Friday November 22, 1963. I was a 13 years old, an 8th Grade Jr. High Student in Los Angeles. It was one of the worst days of my life, to find our our President had been brutally shot dead while I was in school. I was in gym class and everyone who was in all the gym classes were directed to sit down on the play yard to wait and listen for an annoucement from our Principal over loudspeakers. The effect on the entire student body was horrific, people crying, and teachers totally shocked, normal teaching impossible the rest of the day. My mother always picked me up in our family car from school. As I was walking out of school, I prayed that somehow it had all been a socialogical experiment to see how students would react to such news. When I got to the car I asked my mother if the news was true. That's when I knew for sure that President Kennedy was really dead. It changed history, and has haunted me all the years since. In 2013, at 63 years old I went back to my Junior High to be in the exact spot on the playground where I heard the news 50 years earlier. I'm 71 years old now, still haunted by such a loss.

The fact that Abraham Zapurder kept filming and kept his camera directly on the President and didn't duck or drop or just completely lose focus and look around for a shooter is amazing. If it was me in 1963 seeing JFK make that tortured awkward motion with his two hands after getting hit the first time, I would have been frozen then a millisecond after the head shot, I would have hit the deck and ran for cover. Imagine if there were today's tech back then.

@@Renyrain1 it’s called The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealy Plaza it’s the actual bookstore from which Lee Harvey Oswald shot fire at JFK. The actual window is covered by glass but it shows how the boxes were set up when he left the gun and the gun is displayed there too.

Remember that the trees at the base of the School Book Depository Building were much smaller and shorter at the time of the assassination. I don't think they were an obstacle to the shooter.
