You forget that the extension can see the number of like, which is real. Based on this, the extension can do a ratio of their users like/dislike on a video, and apply it to the real number of likes for calculating the like. For exemple, a video has 3k likes. The extension know 100 users, where 75 has liked, and 25 has disliked. The ratio like/dislike is 75/25 = 3 There's 3 times more like than dislike Applying to the 3k likes, we know that in proportion there must be 1k dislikes, hence showing 1k dislikes. But it could have been 900 in reality. We only know for sure 25 dislikes, not 1k.
Here's what it comes down to. Unless his company gets charged, unless the sponsors start to back out, unless he gets lower viewership. Mr. Beast is 100% fine. Other TH-cam commentators aren't going to hurt him no matter how long they milk it.

I think the best way for the MrBeast drama to go mainstream is to go to court. One way or another. He might get arrested for the illegal lotteries, as awful as it is, he might sue dogpack 404, OR he might BE sued by one of the people on Beast Games or any other contraversy. In either case, I think this will allow the allegations to go mainstream and for parents to realize what kind of person their kids have been watching

The 1 million+ dislikes is actually an underestimate. The extension works by recording the dislikes of people with the extension to an external server and displaying the count. It ONLY records the dislike if you have the extension - it's 100% not an overstatement because it only records if you explicitly click dislike; if you unclick dislike it decrements the counter. You forget that the extension can see the number of like, which is real. Based on this, the extension can do a ratio of their users like/dislike on a video, and apply it to the real number of likes for calculating the like. For exemple, a video has 3k likes. The extension know 100 users, where 75 has liked, and 25 has disliked. The ratio like/dislike is 75/25 = 3
There's 3 times more like than dislike
Applying to the 3k likes, we know that in proportion there must be 1k dislikes, hence showing 1k dislikes. But it could have been 900 in reality. We only know for sure 25 dislikes, not 1k.
