  • They are incredibly similar and yet totally different, do you have a preference?

Prugna means "Plum" (as the fruit). I know it's not a sound used in English, but the gn sound is soft not hard: it's the same sound as the Spanish ñ.

These pens so gorgeously looking, I like them all. But I ordered myself Furore, because I like rounded end

I bought the Momento Zero after I got the Monnman M800 and found out that it was "inspired" by the LMZ. I like this Art Deco based design. The LMZ is prettier than the M800 but since both have a Bock nib, the writing experience is pretty similar. So now I can take the M800 as an inexpensive EDC and I can reserve the LMZ for more special occasions.

You just inspired me to take out my Leonardos and have a little play. Thanks! :)

I have a Magico in the Miele finish. I like it a lot. Smooth and reliable writer. I prefer the older ink window design that I can see while capped.

I'm surprised that two similar pens, one converter fill, the other with a piston, are priced identically. Any explanations out there?

Interesting comparison. I have a LMZ Grande Pura demonstrator, and it's a really lovely piece of work - I just wish I liked their nibs more. I might see if I can get mine ground finer, because it's the chonkiest fine I have ever seen.

I'm a big fan of Leonardo pens, but that step down at the bottom of the cap is one of the clunkiest design choices I've seen. (I do have it on one or more Leonardo pens, so it's not a deal breaker for me.) I have one of the earlier Magico pens where the ink window is larger and partially shows when the pen is capped, and I prefer the newer model where the ink window is fully hidden. Leonardo keeps tweaking their designs...which is good, but not always good if you purchase an early version. The most significant difference in these pens for me is the filling system, and while I prefer a converter fill over a piston fill, I may have to get a second Magico because of the emerald color.

I really like the Magico. The color you choose looks a lot like the Pelikan M805 Ocean Swirl.

Prugna is pronounced 'prune-ya' (roughly). The g is a modifier, and not sounded. HTH.

I just bought the Pilot custom 823 Amber coloured fp in M nib. So I am lóoking for my next pen already and have considered the Leonardo momento pens as they are wet smooth writers. I have tried a sailor nib on my Taccia Spotlight in a stub and dont mind the firmness. Im wondering if I should delve into my first bird, a smaller Pelikan!,🥰🪶🦤 I dont like the light feel of the acrylic pens and want a pen with some weight but Im willing to be ok for that if the build quality is exceptional.
    What are your thoughts?
