    I have an idea for a vehicle you could add to your city; a 'google' street view car, it would drive around and capture the hundreds of fantastic scenes in Brick-Nottingham!
    If you did a popcorn vendor on top of the motor, maybe, make it old west too, like a prospector is selling 'golden' popcorn!

    Love this little game stand Robin! Feels just right for the fairgrounds. I shouldn't be surprised at this point with how you work the magic to motorize this stuff but it's sooo darn cool to see how you make it happen! I would connect multiple motorized things together on 1 motor by connecting the axles underneath.
    Which is less noisy and costs less on motors and batteries since the rides don't put that much stress on a motor.

    I was watching Brick Haul 77 and I noticed you got the Corn Cob headpiece from Bricks & Pieces! For the past six months I was checking Bricks & Pieces several times a day and nothing... So when I saw the video, I checked the site again, but this time the English one, and yep, there it was. And then I checked the Belgium one, and the French one, and it seems LEGO just didn't want to sell the piece to The Netherlands (where I'm from)... So I contacted them (20-30 minutes on hold), and after a vague conversation I was told they are going to send it to me.. for free! So your Brick Haul videos are literally worth something to the viewers!

    Uhhhh, no use for the Sheriff in your city?!? RHB, c'mon! The Sheriff of Nottingham!!! ;) Very cool design for this carnival game and very well thought out. And it seems the inspiration for this build was that childhood memory of that day you won the pink gorilla. And that I think is what inspires all us AFOL's to build. Well done sir! If I can give one suggestion it would be to try a miniaturized building on the right side of the game scenery to add even more interest.

I was also sad to hear about Fast Food Corner, however Lego did put out a set that was similar in their 3 in 1 creator sets. • @icemorons5678
    @icemorons5678 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    To cut down on some of the noise, have you considered using one motor to power several, or most, or all, of your carnival rides and attractions? Using a series of technic axles and gears, you should be able to get one motor to branch off, powering several items at once. Perhaps consider using a technic clutch on each branch as a safety mechanism. In case of a malfunction at one ride, it wouldn't halt all the rides at once. Also, the sound of the slipping clutch would alert you to any issues.

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh definitely. I'm just building them in isolation first. They'll all be on different baseplates and with different power setups. Some shared hopefully, where not too demanding of power!

    Absolutely amazing. I wish I had ideas like that. The only thing I would change is, to remove one gun, because there is only one target to shoot at. Then mount the gun on a 1x1 round plate to rise it up a little bit, so the figures don't have to bend so much forward or shoot from the hip.

  • @chrischristiansen6204
    @chrischristiansen6204 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really dig the color composition, it helps everything pop and stay distinct. The back gear access may be useful if you plan to have another stall butted up against the back of this one. For modifications I would suggest trying the roof sloping back instead of forward. That kind of set up is common for stalls I've seen as it visually tricks the mind into seeing greater depth which could benefit the build. It would also improve visibility of the back of the build when seen from higher angles so the motion could be more easily seen from your standing holes. Though admittedly it would mess with the visual presentation of the stall sign.
    For other fair build ideas, I don't know if it would be mechanically viable to do a screw lift and drop thing with one of those test your strength hammer bell things like in that set the tiger faced girl is from. Some other skill game where targets are knocked down such as a ball throw or another gun type thing (maybe a water cannon like that friends set) could use a similar mechanism as the arms in the factory. A spinning rotisarie could be done for a food stall for turkey legs.
    Though it would probably be kind of bigger, a spinning tea cup type ride might work. Not quite sure how it would have to be geared to get the spinning of the full thing in addition to the gears on the cars. maybe a wheel to take the rotation of the first gear and friction against the ground or some other surface. I wonder if a drive shaft joint thing (drawing a blank on the name of them) would allow the ride assembly to be tipped. Then maybe a slope on a slow up and down seesaw motion could get further millage out of having the wheels underneath? On second thought it would be easier to just build it so the deck of the ride rests at an angle and the rotation itself causes it to look like it is lifting on one end. A little bit of hiding the sides and you can get the illusion of a lot of motion with just the simple spin of the central axel.

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are all good ideas and a lot I have already experimented with. Some mechanisms are just SO hard to do. Maybe it is just me but quite a few of these I have "parked" for a later date. Will they ever get completed? I don't know!

    I think you should do a wildlife safari tour in a part of your city, around where i live they have a wildlife safari tour and its super cool, you could basically build a big fence with different sections inside of it and a road going around the fence, you could use that safari vehicle or build like a safari bus to take tourist and citizens on tours so that way they can see different kinds of wildlife without having to travel to much.

    There are some round printed tiles from the DC superhero girls sets - with Bam and Pow etc. on them... maybe replacing one of the targets with a Bam tile might look good... hit that target to get the star prize...
    Also, the new Sesame Street set has a clear minifigure headpiece with a goldfish printed onto it, a few of them would be good... traditional to win a goldfish at a British fair.

    Awesome build 👍🏻 Maybe you could power it off of another ride using a drive shaft to avoid covering the motor

    The shooting gallery looks great. The moving targets are good and have a fun touch with the background. And the owner fits 110%. Are there also bumper cars? You could draw two large circles with gears over the roof to which the car bumpers are attached.
    And so they go in a circle I think the fairground will be great :-)

    Robin won a giant stuffed monkey in a shooting gallery game... Robin is Simon Pegg, confirmed!

    the safari car could be looking for one of your rare parrot in the city... like searching for it... and the parrot could be in their face or something... and the fareground will be amazing... are you going to modify the roller coaster or leave it like it is now?

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rollercoaster is so finely balanced and already awesome that I will leave it well alone!
