Very cool! A flock of pine siskins has been visiting my backyard trees in Fort Worth, TX for the past couple weeks. I always hear when they arrive. They are noisy!
Glad you got to see some Pine Siskins. I have them year-round, but I've had some large flocks this year. I currently have seen 7 out of the 11 species on your challenge checklist.
Thus far, the pine siskin has been the only irruptor (besides big numbers of blue jays and some tufted titmouse) to show up in my yard here in Brooklyn, NY. Fingers still crossed for a purple finch to show up on their way back up north.
They had stumped me when they came to our block in September but I ID'd it a week or two after they arived. They weren't many that came to the actual feeder most just sat at the end of the block doing their "Zweeeee" call. Hope they come back. Great video guys!
Love the video! I grew very close to a flock of Pine Siskins this past winter and they would eat out of my hand! After earning their trust slowly, by the time we moved out of our apartment, I could just put my hand up while on the balcony and they would immediately fly down from the tree and land on me :) I absolutely adored them, named a few of them, and have missed them every day.

Yeah, definitely keep an eye out. Anything is possible as the birds move back up.

Pine Siskins have one of the best scientific names: Spinus Pinus!
Great scientific name.
