One mistake all artists make in all videos I watched so farm they spray to close and soak pastels with varnish and than complain their colors has darkened. Im pretty sure its not meant to be used that way. You need to be at least 2 ft away and you need to spray final myst over the painting, under something like 45 degree angle and let final particles cover your work lightly (not giving it a shower). You may still see slight color darkening in some colors (depending what bran you use and what paper), but you not gonna see nearly this dramatic results.
All the fixatives are darken the colors. I have learned this at the factory of Royal Talens. Because the binder of the pastels is a white color. It is a clay (Kaolin) we’re they make porcelain from. This white clay becomes transparent so you miss this after spraying. I have bought a new sort of fixative they say it is freezing the pigments, I have to try this out.
Good idea for a test but do read instructions. It says 30 cm away from the painting for a reason, not 3 cm. There shouldnt be puddles forming when you use a fixative. If it was a drawing it would be ruined by such a use.

Does the conté à paris fixative work on graphite and charcoal?
On charcoal it does, on graphite, I do not know. Sorry for that.
