I hope you find these tips helpful in order to look your best in photographs!
This video is 5 years of me learning how to photograph others and myself. I would love to pass on these details to you, because I'm no model and these are tips that are MUST know.
A lot of these tips I provide are technical knowledge you need to be aware of. If you don't know this stuff, you'll forever be fighting an uphill battle - I'm very much referring to tip 7.
    The tips are:
    1. Practise is your best friend
    2. Framing of the image is extremely important otherwise the whole photo will look off
    3. Practise your facial expressions also. Leave the no expression look to the professional models.
    4. Make micro adjustments in every single photo
    5. Take LOTS of photos of yourself using burst mode
    6. Practise your facial expressions lots
    7. PERSPECTIVE! If you don't know about this, it will CHANGE your life.
    8. Tell a story, move away from the camera.
    9. Watch you don't over edit
    10. Use great light
    11. I forget...also, these tips aren't in order. Almost!
    12. Engage QUEEN MODE. My weird but effective tip to instantly get sky high confidence.
I hope you find this video helpful. Let me know what other videos you'd love to see from me.
If you're still reading this, please comment 'Woooowaaaweeee! My favourite tip is __________' (insert your favourite tip).

    1. practise which poses look the best on you
    2. facial expressions
    3. micro adjustments (move slightly)
    4. take lots of photos of yourself
    5. framing (background matters)
    6. lighting (use sunrises and sunsets)
    7. perspective (move your camera away and then zoom in, the features will appear smaller)
+if you want to appear taller, take photos from the lower angle
if you want a part of your body to look bigger, that part should be closer to the camera,
if you want a part of your body to look smaller, move that body part further back
    8. dress for your body shape
    9. dress up (wear something nice)
    10. be further away from the camera
    11. dont overedit (less is more)
    12. engage queen mode (confidence is key) remember a moment where you felt super confident and relive it at the shooting

Maham Waseem...I totally agree. I know intuitively that if my energy isn't up and peppy that my results in whatever I am aiming to do will be less than stellar. I started wearing tiara's in my videos now even-they're animated but still, it resonates! Love it!

To stop myself from over-editing I make sure I NEVER export a photo straight after editing, I always come back later or even the next day and look at it again most of the time this results in going yikes! who let me do all that and taking back half of the edits

Sorelle, I’ve been following you since the beginning, even took your advanced selfie course which I love and bought your presets. I was sad when you announced you were done with that and sad to say I stopped watching since then but saw this pop up and am so happy you’re back to talking about photography. It’s what brought me to you...that plus your travels which I also love. I understand that people evolve but I also believe that you’re exceptional at this and have a lot more to say that many people are willing and wanting to hear and learn. So, thank you! I’m also so happy for your success and happiness and have never hated on you like some have because of your success. Thanks so much for this video. I hope you do more about photography and advanced selfies, etc.

Why do I think I look kind of cute in my bathroom mirror, but as soon as I try to take a selfie, I look like Shrek? Well, at least now I know the camera distorts my face and I'm not being totally delusional.

Also be aware that your eye line is the perspective where you naturally see yourself from. Usually in mirror selfies we hold the phone in our hands and out, and so the lens is not the same height as our eye line view of ourselves, which means it will always look different (and usually less good to our brains). Try holding your phone higher or propping it up at eye line height and doing a self timer.

    • @marymary4093

There's something to that, Xoannon! Compared to all other mirrors in my house (and outside too), I never look better than in my bathroom mirror! It must be cut from the same glass as "mirror mirror on the wall".

if your not talking about mirror selfies, than mirrors flip the image, unfortunately the real us isn't what we see in the mirror because it's flipped. It's usually shocking and you find yourself thinking you look worse because you aren't used to it, you can buy mirrors that are "true mirror" they don't flip the image

Speaking about that "queen mode" tip you gave...NLP is a lifesaver for introverts and other shy/anxious people! I have just recently simultaneously started a youtube channel and the NLP practitioner course - it has helped me tremendously to break the patterns of self-doubt and self-sabotage! My content and social life, in general, are still sooo far from perfect, but I'm just in the process of learning, which I enjoy so much! When you feel like a happy badass, - people will perceive you as a happy badass!

Rhea...I agree. I love her zany behavior as well! I am highly emotionally dramatic so I resonate with the goofy stuff that she does naturally.

I love you’re content, and I think this is my favorite video in your channel to date.. so clear and super actionable advice. Most eye opening to me was the tip about the lenses and how being further away from the camera and then zoom in a bit to compress features 🤯 But I do really love all the tips, favorite being how to activate Queen mode! Gonna have figure out how to do that for myself 🤗
Thank you for making this video💖

As far as editing goes, a great tool that I use for editing photos (nature photos) is the auto edit on my app. It allows me to see what the suggested edits are and I can make mine after seeing them. Thanks for being awesome Ma'am! Keep up the great work!
