    You could have just taken the ferry to Valletta and got the bus number 52 or 56. Next time you are in Malta i recommend the Talijna Weekly bus pass at £21 EURO FOR 7 DAYS and just use Bolt...or local taxis as an emergency option....it's much more fun....and i recommend staying in Bugibba /Qawra....it's cheaper than Sliema and Valletta....and the bus service there from the bus station is fantastic....you can go all over the island ....bus is a great way to see the island and explore....hope that helps anyone x

    Short summary from chatGPT, for those who are as lazy as me to spend 9 minutes, without knowing details what is it about:
    The video is a travel vlog by Claire, who runs the channel "Claire's Footsteps." She discusses the efficient bus system in Malta and shares her experience using it for budget-friendly travel around the island. Claire highlights the extensive network of buses connecting various destinations in Malta and emphasizes their affordability compared to ride-sharing services like Bolt. She explains how to purchase tickets and mentions options like travel cards for extended use. Claire also briefly mentions alternative transportation methods like Uber and renting a car, but advises caution due to traffic in Malta. She recommends trying out the buses for a more economical and authentic Maltese experience. The video ends with a teaser for an upcoming vlog about Claire's bus adventure to Dingli Cliffs and the Blue Grotto.

    I have read that the public busses not always drive and sometimes just drive by at the busstop and don 't pick jou up. Is that true?

      I didn't experience that!

      As a local citizen, I can confirm that it those happen especially if the bus is full and the buses often come late or early. They rarley are on time.
      (The only reason I use the bus is because it's free for Citizen with a bus card,)

    The statement you said about efficiency for the public transport thats 100% not true. The transport here sucks.

    If I understand correctly, you have to walk 25 min (2-2.5 km?) to a bus station ( in a capital city) and then travel 1 hr by bus to a touristy site 12 km further. Or you have the option to go all by bus in 1h35m ...
    That sounds as really bad transit !! No wonder everybody drives (' stand still in traffic').

    • @ClairesFootsteps
      @ClairesFootsteps  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wasn't staying in the capital which is why I had to walk! In the capital there are more options :)

    • @lws7394
      @lws7394 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ClairesFootsteps Yeah, sure. The 'capital' Valetta has officially 6k pop. , but the suburbs like Sliema surrounding the harbour belong to the capital urban area. Wimbledon and Brixton are not part of the 'City of London' , but we all agree it is 'London' , right ?!
      On top of that I read that Sliema is the major Commercial and Leisure/tourist district and with 17k/km2 the most dense community on the island . ergo 'City' .
      But that underlines more so that the bus transit appears to be bád ..

    • @ClairesFootsteps
      @ClairesFootsteps  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lws7394 true! It would take just as long to get around London on bus though 😂 considering it was getting me to the other side of the island I didn't find it too bad!

    Malta has the worst bus service I have seen in a rich country. Buses are infrequent, and often late and crowded, if they turn up at all. Sometimes they just drive past. They stop running ridiculously early, mostly 9-10pm. I advise people not to holiday in Malta for this reason.

    • @Rational-Heathen

      As a local citizen, I can confirm that it is. (The only reason I use it is because the service is free for citizens with a bus card)
      I went to London and Stockholm I was surprised at the quality.
