I own the Ora Luxe Recovery sandals. If you wear socks you will love these. However, if you are like me and wear them bare foot then don't waste your time. In theory the straps make sense. You can adjust them to the width of your feet. The bad news is they dig into my skin to the point the top of my feet (yes both feet) were bleeding. The footbed is fantastic. But the adjustable straps are huge and unsightly. Since they dig into my bare feet no matter how I adjust them (and I was constantly tweaking them thinking it was the fit that caused the problem) these are not recommended.
Thank you for all the Hoka reviews. These are SOOO helpful when picking a pair online. Also, the Hoka sizing changes frequently. It's always good to do research before buying a staple item such as these. 👏💯
I had worn the original version of Hoka recovery slippers. They were comfortable but became loosened and bigger in size over time, not securely snugged/wrapped my feet. The latest version looks nice with a velcro top that would make it possible to cinch down to your own foot width!! Thanks a lot for the review, Tim!!! Run and rest safe!
Hi Jean. I really like the Velcro straps. They work great. The cost is a little steep but I think they are durable enough to make them worth it. Have a great weekend.
Hi Tim! Came across this video because I am trying to find out which tennis shoe of Hokas compare to the Hoka Ora Luxe that I absolutely love! I do not have any fat pads on the bottom of my feet and these sandals are a game changer for me. I would love to find a style that would be good as winter is coming and I can’t wear sandals in the snow of course lol! I really need the cushion and do not want to get fat pad grafting done on my feet. I feel that if I can find a pair that are as cushioning as the ora luxe then I can cancel that. These really are a game changer for me. Thank you in advance for any recommendations on style that might work for me.
Hi Robin. The max cushion shoe by Hoka is their Bondi. If you are good to change brands and want a lot of cushion you might want to check it the Asics Gel Nimbus 25 or the New Balance Fresh Foam More V 3 or 4. I hope this helps. Have a great day and stay safe!
Robin, have you tried the Bondi model? I have bottom of foot issue and they have been that game changer for me. I wear them 7 days a week on walks year round, and they are like no other of the many I have tried for comfort. My wife tried them and they are now her favorites also. Good luck!
If someone is interested in these luckily there are 20 colorways to choose from, some of which actually look nice 😅 Sorry Tim! Black or grey is not really looking too that fancy 😁 I think I prefer my v1 as my use case is in the shower at the gym, around the pool so I prefer all foam construction and velcro, fabric etc. would be ruined in a short time. BTW, I still think Ora Recovery Flip probably looks the best. Have you looked at them?
lol.... no worries. Thanks for mentioning the additional color ways. I really like these. But the OG's will get the job done for a lot less money. Have a great day.
Overall they are a bigger slide than the earlier versions but these have adjustable straps so you can customize the fit to your liking. These are now my favorite of the Hoka slides that I own. Have a great day and thanks for the question.
I ordered mine true to size as my running shoes and they fit me perfect. Given that tie between sizes I’d go up rather than down. I think I’d be fine length wise. And you can use the Velcro straps to get the fit you want across your midfoot. Have a great weekend!
I have not tried Birkenstocks. Sorry I can't compare them but maybe one of our fellow runners might be able to give some insight there. Have a great weekend.
This is my favorite comment of the day.... I laughed so hard when I read it that my eyes teared up a little. Love these sandals and all they do for my "old man injuries." Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and for making me laugh. Have a great Sunday. Stay safe and thanks again for watching.
@@RunTall Tim-Dude, appreciate your reviews alot....even as they relate to "old man issues" some of us have. Heck, I wouldn't care if you told us about your favorite pizza. Gonna go order the Luxe after much research. Keep up the good work!
@@RunTall that guys just being a dick. He will have old man injuries at some point. I’m not old but that was just uncalled for. Hope ya have a good day sir.

Great review keep it up with these recovery sandals 💯💪
Great review, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Have a great weekend.
I've been wearing ora slides for years, I'm on my third pair.
That’s awesome. I really like them too. Have a great weekend!
Recovery 3 or Luxe, which does have the best arch support for overpronators?
I like the Luxe a little more. The arch support is similar, but I like the fit of the Luxe. Have a great day!

But how do they fit? 3’s are bigger than 1’s

Great video. Would you say they run smaller or larger? I’m a 10.5 so I’m wondering if I should size up or down.

I have not tried Birkenstocks. Sorry I can't compare them but maybe one of our fellow runners might be able to give some insight there. Have a great weekend.
My birks arch support isnt as good as these
Got 4E wide feet. How wide is the toebox?
It’s pretty wide plus you have straps that are Velcro for adjustments. I can’t say for sure if they will accommodate 4E or not. Have a great day!
do they both fit the same in size?
Yes they do. The velcro straps also offer a more custom fit. Have a great weekend.
Dude, review the sandal, who cares about your tendinitis or old man injuries
