I worked security at a Louis Vuitton for a time, absolutely horrible experience the people there (management and customers) were SO pretentious and snooty.

@@kageyamatobio1863 One thing that made me especially not want to take the position full time at the Louis Vuitton was I had to submit to a search whenever I left the property/went to lunch despite the fact that my post was outside (I was essentially a doorman) and I never once went in the store. Plus I was also told not to talk to the "clients" (I wasn't allowed to call them customers and I had to refer to the staff as "client advisors") when I dared to greet them which was demeaning to a degree and to top it off some of these people the way they approach the door and the looks on their faces if it wasn't opened instantaneously in line with their steps, they look genuinely dumbfounded why the door wouldn't open perfectly the way someone looks at an automated door that takes a bit too long. Some of the people dressed like some experimental fashion show from Paris with two terrified little dogs in a backpack and a hat that can barely fit in the door it was like a circus of pretentious elitism. It's worth noting all the salesman themselves were nothing but nice, the manager even treated me nicer when I commented on an antique trunk they had on display (I have an interest in things like that and history in general) I guess she saw me as an above average mook

TH-camr Nikki sky made a video claiming that the women (and men) who buy luxury are doing so to compete with the next girl. The concept of exclusivity leads me to believe she was correct. So many TH-camrs replied to her video, complaining that she was wrong and should speak for herself. They say they care about luxury bags because of the quality and because they simply like the bags. I believe this is a lie. They don’t want to admit to themselves that the reason they like expensive bags, the POINT of an expensive bag, is to have something the next person doesn’t. That’s it. Otherwise, why would you not choose a contemporary bag of similar style and quality? Otherwise, why would these luxury brands start losing customers when their exclusivity is in jeopardy?

*rrcopys* wallets are cheap and pretty. I loved it so much that I bought another one, both for my own birthday.

It's business, but it is a waste, but like you say exclusivity keeps the price high.

How is that even a question? It’s horrible, elitist, disgustingly wasteful and disrespectful to destroy perfectly good product just because “if you own LV you are simply automatically better than others”

It’s bad enough have those letters all over the product to begin with, THAT made it tacky itself from the very start. I NEVER found that brand appealing in any way because it’s like you’re advertising it wherever you go FLASHING the initials on the bag. Plus it’s brown, I never like anything brown. I want anything that’s shit color. Lol

My daughter Nancy, who holds a high position in New York, wears this bag. She loves its color, size and weight. Thank you. *rrcopys*

I remember they revealed this in a dramatic scene in a popular fashion anime and manga called Princess Jellyfish by Akiko Higashimura as well that many companies do what is necessary to obtain and one of them was burning products as well as remarket similar items and poaching upcoming new designers

It’s a waste, period! Nothing is clever about destroying quality pieces. Then these luxury brands “gift” their new pieces to the rich & famous. The ones who can afford the entire new line get them for free! Never makes sense to me.
