I really appreciate what you guys said about GPs - it makes it clear to the public that we understand the frustration around appointments but that we are doing our best with the limited resources!
I think of GP as the "impossible job". Impossible in terms of expectations, complex decision making, problem solving, poor training, lack of respect and appreciation from patients and other clinicians. My GP rotation was the most stressfully and difficult one by far - completely put me off GP as a career. You are expected to pick up the pieces of a broken society. No wonder GPs are leaving in droves!
Of course! We think that it’s important that the public are aware exactly why there are such big problem in primary care! The GPs we know are just as frustrated as the public - must be so hard to constantly hear how rubbish you are when there’s nothing you can do about it!
Definitely, I think you summed up the complexities of being a GP well there. The specialty has become less and less attractive whilst the need for GPs has risen year on year!
I swear me and sanchit are the same person I hated Surgery from the start of my surgical placement and if there was a surgical specialty I want to do it would be ENT.
Interesting observation that all the specialties you mentioned have relatively high patient-facing contact. I wonder if there is any correlation between this and physician satisfaction...
There is no such thing as the "WORST/BEST" specialty. Everyone has their personal preferences based on their personality, interest, and clinical experience.

Great minds think alike 👊🏽 what specialty did you choose / are you thinking of choosing?
@@ScanningTheMind med student so thinking about psych, paeds or cardiology
Think you did mention what’s the reality of the profession

I guess it depends on what you value in your job. Varun is clearly a Radiologist 🤣
When he said he takes bloods as a ‘procedure’ 😂😂😂🤦🏾♀️🌚 I screamed
isn't electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) a procedure done by psychiatrists?
I realy like ur duet guys.
Thanks! :)

There is always an objective and subjective viewpoint. This is clearly our subjective opinion.
Being a pediatrician is a life of service
Definitely one of the hardest specialties!
