The downside is that the fringes will run all around the pattern :) If you give a little irregular edge to the fringe pattern the result is more realistic. A nice png graphic is also a good solution for this detail
Thanks for the tutorial, may I ask that although I did exactly what you do, the fur grows from the surface of the fabric, which is supposed to become fur. It has a border around, like a piece of fur. Could you know what step I missed or did I do sth wrong?

The raw edges use Fur, which is Render only. So you will only see them in g=final images

You have to apply the effect to the SIDE of the fabric only.
