When I grew up in Taiwan, we ate a lot of Thai food - and I hated it! But I found myself making your Tom Yum Fried Rice one day and it was a R E V E L A T I O N. I still don't like coconut, but I've fallen in laab with Thai cuisine thanks to your amazing body of work on TH-cam. I'm definitely trying this Tom Yum Spaghetti!!!
@@4EX181 Yeah, my grandparents are from the Yunnan province of China, which shares a lot of culinary heritage with Laos and Thailand (and other SEA countries). I love Yunnanese food, and I guess it's pretty telling that my favorite Thai dishes are almost all from Northern Thailand.
@@wipookumnerddee6919 I just meant that I didn't like fish sauce, coconut anything, and any type of seafood. There's actually a lot of Thai people in Taiwan with authentic restaurants.
Made this last night. Very zingy and spicy and overall just amazingly delicious. And it's so quick, too, like it's incredible how much flavor you have at the end after only a few minutes of cooking. Thanks, Pai.
i've made this twice (since i dont have thai paste, i changed it to tomato-chili ketchup juuuust a little bit) AND IT'S FANTASTICALLY GOOD! i'm a big fan of tomyum annnnd noodles (any kind!) so this one suit my taste very best. thank you so much for sharing this 💕 love from Indonesia
I tried this recipe and it was so DELICIOUS!! So much flavor but quick to make. Thanks so much for another wonderful recipe. Your recipes always turn out well.
Dear Pai. I cooked the dish for lunch today. Absolutely great. I added three small red chilis to the paste. Oops, quite spicy. Instead of shrimps and mushrooms I used little bacon burgers (meatball size) and fresh white Asparagus (cut in one inch size bites). Wonderful. Please keep on going presenting wonderful dishes. And now I order Sabai. Greets.
Greetings from the Philippines! I saw this video of the Tom Yum Spaghetti and was taken by the tastes I had seen and imagined how it did! And I did! We cooked this at home here today and it is so delicious! Thank you Miss Pailin for sharing this recipe!
Could you please share a recipe for Nam Tok Ped? Or generally more duck dishes? 🦆 These spaghetti look delicious! I‘m usually not a fan of fusion cuisine , but this I am definitely going to try! Your videos made me start cooking thai food almost every day 😆 thank you
This looks amazing Pai! Thank you for sharing. Just a suggestion...I noticed you twirling the pasta with the tongs. Unfortunately your wrists can only turn so far. Try instead to twirl the plate with your off hand.
Omggggg the Autumn season flavors 😍😍😍but I will skip the shrimp and making it vegan but the most important is the sauce. Thanks for sharing, it looks great & so colorful 💖💖
This looks so good as always!! Your recipes are so delicious and the way you explain things is literally perfect loll I just ordered your book. Thank you so much for your videos and little lessons on the language and culture Pai!! Best cooking show ever!!!
I've been cooking this like for a billion of years already. Similar to yours, just with a super huge tinned tom yam paste bought from Thailand (OMG so freaking good) instead of making myself, and minus the prawns... And im eating this almost everyday and i think im gonna die of health concern 😂
Hi Adam here - and I think you're going to have to ask her that one directly as she doesn't see the comments on here once the post is more than a week old (as per her note above). You can check out options to get hold of her here hot-thai-kitchen.com/contact . Cheers!
Pai, I want to cook this Tom Yum Spaghetti for a group of 16 people. Do I just multiply the recipe as written, or are there any ingredients that would not be multiplied exactly as printed. Can't wait to give this a go, but want to feel sure it will turn out just a delicious as the recipe you give for only 2-3 servings. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your videos and recipes. Keep up the great work !!!!
Looks so good! I live in Chiang Mai and I'm going to try cooking this. Unless anyone knows a good spot here that I could visit? Thanks for the great vid!
Looks delicious. What I found interesting is the not draining of the pasta, but really that makes sense. A lot of recipes will say to add a little of the pasta water to the sauce to help it pull together (something to do with the starches in the water). By not draining it, the pasta carries that water to the sauce. I'll keep that technique in mind for future pastas. Thanks! So, when we going to see you on Next Food Network Star?
This looks so good! Would it be ok here to use frozen aromatics (like galangal, lime leaves etc.)? I feel like in this case fresh might be better, but I generally only have frozen ones on hand
Hi! ... and she tells me yes if it's a short time like this (ex. a stir fry) - if you were to let something simmer for a long time though that would be a problem for sure. Cheers! Adam
Ohmygoooooosh! I have, have, HAVE to try this! Because I love pasta and tom yam gong and I can't wait to to try new things! Okay, I will definievy skip the parmigiano, because cheese and I don't like eachother 🤢. The tom yam apron has arrived to Switzerland, btw. I'm so happy and proud to wear it ❣
I did it! It turned out delicious, but I used italian black noodles instead of spaghetti, because I like the combination of black and red and the flavours of the squid-ink and the shrimps went really well together. And I skipped the cheese (of course) 😉.
Looking good :) but I wonder whether you season the shrimp and the pasta or not. I only see you use chilli paste and lemon juice and some herbs for the dish. No salt or sauce?
Yummy 😋😋, it looks so delicious & so easy to make it, tomorrow i want to cook this for my mom and my dad ❤💙💜 , i love you Pailin !!! You're so great ! 💕💕
That looks so good!! I totally want to make it, but I dont have a store near me that has most of these ingredients (lemon grass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves etc) I saw another recipe that basically uses store bought tum yum pasta. Can I cook it that way? And do I still need to get chili paste if I get the tum yum paste? Thanks!

I make green and red curry with spaghetti all the time, since it is a stable and I just want some break from eating rice. Definitely recommend trying Thai curries with pasta (not sure with Massaman tho).
@@natto2581 Yeah I agree that the green curry is awesome with noodles, red is yummy too but I dont know because that might be just me lol. I never eat curries with noodles in Thailand actually since i always see them served with rice but I will try to find that once I'm in Bangkok again. Can you please give me some suggestion, also other food (as "local" as possible) to try?
