Thanks to this car, Ferrari returned to Grand Prix success after a long break. Victory came courtesy of Gerhard Berger at Hockenheim, a circuit where the 412 T1’s V12 finally managed to bridge the gap with its rivals. However, the year was marred by the tragic weekend at Imola in which Austrian driver Roland Ratzenberger was killed in qualifying and Aryton Senna lost his life in the actual race. The FIA stepped in and imposed drastic rule changes both for the tracks themselves and the cars to improve safety. The Drivers’ title went to a talented young German named Michael Schumacher, who scorched past Damon Hill in the last race. Williams won the Constructors’ Championship and Ferrari came third with 71 points.
In the name of the new car, the 4 stood for the number of valves per cylinder while the 12 was for the number of cylinders and the T referred to the transverse gearbox with its six normal gears and one reverse.

I specifically remember waiting at the tram stop on the way into Friday practice for the 1994 Australian GP. I could hear the 3.5lt Ferrari V12 clear as day.....was 12kms away! The atmosphere that befell the curcuit when the F1 cars was on track was otherworldly...in fact it befell the whole city...
Yep, my home town. I could hear it from my house. The street party's were great and you could walk out of the track and into Rundle Street. Adelaide is sadly underfunded.
I know the feeling. I used to live 5 km from circuit Zolder. When the wind was coming from the right direction I could hear the racecars at home. And could hear the differences in engines. Like a Porsche cupcar or BMW M3 were very recognisable.
Hearing those F1's must have been some experience. 😁
@@Belgian-Motorsport my dad worked for Honda. The 80s were still pretty lax with the #6 race car put on display at the then Claridge Honda dealership. I have a photo of me sitting in it. Imagine that happening in today's world.
You could really hear it from 12 kilometers away? What a devil
For me, the best sounding engine of all time
Yes, the F1 3.5 litre Ferrari V12's were the best sounding engines in motorsport history.
In Spa every engine sound it's better! The echo is cool!
That track could make a prius sound cool.
@@digitalcamaro9708 bro😂😂
What a sound! This is an F1, the most powerful V12 in the 90's 800hp , insane.
860Hp at the end of the season .
A Symphony of Beauty and pure Perfection ❤️
0:40 wait Seb, we are working on it 😂
savage 😂
850bhp at peak, was such a beast
What a sound😍 the only F1 which sounds even better is the Ferrari 412 T2
412 T2 IS better
@@freezer3860 yes it is
beautiful scenery so much green
I guess it's a matter of when one started watching F1, but this is the best-looking F1 car of all times to me. I mean, just pause at 6:04 and look at that perfect shape...
The hole at the back of the engine cover was there to reduce power, the FIA had imposed it judging these 1994 F1s too fast and dangerous (following the accidents of that year)
At the end of 1994 Tipo 043 have nearly 860HP
Yeah. I think it was around 850 or 860 hp @ 15,800 rpm, which is to date the most powerful naturally-aspirated V12 engine in F1 history. The V10s later surpassed this power slightly by about 100 hp, albeit through a smaller engine displacement, but with higher revs.
these beast ferraris once driven by Alesi & Gerhard Berger
And Nicola Larini for two races! Larini actually finished 2nd in Imola 1994!!
Bring back fucking v12s
Beautiful Sound 👌👍😎
They driving them slowly right ? Because in case of accident is a tremendous loss. Im pretty sure they are able to go way faster.
Yeah
Slow braking and downshifting.
Favorite Ferrari
I like this channel SO MUCH!!!
He's a real tall lad
I never liked the V8's, 2.4l too small, the V10 and V12 the best. Ferrari 90 - 94 the best sounds ever.
So this cars still drive, are those engines rebuilt? Since I heard F1 engines are good for only few races. How many 412 T1s exist?
There are a few companies who keep these F1's running. The ones in this video are maintained by Modena Motorsport.
I beleive they made 8 of these cars in period.
Don't know how many remain.
This is the zenith of low tech fossil fuel powered automotive engineering. Automobiles will never emit such mechanical howls again.
2:35 😭😭😭
750 hp, in a 500kg car.........
