Great job with this tag, Nicky. I need to do this one too. I also like to read Dickens at this time of year, and along with you, I'm reading Edith Wharton's ghost stories this month too.
I feel like I set the same goals every year too, for everything 😂 I’ve found old notebooks from like ten years before saying the same things. Might be a good idea so switch it up a bit! I would like to read a little more nonfiction next fiction, just a couple. 12 would be a lot for me. Great video as always 😊
@@ellenmadebookclub Girl I think we are all the same at heart haha. We have these deep seeded goals and always underestimate how hard they will be! But I am so interested to see what nonfiction you would choose!
@ That’s very true! And also bad at setting goals haha 😂 Habits is where it’s at, or so I’ve heard. I’m putting my 2025 tbr together now I have to check if there’s any nonfiction in it at all! Thanks for the reminder
Okay Mima so she finished it and I asked her on a scale from 1 to 10 what did you think and she gave it an 8 and said the exact same thing as you that it was very intense lol 😅 I'm gonna start reading it today but I haven't read in a minute so I know I won't be able to finish it today but looking forward to get back into reading. Also I forgot to say I can't believe you've read all the ones she's recently got. I think that's awesome ❤ She also has 3 books called Dune which I'm not sure what those are about but when I asked her about the Tender Is The Flesh she was like who are you telling that to and I told her titi Gloria's oldest daughter since she doesn't remember meeting you but she wanted to make sure I wasn't telling anyone that was younger than 18 lol 😂 like she's so grown. It's hard to believe she's 18. When I asked her why she got this book she said she wanted to read a thriller but she did not expect the book to be so graphic So when I'm done reading it I will give you my thoughts on it
Interesting tag answers! Just a few years ago I learned that ghost stories at Christmas or through the winter is a tradition popularized in the Victorian era. So your seasonal reading tastes are appropriate 😊
@@christine_reads Same! It was just a couple years ago I discovered this was a popular thing so now I feel totally fine readinf ghost stories this time of year! 😊
@@MyMessyBookshelf Yay! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Edith Wharton. I almost picked it up at the used bookstore a couple months ago but didn't 😕
Hi Mima ❤ so Kendall just went to Barnes and Noble and got a new book but I found out one book she has is The Iliad, the Odyssey and Circe and the one book she got today which I was shocked is called Tender Is The Flesh and she is currently reading The Song of Achilles I'm going to read Tender Is The Flesh when she's done and she started reading it and she's only been home for like a little over an hour and she's almost done but told me mom I don't think your brain could handle it lmao 🤣🤣. It's definitely something that I didn't think she would like but she's been buried in it for awhile but while I didn't take her my sister did and she bought it for her as one of her Xmas presents. I'm looking forward to reading it. So lmk if you have heard of any of the books I mentioned ❤
@@rachelrae860 I have read all of these and OMG let me tell you Tender is the Flesh is INTENSE. My face was like 😟 the whole time. I would love to hear what she thinks of it!
