I'd like to see the "flatten buildings" functionality from stronghold (toggled by space in sh1 and shc) in all 2D isometric rts games. Since it flattens terrain elevation, it would also help finding those 1 tile gaps between buildings.
8: Never had an issue with setting a TC rally point on trees 7: Never had this issue either but that's because I use the garrison hotkey. I didn't even know about this ALT garrisoning thing. 6: Yeah clicking things behind buildings is annoying. Mostly when you want to target villagers building a castle, or straggler trees behind your TC. 5: I agree so bad 4: I agree. However, I don't think a move command is needed just for this rare issue. 3: Pretty useless imo, control groups and the minimap are more than enough. 2: I think the standard UI is great though, I don't see why one would want to change it. 1: Shift and Ctrl aren't exactly symmetrical because Ctrl + box selection will only add military units to the current selection. I don't think it's easier to double click by accident than to ctrl click by accident. However, it's really annoying when you try to double click military units and you end up sending all your villagers to die, as you mentioned. I wish there was some fix for that. Double click + shift stacks in AOE2.
"I don't think it's easier to double click by accident than ctrl click by accident." I disagree so, so much. It's extremely easy to accidentally double click while ctrl + click is very much an intentional combo. Even pros make them mistake to double click by accident, and if the guys with the best unit control do, you bet everyone else is susceptible to do it. Meanwhile I've never seen any pro accidentally ctrl clicking all their units in StarCraft for example.
8. The one with right clicking on trees really feels like a weird issue that should never happen. If we are clicking in the middle of the forest, where there is 0 free space, why is the game selecting some empty ground between tiles, instead of a tree tile. 6. I agree they should add a modifier for clicking behind a building, in userpatch (cd version aoe2 fan patched) i think you could hold shift or hold ctrl and it will select the building which is behind. 4. the walking over farms issue, As well as many others, has been finally FIXED in a way, the july patch added the ALT modifier key. you can use ALT + right click to issue a move command when right clicking anything, so you could be holding ALT, and right clicking on enemy farms, houses, Castles, but your units will prioritize moving there (or attacking units which are behind those buildings, which solves probably the BIGGEST issue ever in competitive which is not being able to right click units behind Castle foundations) 1. Hmm i'm actually not sure I understand, what you mean by the statement 6:28 "in age games ctrl does the same thing as shift" when you just mentioned that 6:23 in Blizzard games ctrl-click also does the same thing as shift-click?
Camera hotkeys are amazing but I only use them for cnc since they were the first to introduce them so i can quickly scan my opponent base. Never knew starcraft had them since bw.

Yeah, it really sucks no other game thought of it, to my knowledge
What I want most is a hotkey to cancel the last unit or technology in the queue
I honestly thought I was watching a SpiritOfTheLaw video for the first five minutes! xD
Good job, I guess!

Ty sir
How often do you see a video where you agree with literally everything in it exactly ?

That tree fuckup with the tc happens to me all the time.
