I still own the 26650 powered FD40 with a rotating sliding head.
It’s nice to see them still trying to improve the Zoomie.
This one looks about perfect, from a beam point of view. It’s a bit chunky for the total output, but I’m sure they needed the extra space to make it work.
The beauty with fenix is usually the high quality, so they last a long time while giving great results.

Down side of Fenix .. I bought the 35R some thing I forgot.. I leave in my tool box.. the reason I use it less because it get too hot so quick 🤷🏼‍♂️..

All flashlights get hot in turbo and sometimes even high mode. If you need high light output for longer time then you need a bigger flashlight which has more mass and better cooling

If you don't need to change the beam angle, go for the TK20 R V2.0

The digital (not mechanical) beam adjustment is something I never saw before
