What always works good for me at quarry lakes for trout is garlic scented rainbow powerbait with a pink plastic micetail on a treble hook and 20 inch leader. This caught me quite a few. Also at Quarry, i never cast out that far, for some reason the fish are only 20 to 25 feet out.
Double the enticement. Assuming fisherman's row, yes there seems to be a narrow channel the fish like to hang out. Will try that combo next time. This is great to share these options. Thanks for sharing and watching.
I have fished quarry since they started planting. Rode my bike from the house all the time.worm and a mallow. Go buy a bag of jet puff mini mallows from safeway and large crawlers from MR mikeys grocery store in niles. pinch off 1/3 of the worm usually right at the ring of the worm. put the hook through just a small part of the ring ( dont thread the entire worm on the hook you want it to dangle and move), slide it up the hook and past the knot. get the mallow and put it through the middle of the mallow and give it a half turn and snug it down to cover the hook. Slide the worm down until you feel it pop over the eye of the hook. BAM. fish on. give it a shot. that is all i use especially there. give it a shot and put it on video!!! trust me!!!!! I have caught hundreds of fish there, trout, cats, bass, carp. good luck buddy. we call it a niles sandwich
@@anglerslifestyle4321 not my own, learned it from the old timers. Works great at all lakes and especially in the alpine lakes. It is the go to. I feel defeated when I have to try power bait. LOL. You should try the spot i described in a comment a bit ago. Walk towards the point. Not the corner where the fish plant tube is but on the other side looking at mission peak. go down there and walk 50 ft towards the point. Favorite spot at quarry.
I only use an Owner brand #10 mosquito hook. It's light and works well with trout dough, mice tails and power eggs. You can go to www.anglerslifestyle.com and find everything you need for trout fishing, products we use are all there. Thank you for watching.
Nice video! Just wondering is 24 inch leader is too long for Quarry. It seems pretty shallow there. I was at Temescal on Saturday and caught one trout on white eggs. The guy next to me caught his 2 on powerbait and mice tail. There was about a total of 15 caught that morning around the whole lake. Kind of low for a recent plant. Keep the videos coming I follow a lot of your techniques as well. Hopefully, I'll catch you at a lake one day. Planning to go to Don Castro this weekend.
24 inch is all purpose when casting far at Quarry fisherman's row fishing for larger Lassens. Try mini-jigs at Temescal when fishing for state planted fish. For DC, no more than 18" works best. Lake is not deep at all. Thanks for watching.
I've used everything from mini jig, spinners, micetails, worms, power worms, real worms, trout magnet, power eggs, and of course, power bait. Thanks for watching.
@@anglerslifestyle4321 temescal is a really good lake b/c it's so small but there is a lot of pressure at some times. Well i got a new ultra light setup i got an okuma ceymar c-10 and got an OKuma celilo ultralight do you approve
Shadow Cliff's is a good place as well. Further south, after this weekend, there will be newly planted trout at Sandy Wool. Good luck and thank you for watching.
when you drive in go left. turn down the right like you are going the point. the first corner on your left go down there. use worm and a marshmallow. good luck

Good to see another vid Carlos! Thx for posting brother👍🏼😎
Thanks Matt. God gave me a 2nd pass in life so I will do my best to help as many anglers to catch fish. Just keep me in your prayers.
Good video. I just subscribed to your channel
Thank you for watching.
Nice vid. Yesterday I went surf perch fishing in Santa Cruz and got 12 fish. They taste great panko fried
I hope to do that soon. Kindly share with us your rig setup so we too can aspire to your level of angling. Thank you for watching.
sliding sinker above an 18 inch leader, which is a single size 4 hook with a bloody colored Berkley sandworm hooked like a jig.

So your own version of a micetail with white head and brown body?

Now that I'm healthier, I should be able to walk that far.😂
@@anglerslifestyle4321 its a short walk, Carlos. Fish on buddy.
Is your spot left of swim/ Beach area close to plant tube?
What size and brand of hook are you using for trout .Can you send me a link so I can buy, ,Thanks

nice , is that a weight under bobber ? or it's a bell? I'm talking about your bait indicator, thanks
It's just a little bell. It's easier for me to hold on to the bobber when taking it off Incase of a bite.

What's the best bait to use at Quarry Lakes for trout? I've only been there once.

where s the new vid ? a saw you last sunday a sandy wool lake
ever fish at lake temescal or bass fish with baitcasters? love the vids btw
Not that often, but yes I've fished Lake Temescal. Not much of baitcaster user nor bass angler but someday possibly. Thank you for watching.

Absolutely approve. Try mini tube or jigs. State planted fish likes picking up baits from ground. Go get them.
I gone fishing there and I always get skunked u recommend any better places than this to catch my first trout?
Lake Chabot in Castro Valley is real nice and big, with a lot of trout
