Some notes on the “4” era: - The album leaked 3 weeks early and proliferated throughout the internet quickly. Because of this the album did not perform as well as expected in sales. That’s what the person was referring to when they said the album is not considered a commercial success. It was a critical success however and many fans do still consider it her best or their favorite because it features the most straight raw singing. This is what lead to Beyoncé choosing to release projects in secrecy and as a surprise. - This is the era where she fired her father Mathew and completely revamped her team, taking complete creative control for the first time. - A few weeks after this concert she announced her pregnancy with Blue Ivy. A few months after that people started rumors that she was lying about being pregnant. Most people think was her “final straw” as she stopped doing promo and media after this. 13 years later and you can pretty much count on 2 hands the numbers of interviews she has done since. - the best fact: I was at all 4 of these performances.
I absolutely think Beyoncé, a woman, a BLACK woman from the South, would absolutely rather be in this era than the 60s-70s. But I understand the sentiment. She’s very much a music historian. But she’s also very good at adapting to what’s current. You see this even in her rap cadence with Apesh*t, for example which is more indicative of artists that are probably a decade or two her junior. She’s so versatile that she would be great in any era… …but she’s still a Black woman in America.
Hi guys, loved your reaction. I have this album and love it. I actually saw the Chi-Lites in concert years ago, they were awesome. I love Beyoncé when she sings old school, new school, and any genre. She's the best. Thanks guys
Beyonce I Am... Yours: An Intimate Performance At Wynn Las Vegas Was Epic Too & Could Be A Great Reaction, IDK If You Guy's Saw That Live Performance Hope We Get A Reaction Soon It's Definitely Another Great One. Just Like This Live Performance Of 4 At Roseland Was Everything, I Loved It, Especially That I Was Here Performance, Gets Me Choked Up Everytime I Watch
36:35 to add some context on what you said "4" is beys first album where she wasn't being managed by her father and truly going solo for the direction of the album also the first album where she break's out if that contemporary/mainstream pop sound and experiments with different sounds and styles
I rewatched your “Freedom” reaction just because I love that song & video and I really appreciated you guy’s reaction. I also really hope you guys explore Kendrick Lamar’s catalog. His talent, musicality & artistry is matched to the level of the greats like Beyonce& Prince. He is one of the better hip Hop/Rap artists that has been around for over a bit of a decade. Him and Beyonce have collaborated since the Freedom collab and are friends. He also just defeated Drake in one of the greatest Hip Hop Beefs the culture has (which if you’re a Kendrick fan you were so excited for new music because there’s always a large gap when he releases new music) had in Hip Hop/Music culture. He’s very intentional, creative, impactful& introspective. I really think yall, hip hop fans or not will enjoy his music & imagery. Please give it a chance! 😇🩷 I also appreciate your Beyonce reviews, she is a once in a lifetime talent. She is AMAZING live in concert. If you guys get the chance I urge you to buy tickets to see her live in concert. It’ll be worth your time, money and memories. ❤
I LOVE watching you guys react to Beyonce. Please do more :) Can you maybe react to Destinys Child LIVE performances? You guys are great. Thanks again for your videos 😃
lol funny Nathan said that cos I think that too, I think a few people might have sung that song about me 😭 possibly in the bad way, but my hey as long as their listening to Bey I’m happy 😂
I need y’all to watch the full 1+1 rehearsal. I don’t know why she left out the best part. She cuts it at the bridge and it’s literally the best part of the song. I hope y’all see it
Live instrument music is the best, even recording instrumental is better than computer made music. Better in the sence of what it conveys, how it riches into your guts not just your head.
Oh her ex boyfriend has given a few interviews. Apparently he didn't like her touring all the time and leaving him alone. Also, she wanted to wait, so he cheated on her. Boo hoo indeed
Im here for the beyonce rabbit hole thank you for doing the beyonce reactions
No problem!!
