Yeah Sephora seems to get sheistier and sheistier all the time. Whenever I do achieve VIB status, I feel like it lasts about 5 minutes and then I’m back to being a beauty insider with the crappy promotions.
So I tried the Danessa too and absolutely hated it at first. Then I watched my teen daughter use it and it looked amazing on her! I figured it must be for people who already have poreless perfect skin. But I couldn't resist trying it again. This time I made sure to be 100 percent exfoliated, used my vitamin C serum and then the Hourglass Vanish primer. I pushed the balm into the skin with my finger and then set everything with powder. Believe it or not it looked amazing! After 4 hours it was still completely shine free which for me is extremely rare. I'm planning to give it another try for all day wear test but I would say don't give up on it yet.Maybe try with primer and setting powder just to see.
Same…I also hated it at first use and was ready to return. Then I gave it one more try with the Glowish primer underneath and had a very different experience. It looked very natural and smooth and lasted all day. I tend to have watery eyes, and it did not take away from the application. Still playing with it, but giving it another chance.
I use it under my foundation and sometimes over it and I love it! Not the very first time I tried it but after I figured it out it’s nuances and how to make it work for my skin. I’m 63 and this is a new HG for me-Definitely a fan!

But if it's a good product, should it really be necessary to layer it over a primer and apply it a certain way for it to look good? That's too much trouble for me.

Love love love yummy skin blurring powder❤ It is a definite must for light coverage on oily skin. Lasts all day without any setting powder. My skin is mature and extremely oily.
A very late question...but I am late on this one and have thoughts of getting the balm. Me being one not much for heavy foundations or full coverage, but still want something that evens out the skin, but still being natural, would you consider this balm being a good product for that? (Some even out and minimizing pores)

I'm mostly interested in the eyeshadow pallet - any dark lipsticks age me 15 yrs and I will never wear them - mauvy, rose, nudes with pinkish glosses work great for me.
I bought the DM Yummy and almost didn’t try it based on your experience. So glad I decided to give it a try. Please try it again with a different spf. I used Milani SPF BFF and it looked beautiful! I think your sunscreen is the culprit.
So about the foundation, I suppose the little spatula is useful to scoop out the amount you need, rather than dip fingers into the product? It sounds more hygienic. As for the wonder stick, it's a contouring shade so it's normal that you don't feel bronzed with it (I have it too so I learnt the hard way!)

The translucent shade in Danessa Myricks product works much better in my opinion. Using it with a light BB cream or tinted sunscreen seems to work best for me. Right now you can get a deluxe size sample with a $35 purchase at Sephora.
I absolutely love it !! I have my Dior I use when I want heavier makeup day and I always use my cicapair before I use both .. I apply the balm with a brush… use it everyday and love it ..

My first one was the neutral one, hit pan, then bought one with color and bought another neutral one in the Sephora sale!😂 I know everything isn’t for everybody, but so far so good with using this product! Hi Angie. I am 58 and matt foundations make me look like I am 88. When I where a foundation like the Estee Lauder Furturist Hydra Rescue foundation the bit of luminosity makes my skin look younger and healthier. Matt foundations just make my skin look dry, and crusty. I do do put a little bit of setting powder but I really enjoy a little bit of a glow. I watch several other influencers that are our age and they all say with the exception of you that a foundation with a little bit of glow makes us look younger, and healthier. I guess it is also personal preference that comes into factor as well. One thing I can say is I am not into balm foundations they just feel like I am putting Vaseline on my face. The eye look you created with this little palette looks great. I wear more purples and soft pinks because I have green eyes. Once again, thank you for this video.
I adore the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Balm. I'm 43 with oily skin and no dry patches. It controls my oils like no product I've ever used before! If they raised the price by 10 times I would still buy it! It's such a polarizing product though. You either love it or hate it!

I had the same initial experience with the DM balm but I absolutely love it over the Bobbi Brown primer. I wore it for several recent events and my skin looked flawless. Plus after a spritz of Charlotte Tilbury spray it looked exactly the same when I went to wash it off at the end of the night! I think the DM balm has a little learning curve but I found it to be worth it. I have both the translucent and #3 and think both are great. The translucent is much easier to use and still is impressive.
Enjoyed the post. Almost got the Tower mascara, glad I didn't. I may be in love w/ that Danessa Myriks. I put it on very differently. Smear a little on my cheek from the spoon and buff out w/ the BK 107. At first spreading but then more of a tapping in. Spreads out those dots on the nose. IDK more testing but came home from Pilates and my makeup looked exactly the same. Skin felt great after washing. I did like better with powdering and it worked well w/ a light foundation. Seems really thin layers work best? Not the ultimate pore blurring but over all so nice and much improved.
I also love the Dior Backstage concealer. I do like the Tower 28 mascara and it doesn't flake on me, even working out or walking the dogs in early Canadian winter. Thank you, as always, for your thorough and honest reviews!

Angie, I have skin similar to yours. My pores are larger and I have a tad more texture. I love Danessa's Yummy Skin. I exfoliate before using it, let my moisturizer soak in, then apply it with a sponge. I set it with either MAC mineralize skin finish, Sephora's powder (same as MACs MSF) or Bye Bye Pores. It's the first time in my life I've not had to use a primer (I'm a dedicated Two Faced Primed and Poreless girl as it's always done a terrific job actually filling my pores.). Now I don't use sunscreen under my foundation like you do, but I have to say, I like just about everything you like - give Yummy another chance. See if it works for you with a sponge.
I didn't buy anything from the Sephora sale, you get better deals buying directly from the designers. I just purchased from Giorgio Armani and got 25 percent and 50 percent off.

The Danessa Myricks blurring balm is tricky to work with. I use a sunscreen that is neither greasy nor super hydrating, so when used as a light foundation, the stuff stays matte. I also found a damp sponge is the best method of application. I never tried with fingers. It worked pretty well dabbed lightly over skin tint in lieu of powder. Try experimenting with it. I will say that due to its moodiness, it's not my favorite foundation. However, when it's in a good mood, it can be nice for casual wear. 🙂
Trying to use up what I have so I really have to be blown away by something to spend the money. Your skin is so beautiful you really don't need much to look flawless.

The Danessa Myricks balm is great for me in the hot summer. Not fantastic at first application BUT I look great at the end of the day. I look glowy, not shiny. But skin looks perfect. I would use this on a beach day. Not for dry, cold days for me.
Totally agree about the Tower 28 mascara. I was excited to try it but disappointed by the flaking. Purchased the Sephora eye palette on your recommendation and love it!
I bought the Danessa Myricks in Universal, a balm-to-powder. It's great for blending out mistakes, especially those involving too much color. My skin also is going through an "I hate powder" stage, and this helps set the areas that absolutely need something.
I just discovered a mascara by a company I've never heard of before called Half Caked. Their Totally Tubular Mascara is very similar to Tower 28 Making Waves Mascara. They have choice of three wands. The Ultimate Wand is the one that looks very much like Tower 28 Making Waves Mascara.

I’m currently using the Lancôme concealer with a corrector. I’m using the Colorscience 3 in 1. I find that works better on a no makeup day. I wondered if you might consider doing a roundup of the best correctors for under the eyes.
Angie, I use the yummy Skin Balm as A fixer powder in the t-zone at the last 1/3 of the day when your forehead looks not so good as it did all day. Or I dress up an old look to go out to eat or Birthday party. Looks all good again secret is thin and with sponge stretch it out. Try this and Your Welcome.

Hi Angie, I am absolutely a huge fan of the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin. I use the color Universal (clear) under my eyes before putting on my concealer and it has been a game changer. I swear by it and just purchased my 2nd compact. BTW, works great as a mixing medium with cream blushes to help them apply easier on our face. I think overall for the face that it works much better on oily skin. My good friend uses it over her makeup (like a powder) and it has been a huge plus for her oil control. So funny, I adore the Tower 28 and do not have any flaking with it. I feel like makeup is so subjective but it is a lot of fun to listen and watch what others like and don't like. Cheers to you!

I also bought the Caliray mascara and love it. I used the sale to try the Natasha Denona My Dream lipstick. The formula is amazing, creamy, moisturizing with a nice shine and the color is perfect. Bought the Dior matte foundation 2CR in the Sephora sale. 20% off is a good deal. I also bought the K18 leave-in and a big tub of Tatcha dewy moisturizer for winter. I also bought the My Dream Natasha Denona and the Huda Beauty Empowered palettes. I’m loving BOTH of these this fall and really love the Huda palette the most. I think you’ll notice that the Dior blush stay on all day. The color just doesn’t fade, which is amazing.
This tutorial was very helpful seeing the unfortunate results on the face “balm”. Really learning what a striking difference make up has on mature skin…especially comparing this to what your skin looks like with Dior. Thank you.
In the recent Sephora VIB sale I got your holy grail foundation as well as the DM Blurring Balm and I actually loved both, esp when used together. I watched a bunch of reviews before using the DM and used a dense foundation brush to stipple then buff on a thin layer before applying the foundation. A little goes a long way.

I love the DM Blurring Balm Powder on my mature skin but I haven't attempted to use it as a foundation or replacement for tinted moisturizer. I find the claim that you can use it that way a bit overblown, at least on me. The thing about DM products is that a little product goes a looooooooong way. It's possible you my have used too much. Definitely too much on the eyelids. Also, I don't apply it using the technique you did, which I think is why it was patchy like that. I find if I tap it on and then use a brush to stretch it out it works much better. Try using it as a primer in places where you get oily or as a setting powder or concealer. You may get better results that way and end up loving the stuff as much as I do! 😊🥰
I rarely experiment with new concealers because once I find a great one, I'm pretty loyal. I have aging skin but oily with dark circles. For years I didn't stray from Nars. However the past year, I was faithful to the Hourglass one. But the Dior Backstage hands down the best concealer I've ever used! I use 3N. It's so lightweight and the coverage is buildable . It also doesn't crease once set.
Seeing that balm made me remember to ask if you've ever looked into or tried Seint makeup. I see so much about that, and am curious, but I'd trust your thoughts or recommendations.
I love that Dior blush. I saw someone use it on TH-cam and wasn’t sure because it does look scary pink! But it’s my favourite flush of colour. Also the lipstick suits you and goes with the blush

I purchased the DM and I applied it with a brush and I did powder and for an everyday quick look I thought it was OK. I think the sunscreen can make a difference. I have the Dior blush and I love it! It looks very scary but when applied it looks great. I was very picky in this sale and tried to purchase things I use everyday but did buy a couple of things I had been wanting to try. Thanks 😊

Angie....You've Got to Try the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream. It's spf 42 and Great coverage, like a makeup. And It's around $12 on Ebay, or cheaper. It's been around awhile. You may take my shade, which is #13 OR you may be shade #21. Nothing can compare as a BB cream, at least on my skin. I actually like that lip color alot on you, I'd just blot it down, my mom told me that's the most important step in applying a lipstick...and she's right.

I love JI powders. Been using the Pressed for nearly 20 yrs. Just tried the Amazing loose and still deciding on it.
BareMinerals powder has been my go-to for 20+ years. Pores, and moody rosacea, are pretty well tamed.
But my favorite is the lip products on you. I’m really impressed with the longevity and the shade lights up your skin!

Matt foundations just make my skin look dry, and crusty. I do do put a little bit of setting powder but I really enjoy a little bit of a glow. I watch several other influencers that are our age and they all say with the exception of you that a foundation with a little bit of glow makes us look younger, and healthier. I guess it is also personal preference that comes into factor as well. One thing I can say is I am not into balm foundations they just feel like I am putting Vaseline on my face. The eye look you created with this little palette looks great. I wear more purples and soft pinks because I have green eyes. Once again, thank you for this video.
The Dior concealer and blush look beautiful on you and held up amazing after a full day! The Sephora eyeshadow palette was also surprisingly nice.
I adore the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin Balm. I'm 43 with oily skin and no dry patches. It controls my oils like no product I've ever used before! If they raised the price by 10 times I would still buy it! It's such a polarizing product though. You either love it or hate it!

I had the same initial experience with the DM balm but I absolutely love it over the Bobbi Brown primer. I wore it for several recent events and my skin looked flawless. Plus after a spritz of Charlotte Tilbury spray it looked exactly the same when I went to wash it off at the end of the night! I think the DM balm has a little learning curve but I found it to be worth it. I have both the translucent and #3 and think both are great. The translucent is much easier to use and still is impressive.

Enjoyed the post. Almost got the Tower mascara, glad I didn't. I may be in love w/ that Danessa Myriks. I put it on very differently. Smear a little on my cheek from the spoon and buff out w/ the BK 107. At first spreading but then more of a tapping in. Spreads out those dots on the nose. IDK more testing but came home from Pilates and my makeup looked exactly the same. Skin felt great after washing. I did like better with powdering and it worked well w/ a light foundation. Seems really thin layers work best? Not the ultimate pore blurring but over all so nice and much improved.
I also love the Dior Backstage concealer. I do like the Tower 28 mascara and it doesn't flake on me, even working out or walking the dogs in early Canadian winter. Thank you, as always, for your thorough and honest reviews!

Angie, I have skin similar to yours. My pores are larger and I have a tad more texture. I love Danessa's Yummy Skin. I exfoliate before using it, let my moisturizer soak in, then apply it with a sponge. I set it with either MAC mineralize skin finish, Sephora's powder (same as MACs MSF) or Bye Bye Pores. It's the first time in my life I've not had to use a primer (I'm a dedicated Two Faced Primed and Poreless girl as it's always done a terrific job actually filling my pores.). Now I don't use sunscreen under my foundation like you do, but I have to say, I like just about everything you like - give Yummy another chance. See if it works for you with a sponge.
I didn't buy anything from the Sephora sale, you get better deals buying directly from the designers. I just purchased from Giorgio Armani and got 25 percent and 50 percent off.
I just bought the palette -- can't beat it for $8! I am on the verge of tossing some old palettes that I either don't love, don't use, or have gone through the best colors, so the timing was great. Thank you for another great video with your honest, no BS opinions!

The Danessa Myricks blurring balm is tricky to work with. I use a sunscreen that is neither greasy nor super hydrating, so when used as a light foundation, the stuff stays matte. I also found a damp sponge is the best method of application. I never tried with fingers. It worked pretty well dabbed lightly over skin tint in lieu of powder. Try experimenting with it. I will say that due to its moodiness, it's not my favorite foundation. However, when it's in a good mood, it can be nice for casual wear. 🙂

The Danessa Myricks balm is great for me in the hot summer. Not fantastic at first application BUT I look great at the end of the day. I look glowy, not shiny. But skin looks perfect. I would use this on a beach day.
Not for dry, cold days for me.

I bought the Danessa Myricks in Universal, a balm-to-powder. It's great for blending out mistakes, especially those involving too much color. My skin also is going through an "I hate powder" stage, and this helps set the areas that absolutely need something.
I just discovered a mascara by a company I've never heard of before called Half Caked. Their Totally Tubular Mascara is very similar to Tower 28 Making Waves Mascara. They have choice of three wands. The Ultimate Wand is the one that looks very much like Tower 28 Making Waves Mascara.
Thank you for another informative video! Many of your recommendations have been home runs for me, especially your skincare and foundation recommendations. I’m currently using the Lancôme concealer with a corrector. I’m using the Colorscience 3 in 1. I find that works better on a no makeup day. I wondered if you might consider doing a roundup of the best correctors for under the eyes.
I’ve used the Colorscience 3 in 1 for years and love it! Worth the spendy price point!
The Pixi corrector is a good one. I've been using it for years. I first learned about it (many years ago) from Emily Noel.
Been loving the Bobby brown one in stick form lately! Layers very well, Stephanie Marie recommends it and I like having it in my collection.
Angie, I use the yummy Skin Balm as A fixer powder in the t-zone at the last 1/3 of the day when your forehead looks not so good as it did all day. Or I dress up an old look to go out to eat or Birthday party. Looks all good again secret is thin and with sponge stretch it out. Try this and Your Welcome.

Thanks always for honest reviews. The foundation is a big no. Big Dior fan and have that blush. I thought of it as a Spring and Summer look, but now I see it can work in any season. Really surprised about the eyeshadow. You didn’t seem to have any issues with kick up or fall out so I am feeling a need to try it!

Hi Angie, I am absolutely a huge fan of the Danessa Myricks Yummy Skin. I use the color Universal (clear) under my eyes before putting on my concealer and it has been a game changer. I swear by it and just purchased my 2nd compact. BTW, works great as a mixing medium with cream blushes to help them apply easier on our face. I think overall for the face that it works much better on oily skin. My good friend uses it over her makeup (like a powder) and it has been a huge plus for her oil control. So funny, I adore the Tower 28 and do not have any flaking with it. I feel like makeup is so subjective but it is a lot of fun to listen and watch what others like and don't like. Cheers to you!

Angie, wondering what you wear under foundation when you’re going out at night and don’t need sunscreen? The eye makeup tutorial was much appreciated! The price on it was too good to pass up. I also bought the Caliray mascara and love it. I used the sale to try the Natasha Denona My Dream lipstick. The formula is amazing, creamy, moisturizing with a nice shine and the color is perfect. Bought the Dior matte foundation 2CR in the Sephora sale. 20% off is a good deal. I also bought the K18 leave-in and a big tub of Tatcha dewy moisturizer for winter. I also bought the My Dream Natasha Denona and the Huda Beauty Empowered palettes. I’m loving BOTH of these this fall and really love the Huda palette the most. I think you’ll notice that the Dior blush stay on all day. The color just doesn’t fade, which is amazing.
This tutorial was very helpful seeing the unfortunate results on the face “balm”. Really learning what a striking difference make up has on mature skin…especially comparing this to what your skin looks like with Dior. Thank you.
In the recent Sephora VIB sale I got your holy grail foundation as well as the DM Blurring Balm and I actually loved both, esp when used together. I watched a bunch of reviews before using the DM and used a dense foundation brush to stipple then buff on a thin layer before applying the foundation. A little goes a long way.

I love the DM Blurring Balm Powder on my mature skin but I haven't attempted to use it as a foundation or replacement for tinted moisturizer. I find the claim that you can use it that way a bit overblown, at least on me. The thing about DM products is that a little product goes a looooooooong way. It's possible you my have used too much. Definitely too much on the eyelids. Also, I don't apply it using the technique you did, which I think is why it was patchy like that. I find if I tap it on and then use a brush to stretch it out it works much better. Try using it as a primer in places where you get oily or as a setting powder or concealer. You may get better results that way and end up loving the stuff as much as I do! 😊🥰

I rarely experiment with new concealers because once I find a great one, I'm pretty loyal. I have aging skin but oily with dark circles. For years I didn't stray from Nars. However the past year, I was faithful to the Hourglass one. But the Dior Backstage hands down the best concealer I've ever used! I use 3N. It's so lightweight and the coverage is buildable . It also doesn't crease once set.
Seeing that balm made me remember to ask if you've ever looked into or tried Seint makeup. I see so much about that, and am curious, but I'd trust your thoughts or recommendations.

I love that Dior blush. I saw someone use it on TH-cam and wasn’t sure because it does look scary pink! But it’s my favourite flush of colour. Also the lipstick suits you and goes with the blush

I purchased the DM and I applied it with a brush and I did powder and for an everyday quick look I thought it was OK. I think the sunscreen can make a difference. I have the Dior blush and I love it! It looks very scary but when applied it looks great. I was very picky in this sale and tried to purchase things I use everyday but did buy a couple of things I had been wanting to try. Thanks 😊

Angie....You've Got to Try the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream. It's spf 42 and Great coverage, like a makeup. And It's around $12 on Ebay, or cheaper. It's been around awhile. You may take my shade, which is #13 OR you may be shade #21. Nothing can compare as a BB cream, at least on my skin. I actually like that lip color alot on you, I'd just blot it down, my mom told me that's the most important step in applying a lipstick...and she's right.
