Wow, the way you filmed this is beautiful! I'm from Haugesund myself, but I currently live in Iceland for my studies, and your video really gave me some proper homesickness.. haha! Welcome back at another time!
Thank you so much. What a lovely message. We really appreciate it 🙏 We love Norway, it is a wonderful country, and we are hoping to return next year. Thank you and good luck with your studies 😊
Great video. It is amazing how much money you saved by arranging the trip yourself. It was also probably more enjoyable for you using local public transport than it would have been had you booked though the cruise company.
@@ThamesShips Thank you for watching. We just hope that some people find this useful. Trips can be prohibitively expensive, particularly over a two week cruise. A few cheaper options are always good to know. 😁👍
Lots of people run Haugesund down but we quite like it .. Great money saving tips and brilliant savings over the P&O excursion. The buses in Norway are punctual and efficient. Love a Kolumbus !! It’s a great museum - some of the exhibits are incredible. The walk to the farm is gorgeous if you get the weather. Great views across the water. Lovely walking around the island. The Church was wonderful and the history and folklore behind it is fascinating. Some great stories. Haugesund has a great high street to mooch around and lovely quayside bars too. Very enjoyable video guys - well done.
@CooksExplore thanks guys. I had the confidence to use the buses after speaking to you both. I would always use them now in Norway, clean, reliable and cost effective. I loved chatting to the locals whilst waiting for the buses too. Thanks for watching and commenting guys.
@Travelling Light thanks just watched your blog as going to Norwegian Fjords September 25 good to know it is cheaper to do yourself than book trip with P&O look forward to rest of your blogs ❤
Another great video. Lovely scenery. Really like your money saving tips. By my calculations, if you do this trip 16 times, you’ll have saved enough money for another cruise 😅
@@AdeReeves thanks Ade I absolutely love Norway. So much so that I am trying to talk Giles into going next year with my but further North. Thanks for watching and supporting. Hope Deb is recovering well.
@paulrobinson5614 Thanks for your kind comments, and thank you for watching again. It is much appreciated. We have changed to filming at 60 frames per second, which seems to make things a bit smoother. Norway is stunning, and we can't wait to go back again.
@TheDoddolds Thanks, guys! We see you are teetering on the cusp of 1000 subs. It can feel like an eternity at that point. 🤣 Good luck getting over the line!
Feedback: Your video was really useful. We had a wonderful time at the Viking Farm and History Centre. We got a senior day pass for £3.80 each and a Senior ticket for the farm for £8.33. A huge saving on Cunard's Shore Excursion for £85 and as your video showed, so easy to do it yourself. Thanks for all your useful information and helpful tips.
Angela, thank you so much for letting us know this was useful! It means a lot to know that our videos and hints are helping people. What a brilliant saving as well. Hope you enjoyed Norway 🇳🇴 Happy travels!
Excellent video! Really useful information, clearly explained. We love exploring independently and using public transport. Last time we were in Haugesund we did an 11 mile costal path walk to the horse statues and lake and we thought we'd try the Viking Farm next week.
@angelahorton5745 thank you Angela. I'm really glad you found this useful. If I'm lucky enough to visit Haugesund again I will try the coastal path walk too. Thanks for your support 🙏
@micheledignan9390 We agree. When cruise companies charge over £60 for what is effectively a bus ride, it doesn't feel like good value. Thanks for watching 😁👍
@LouiseNorthcott thank you Louise. We set off as soon as the ship docked into port. It takes 20 minutes to walk into town then 20 minutes on the bus then another 20 minute walk from there. We probably got to the Museum about 10.45am. We spent a few hours at the museum, viking centre and church. I think we started back around 2pm. We had time to get a coffee in Haugesund and got back onboard with about 45 minutes to spare. I think we had to be back onboard for around 5pm. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting 😊
It is lovely, and we do sympathise with your comment. I am sure in a few short years, we will be looking to book the more accessible tours! At this time, we are very fortunate that we are able to this. Thank you for watching and commenting. Happy travels 😁👍

Terrific film, that should be dead useful for many of us!

A very informative vlog, as always, so thank you. Wow, isn’t Norway clean, even the sheep and the “ Vikings”.
@user-lb4dn2ke3l thank you so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed. Norway is a wonderful country with amazing scenery 😍
We're always looking for ways to save money too, when we're on holidays. Haugesund looks really nice. Shame it's on the other side of the world to us.
Some people call it tight. We call it fiscal prudence - and money towards our next travels! 😂 Thanks for watching again 👍
Very video thank you
Thanks for watching
Fantastic savings, im a big believer in doing our own excursions if possible, some of the ship prices border on profiteering
