Wow that was an awesome story! They should’ve made a movie based on this. Great video and thanks for the Indy content 🤠

      Great video!
Firstly, how did you come across this knowledge and also a copy of the comic? I would love to see a copy of this. Secondly, do you have a copy of the newsreel video where you see Indy his his Pankot attire?
      Thank you! 😊

@@canyon1899 Can't discuss the source, but the newsreel bit you mentioned is about 1 minute 25 seconds into this: th-cam.com/video/HLB2_d0RplI/w-d-xo.html

Nice , really like the story you explain. Wish they made a comic of this since the ride at Disneyland was reopened with new affects.

That was a great comic book theme to the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. But if I got kidnapped, blind folded to prevent the curse of Mara, arrived at the Observatory of the Future with the kidnapper and became very dejected…

See, this may conclude my theory about Mara. In case you don't remember, Mara was a malevolent demon in Buddhism that was a member of the power-hungry cataclysmic force of evil known as the Asura, who were considered as Yin in the Yinyang. It was said that Mara tried to overthrow Buddha from achieving eternal life by distracting him with love and represented anger, greed, lust and desire. What's also intriguing is that there's reports of Mara having connections in Hinduism as a deity of death. Maybe Mara knew the foolish humans would disobey him and look upon his eyes. Maybe it was part of a sinister plan to lure tempted beings to their doom. Whether or not Mara was doing this as a way of testing his victims or taking advantage of them for his selfish desires as a supernatural trickster or intervener, Mara could be considered an antivillain.

This would have been a great comic book and great Indiana Jones story I would have read it and if they do an animated series this should be one of the episodes including my personal favorite story Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings

So the book was set after last crusade, yet ends with mentions about the ark like it just happened?

    • @indianajonesnerd

I think the idea is that several years after Raiders of the lost ark the rumor somehow got out that Indy had found the ark back in '36 and a reporter asked him about it, but indy denied it.
Of course the time frame of the attraction was ultimately changed to take place in 1935 so if they made the comic I imagine the timberline would have been the same as the ride

@@indianajonesnerd it would make sense since the ride supposed to take place in 1935 (a year before raiders) because the map Indy wrote that he saw the amulet from visions of the future when he saw himself and Sallah carrying the ark of the covenant.
I want to mention the lore about it too is before Abner Ravenwood died from avalanche in Nepal, he wrote a letter to Indy about the temple that behind the gates of doom is the Jewel that Indy and Abner believed that it was powering the temple from Mara himself. It was so powerful and destructive that anyone could possibly comprehend.
