@@avnisalii8087 You want to change the thermostat to have not only hot air, but all so low fuel consumption (because of the auxiliary heater) and good working engine at all.
Good job. Mine is W203 045 M111 955. The changeover switch of Air Vacuum is not working. The pipe line hose was missing. I don't know how the pipe line hose connection and what is the problem but the car still on running good without error
Hi, I have the issue where the car cools really slowly and has been 120C. The cause seems to be the thermostat not opening. When you replace it do you also replace any gaskets etc.?
The video is OK, but failed to mantion service belt removal. It show all the steps, but not belt removal ? Alrthough in some models you can do it without belt moved away.
Thank you. I will change it next week. Did you have to tap a thread in the Behr thermostat? Thats why I think about buying the original Mercedes part because I dont habe a screwplate.
Nope you can just buy the thermostat plug and play, but I recommend buying it complete, which means: thermostat housing+ thermostat. Like this you are sure everything will fit.
Yes, I squeezed the bottom hose of the radiator... I also left the car running for a while with the expansion tank open. After this there could still be some air in the system. This is not a problem because the circulation of the water will get rid of this air. Just check the coolant level after the testdrive, add if necessary and you're good to go. Hope this helped you.
There's a time and a place for time lapse stuff, and this was not it. Most of the parts of interest within the process were just too fast to really see and take note of where you were.
Hello @DROGE, thank you for the constructive criticism. I know that some parts of this video are a little too fast, I will take this into account when I'm making a new video. Thanks :)
Nice video, i changed it last year too, the temperature was always 70°C, now its on 90°C.
Great job
LOL mine temp is never above 50°C....I have to change it too
Is neseccery to change the termostat to have hot air in?

Thermostaat is inderdaad hoogstwaarschijnlijk de oorzaak! Hopelijk heeft de video je geholpen... Groeten
Just changed mine, good vid, I didn’t remove the oil cap (big black one) or the belt, was a bit of a squeeze but doable
Yes, it isn't necessary to remove but just a little easier. ;) And thanks !

@Jeevan Jeevan, Hi ! To be honest I'm no that familiar with gasoline engines... But this problem is maybe already discussed on a mercedesforum?
@@anthonyvds Happy to hear from you. Thank you very much.

Hi @Mark Hanke, Indeed this is not showed in the video. This is something I might add later! Thank you for the comment :)
do you have the part number? did your thermostat housing include coolant temperature sensor? great video by the way thanks!
In my case I used the BEHR THERMOTRONIK thermostat (part number: TI 31 92) and this includes the temperature sensor and also a gasket.
Nice video t wayne
What was the main reason for changing the thermostat???
Because the temperature wouldn't go higher as 40 c°, which meant the thermostat didn't open all the way.
@@anthonyvds you mean didnt close all the way. If it wont open, your engine will overheat.
@@PaulGheorghe6684 Yes indeed that's what I meant to say, sorry for the confusion. :)
Thank you for your video. Is this the engine 646963? I have to change it but every engine is different.
Yes indeed! OM 646 963

after adding the coolant do you need any additional procedure because of air bubbles in the circuit?

You don't have to unfasten your fan belt
It's not necessary but it works just way easier.
Looks like more trouble than I can be arsed with.
