dead, but just hear me out.. First of all, Mona faints in class, and has a bandaid on the inside of her elbow, right? Having her blood drawn, perhaps to fake her own death? The hidden cameras conveniently caught her killer throwing her around, but we never see her/his face and we don't see Mona actually being killed, and if she knew about the cameras, why didn't she yell out the killers name as she was right in front of the camera? And then there is the song playing as they confirm her death: "Now my girl you're so young and pretty, And one thing I know is true,You'll be dead before your time is due. We gotta get out of this place, If its the last thing we ever do. We gotta get out of this place 'Cause girl, there's a better life for me and you." There are no coincidences in PLL, so MAYBE, just maybe, (wishful thinking on my part) Maybe Mona, or somebody who wanted to save her or something, made it look like she died, and now she's starting a new life far away from Rosewood?
Song choices don't really matter to the story :P But, I've see some recent theories that Mona was going to fake her death but at the last minute, something went wrong, and she ended up really dying - or something along those lines. So, as much as I hate to admit it, she's dead.

Yes, she did some bad things and there are no excuses for that, but she owned up to what she did (like hitting Hanna with the car) and not only apologized to the girls for everything she put them through, but she also helped them in their fight against Ali in those last moments of her life. She took that risk in spite of being terrified of Ali, and it may have been partly because she had her own vendetta against her, but she was genuinely trying to make up for the A stuff she did to the girls. She may have shown it in an odd way, but I believe she truly cared for Hanna, and Mike too. She fought for her life. Her last words were “MOM”. I know it's “just” a TV show, but you have to have a heart made of stone if you are not upset about this, like Ali. But I don't think she killed Mona. The hair of the girl in Mona's house does not match to Ali's hair, and besides, it would be way too obvious. I wonder who it is though.... CeCe? Bethany's ghost? Someone's twin? I know they've said Mona isn't REALLY gone because we'll see her in flashbacks, but it's still not the same. The viewers were actually starting to like and trust her, we found out she wasn't as evil as she was made out to be. Mona is character that most of us just loved to hate, but in those last moments we felt for her, when Ali was bullying her we felt her pain. She was crazy, sassy, slightly evil sometimes, but likable and vulnerable, such an interesting and complex character. I am really gonna miss her. Janel Parrish deserves much more recognition for her acting, she brought that character to life, she made her who she became. She made us feel so much for this character, whether we hated her or felt sorry for her, she was a joy to watch. RIP Mona Vanderwaal.

Caitlin Love Emily's acting is okay-ish but I wouldn't call it really bad (she did a good job acting when Maya died). But all the parents acting definitely kicks ass. Also Aria, Hanna, Spencer, Mona, Jenna, Alison and Ezra act pretty good as well, especially Spencer.

To be very honest, this finale was even worse then when Mrs. D's body was found. Like how many more people have to die in order to find out who A is. I wish instead of Mona being dead, that "A" or whoever kidnapped her and is holding onto her until they come looking for her. That would have been more interesting instead of leaving the fans upset. when the officer said they couldn't find a body, that's where it should have ended. But no, they had to show Mona's dead body in the trunk...
I feel like they chickened out of a good story twist, the original enemy turned ally that was just starting to be accepted by the protagonists is killed in cold blood, and now they have to finish things without her. But nope, it’s all a fake out, and she’s alive.
It's a really sad scene. We'll probably see a flashback either this season or next showing what actually happened before Aria, Emily, Hanna & Ezra got there. I think this because she's been a central character since the end of Season 2 so they'll give her a proper send off. The one thing that bugs me about this scene is that Mona's mum clearly didn't know what was going on and she hears what happens from the detective telling the press? Seriously? I know it's a TV show but come on, the families would be told first, not after the press. It would've been much more effective if the detective told Mona's mum and then we saw him walking to the press afterwards before it cut to the end. Alison's reaction really does make me laugh though, you can tell she's beyond happy! I know that everybody hates her but she really is my favourite character because she's just a bitch, point blank 😂
I know this is just a tv show, and not real at all, but this episode freaked me out, upset me and really got to me the most out of any episode of PLL ever. It's been 2 days now and I am still upset that Mona died. Especially how she died and what was left behind after she was killed. It was so disturbing. The end is what got me the most. Seeing Mona's body in the trunk and the expression on her face was so haunting. I hope we find out who did it as soon as the show comes back. *Fingers crossed*

Look closely when the person is leaning over to place the baby Jesus in the trunk with Mona. You can see that there is loose hair coming out from the hood and it is black hair. It's not hard to notice seeing as I haven't watched this show in forever, and I still saw it without really even trying. It's quick, so you have to pay close attention. It's like when you wear a hoodie and try to keep your hair back in it but a tuft of bangs still comes out a little.

When I heard the words, "Mona Vanderwaal was murdered!" I nearly passed out, I was so shocked! Mona is one of my favourite characters! Her character is so fun and complexed! She was my favourite A that was ever revealed!!! Yes, she has done a lot of terrible things to the girls, but she didn't deserve this!!! I believe that Mona was truly sorry for the things she has done!!! I am so happy that Mona is still alive!!! I nearly died when I saw her supposedly dead in the trunk of A's car!!

Nope. To be fair, most of the acting is really bad, ESPECIALLY with Emily.
Caitlin Love Emily's acting is okay-ish but I wouldn't call it really bad (she did a good job acting when Maya died). But all the parents acting definitely kicks ass. Also Aria, Hanna, Spencer, Mona, Jenna, Alison and Ezra act pretty good as well, especially Spencer.

To be very honest, this finale was even worse then when Mrs. D's body was found. Like how many more people have to die in order to find out who A is. I wish instead of Mona being dead, that "A" or whoever kidnapped her and is holding onto her until they come looking for her. That would have been more interesting instead of leaving the fans upset. when the officer said they couldn't find a body, that's where it should have ended. But no, they had to show Mona's dead body in the trunk...

I feel like they chickened out of a good story twist, the original enemy turned ally that was just starting to be accepted by the protagonists is killed in cold blood, and now they have to finish things without her. But nope, it’s all a fake out, and she’s alive.

It's a really sad scene. We'll probably see a flashback either this season or next showing what actually happened before Aria, Emily, Hanna & Ezra got there. I think this because she's been a central character since the end of Season 2 so they'll give her a proper send off. The one thing that bugs me about this scene is that Mona's mum clearly didn't know what was going on and she hears what happens from the detective telling the press? Seriously? I know it's a TV show but come on, the families would be told first, not after the press. It would've been much more effective if the detective told Mona's mum and then we saw him walking to the press afterwards before it cut to the end. Alison's reaction really does make me laugh though, you can tell she's beyond happy! I know that everybody hates her but she really is my favourite character because she's just a bitch, point blank 😂
I know this is just a tv show, and not real at all, but this episode freaked me out, upset me and really got to me the most out of any episode of PLL ever. It's been 2 days now and I am still upset that Mona died. Especially how she died and what was left behind after she was killed. It was so disturbing. The end is what got me the most. Seeing Mona's body in the trunk and the expression on her face was so haunting. I hope we find out who did it as soon as the show comes back. *Fingers crossed*

Look closely when the person is leaning over to place the baby Jesus in the trunk with Mona. You can see that there is loose hair coming out from the hood and it is black hair. It's not hard to notice seeing as I haven't watched this show in forever, and I still saw it without really even trying. It's quick, so you have to pay close attention. It's like when you wear a hoodie and try to keep your hair back in it but a tuft of bangs still comes out a little.
