One of BeastyQT's 1 unit to grandmaster series is of marines. As of at least 6 months ago, it was his easiest and quickest playthrough to reach GM ever

This series is great! :D Spamming marines is how I played Starcraft the first time. Maybe a tank or battlecruiser here there but in general, full on marina slaughter!

honestly, it would be only a very slight nerf as there's usually other protoss units blocking the area.

I still use the pure marine strat whenever I hope back onto the SC2 ladder. Its actually a really solid way to get your muscle memory back as it relates to the macro side of the game. Like Hasrstem said "they just infantry".
I'll play 20-30 matches just building marines, and then after that start playing actual BO's because my fingers and mouse control are fully up to speed.
They the only race it really works with because they don't need gas, and can shoot up.
Beastyqt did this a few years back from bronze to gm can't remember if he completed it. Would be cool to see you and beasty do a show match or maybe even coop map
The last episode was him complaining that it just wasn't possible at high GM.

harstem seems like he can kind of do it because his is higher than beasty's.
Yeah I loved that series, it was probably possible to make it to gm, but it's gonna rely a lot on luck as most people pretty much know how to just beat mass marines.

This was really cool. Great first episode of BGMWSTS (Stupid Terran Stuff). Wasn't expecting an episode of this at all, let alone such a successful one. Well played!
In SC BroodWar the carriers had only 5 interceptors (upgrade could provide +3). I call for BGMWSS with fast transition to skytoss with only 4-5 interceptors per carrier. You are only allowed to manually create the interceptors.
It's 4 you can build starting off. Then the upgrade allowed 4 more. Fun fact: in brood war they had 4 armor and SC2 they have 2 armor.

I have wanted to see Terran BGMWSS "mass upgrades" (Not like episode #13) ever since I first found your channel.
Lots of Marines, Siege Tanks, and Vikings with Equal bio/mech/air upgrades (+few Medivacs).
Bonus: do a Marine drop, a Tank drop, and a Viking "drop", and otherwise try to use Vikings in ground mode more often.
Beating Grandmasters With Stupid Stuff suggestion:
As Protoss, get your first +1 upgrade (air or ground) before starting your first unit (except probes) and make sure to continuously upgrade until 3/3. Cannon rushing is OK (encouraged).
Oh you MUST do this again. Only Marines... Marines only...

floating buildings are usually OP in basetrade scenarios, so i'd like to throw in here that it could be fixed by giving the buildings "fuel". Which basically means that after x amount of time, the building lands automatically. and if its in a spot where it cant land, it gets damage over time or instant death one of those
this would make terran much more balanced imo. But the amount of time could be set to many minutes, so its not necessarily a stressing factor for terrans in-game, but just for certain late game scenarios that usually result in the terran having an easy time defending their bases because other races lack the troops to reach them

When you said, that you're gonna build turrets, should've done so. Not one per base, but like 2-3. They cost a little more than a marine, but you'd still have economy after that prism died immediately on your turrets...

They're like Warhammer's IG (Imperial Guard), chances are you'll run out of ammo before run out of soldiers
The soldiers are the ammo.
I actually played like this for quite some time.
I usually opened gasless two rax, cause it also gives 2 marines at a time but without the production delay of a reactor. Then cc and 4 more rax and gas, stim, +1/+1 factory, armory, ... And just add more CCS and rax as fits :D
Love Harstem's humility showing the actually losses and grateful he's showing to us how subpar builds don't work even against inferior players

bgmwss: turtle miner. No attacking until you mine out a base's minerals. Each win you have to mine out an additional base. Scouting allowed. If they take your second/third you can attack it early ofc
Hey Cap. This one was great. I have an idea for a fun B.G.M.W.S.S. terrain addition. Its all aboit those drops. But not marine drops. Your gonna need the A-team. One Goast, one Hell-bat, one Maureder, one marine and one SUV all in a mediVAC. You can make multiple teams but you've got to drop with those team and cause havok..... Or get killed. It's a good way to drop some nukes behind the lines tho. So could be fun 😂

Don't you just die to early aggression? Like the amount of tech it requires before you can build 1 ghost, wont you die to the first push?
As someone who served 20 years in the Navy and Marine Corps; I will attest that sometimes just spamming marines and keeping the strategy simple, while building proxy racks, is often the most effective strat.
BGMWSS Challenge idea: Hero unit
Details:
Every game, choose a unit type. You must build one unit of that type, and you can only have one of that kind of unit. This is your 'hero'. Also, you can only attack if you are bringing your hero unit.
Easy mode: you can rebuild your hero unit if it dies. Hard mode: you concede immediately if it dies.
This is great. Back when I played I mained zerg. But I played p and t to masters as well.
For Terran, I reached the top of diamond before I actually had to learnTerran. All I did was go mass marines upgrades and some medevacs.

I have seen a rly cool 4 cyclone rush that seem'd to really catch people of guard.

keep a bunch of orbitals in your main for the mules and expand with planetaries beyond your natural
First opponent reminded me of spanishiwa way back in the days of husky, beating everyone with just zergling/queen.
How about Overlord Rushing in PVZ? These weak, slow beings are very smart and have the power to be completely ignored by adversaries, even when main enemy armies walk past a whole clutter of them, begging to be taken down. They also roam the outskirts of bases, so that makes it easier to take them out by flanking them. Use Phoenix/Voidray (+speed/range upgrades) to attack Overlords in the early game (instead of Workers) to deny supply and vision. Morph into DT to wall up against Zergling/Baneling/Queen attacks. Use Graviton Beam to distract Queens while you keep attacking Overlords. Move back to base, recharge flyers with a Battery and by the time you are back (with more forces), fresh, new Overlords are available for killing.

At the beginning of the game, fly your CC to your natural or 3rd and then start the game.
This strat leverages an idea that has long existed in real world warfare: a good idea right now is better than a perfect idea later. The idea being that in combat, seconds matter.

When SC2 first came out, I did nothing but marine rushes and got to mid masters before it stopped winning all the time.
You should look at the wings of liberty bronze to masters filtersc terran build. Or a variation thereof. CC first or gasless expand, then 2 more rax, then 2 gas. This lines everything up nicely. You get +1 and stim at same time and combat shield a few seconds later.
Proper micro’d marines with enough supply counter everything. Even vs. banes and siege tanks and colossus
